How to Create Application Server Connection in Jdev 10g?

I have Jboss 4.0.x installed on my system and working fine. How I can import the connection to JDev application server?
Thanks
Mit

Mit,
No need to import the connection. Just create a connection for Application Server.
step-1 : Go to VIEW > DATABASE CONNECTION NAVIGATOR
step-2 : Right click on APPLICATION SERVER
step-3 : Select New Connectionn from the context menu.
step-4 : Enter the Details

  • How to Create Application Server Connection in Jdev 11g?

    Hi all
Can any one help me with the below requirement
is there any way to deploy the WAR or EAR to an Application Server in Jdev11g. In Jdev 10g We used to configure the Application Server& Integration Server Connections by starting up the SOA Suite 10g.
Similar to that What is the best option in Jdev11g. Jdev 11g comes with the embadded bea weblogic server, If I want to cerate the Application Server Connection do I need to separately configure the weblogic server?
    Thanks in advance

    No you can't.
ADF 11g applications require support for parts of Java EE 5 that are not there in OAS 10 (will be there in Fusion Middleware 11g).
So there is no one click deployment options.
You can however develop an application that uses J2EE 1.4 in JDev 11 without ADF - then create EAR/WAR and manually deploy to OAS.
See the JDeveloper FAQ linked from the JDeveloper home page for more info.

  • Unable to create application server connection in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3

    Hi All,
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3. As my soa environement is clustered and we have 2 nodes on server.
While create application server connection jeveloper is giving error as : **Bad OPMN server host address*. I am able to accesss application using mozila or internet explorer. Will it provide different host name while soa is installed in clustered environment. Please help me in this.
    Regards,
    Adhi

    Hi ,
Are you behind a proxy in Firefox or IE?
If so try to give the same proxy and the proxy avoidance IP's in JDeveloper proxy configuration.
If server couldnot be communicated from Jdev then this will be the first place i will look into .
    Thanks,
    Praveen

  • Got Error when creating application server connection

Hi Guys...I am using SOA 10.1.3.1.0
I got the following error when creating application server connection
    In Step 1:
I selected the Connection type as Standalone OC4J 10.1.3 (Why because I use this one)
    In Step 2:
In this step I gave username and password (same username and password to connect to BPEL console)to authenticate connection
    In step 3:
It is asking for Hostname, RMI port and URL path. My computer name is gopal-computer. I gave this hostname. RMI port number is 23791 by default. I kept this one as it is and URL path optional I think. I did not give any thing.
    In step 4:
When I hit the test connection button its giving the following error
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://gopal-computer:23791/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Gopal.....

For SOA Suite connection you should choose "Oracle application server 10g 10.1.3"

  • Create Application Server Connection Wizard - Connection Type

    Hi guys:
In the "Create Application Server Connection" Wizard - the Connection Type for the WebLogic 10.x is missing??
    Thanks

That's because WebLogic 10 went into production after JDeveloper 10.1.3 was already out.
Try and see if the WebLogic connection that is in there still works with 10.
If not you can just create the EAR/WAR file from JDeveloper and pick it up and deploy them with the Weblogic admin interface or with an Ant task.

  • Problem creating Application Server Connection

    Hi,
I am experiencing some problem in getting the connection to work right after I install the JDeveloper 10.1.3, the following is the configuration I used, please help me on this:
    Connection Type: Standard OC4J 10g 10.1.3
Host name: localhost , RMI Port: 23791
Firewall for port 23791 is turned off for both UDP and TCP.
When I test for connection, I got the following error:
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://localhost:23791/default:
Error reading application-client descriptor: Error communicating with server: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: Connection refused: connect [Root exception is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect]
I do not understand why this happen. Do I need to turn on any server to get this to work? Please help me. Thanks.

    Hi Timo,
Thanks a lot. After doing much research here and there, I managed to get it work. I think it would be better that I shared my experience with everyone and this is how I get my first JSP on JDeveloper (OC4J) to work:
    - Start the OC4J server by running [Where you installed your JDeveloper]/jdev/bin/start_oc4j.bat
    - Create an application server connection. [For username: admin, password: welcome, URL: ormi://localhost:23791/]
Just wonder if anyone can give me a clue on how do I change my port to 80 instead of the default 8988 and also how to change the context root?

  • Preblem facing in creating application server connection in Jdeveloper

    Hi All,
I am using weblogic 10.3.1 and Jdeveloper 10.1.3.5.
I want to deploy an ear file in my weblogic server. Can anyone plesae guide me how can I create a application server connection in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.5
    Thanks in Advance!!

Can't you just go to the connections navigator, right-click and select New Application Server Connection, and then just use the wizard? What is the problem you are facing?
Try selecting Oracle Application Server 10 or OC4J 10g.

  • Error While creating Application server connection

    Hi ,
I am a newbie to SOA suite . I have installed Oracle XE Database , Oracle Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0.3 and Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.1) ( file name soa_windows_x86_
101310_disk1.zip) on my windows XP machine
Now I created a "Hello World Bepel Process '" . For deploying it I was trying to create an application server connection . I am not sure that I need to install anymore things or not .
Here are the steps which happened while I was trying to make connection to application server.
    1> Connection Name : Gave as "AppServerConnection1"
    Connection Type as "Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3"
    2> UserName as : oc4jadmin
    Password : Gave my password
    3> Hostname : localhost
RMI Port was coming as 23791 as default ( Please note that I checked opmn folder and tried to use the RMI from the xml file too)
4> While testing I was getting error as "For input string: "23791home"
Not sure if i need to install anything ( Probably Application Server ) more .
Please let me know what I need to do and if i need to install anything else where will I find the file ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Connection Type as "Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3"
When choosing the connection you need to select the connection as Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 not Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3

  • IBM WPS: Error While Creating App and Int Server Connections in JDev 10g

    Hi,
I have been struggling to create App Server and Int Server connections in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 without any luck.
The JDeveloper is present on VM ware machine from which I'm trying to establish the connections to remote server where SOA Suite 10g is installed on IBM Websphere.
    My Settings:
    App Server:
    Connection Type: Standalone OC4J 10.1.3
RMI: tried WC_defaulthost port, 6003, RMI default port (How do I get the actual value of RMI on IBM Websphere and does this really make a difference?)
Connection test fails with Mbean error. Ignored this error as documented in Installation guide.
    Int Server:
Used the above App Server connection, gave the http port value of 9700 (also the WC_defaulthost on IBM Websphere)
Connection test fails for App Server, BPEL PM Server and ESB Server.
I have gone through other threads where different workarounds were suggested but none of them worked for me. The workaround of adding the property ipaddr with the value 0.0.0.0 in opmn.xml doesn't hold good here as IBM WPS doesn't have OPMN.
Please suggest a working solution for this issue.
    Regards,
    CC

The below message comes when you don't specify any default file for your webcenter portal application and this should not be any problem.
Target Portal.jpr is not runnable, using default target index.html.
Can you answer to my questions:
    1. Did you just created a new wcp application in jdev and ran it with out doing any changes? If you have done what are the changes?
    2. How did you ran your application? (right clicking a particular page or right clicking your portal project and selected "run" option?

  • Timeout Creating App Server Connection in JDev 10.1.3 to OAS 10.1.3

    Hi All,
I'm trying to deploy an application to OAS 10.1.3 on a Solaris server from JDeveloper 10.1.3 on my laptop for the first time.
There are 2 OAS's installed on the Solaris unix server so the OPMN Port is one up from the default, and I've updated that to 6004, but I still get the following error on test:
Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-hadrian-6004-default:
Timed out (15000 ms) connecting to OPMN
hadrian is the server name and I can ping it from my pc, i've tried in the home oc4j and another that i've created, but still no luck.
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing or give me a hand troubleshooting this?
    Thanks,
    Tony

OK, I got this working by switching the Connection Type from "Oracle Application Server 10g 10.1.3" to "Standalone OC4J 10g 10.1.3"
This is a little confusing for me as I thought the only available 10.1.3 version of OAS was standalone. Is there a full 10.1.3 version available that I'm missing? And if not what is the difference between those 2 connection types.
It also appears that with the non-standalone conn type I would have been able to easily instructed it to place the app in another container with the "OC4J Instance Name" field. In the standalone connection this was not provided and I wonder how it determines which container to load it in.
Thanks for helping to clear this up for me,
    Tony

  • Create Application Server Connection

In the Wizards' Connection tab, if the Standalone OC4J is located in the same machine as the jdeveloper (basic my workstation), though my workstation is in a network.
1)Is it correct to enter localhost for the URL?
2)I leave the web site: http-web-site
    3)The directory for admin.jar is: c:\OC4J\j2ee\home
Why the Test Connection always returns: Connection refused: connect
I tried the URL for ormi://10.131.29.15/ which is the IP address of my workstation. Still the test connection failed.
Is it the http-web-site.xml problem? If so, how can I fix it.
    Or, something else?
    Thanks.
    Mike

    Yes you can.
    The URL syntax => ormi://hostname:port.
You can use ormi://localhost or ormi://10.131.29.15
The default ormi port is 23791
If you got error Connection refused: connect
it means that the URL can not be found or the OC4J.
    1. Check and fix the IP or just change it to localhost.
    2. Start Standalone OC4J
    D:\oraids10g\j2ee\home> java -jar oc4j.jar
    3. Try your new connection from JDev.
    Note to shutdown OC4J
D:\oraids10g\j2ee\home> java -jar admin.jar ormi://localhost admin welcome -shutdown
    Hope it helps,

  • How to create the BC4J Package in JDev 10g (with OAF)?

    Hi everbody.
    in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0
How to create the BC4J Package for Client Object or Server Object?
    In JDeveloper 9i Ext,
    1. select the Project in Navigator
    2. right-click and select "New Business Components Package... " from the context menu
    3. "Business Component Package Wizard" page appears.
In JDeveloper 10, I cannot find "New Business Components Package..." from the context menu on the Project.

Do you have the OA extension installed ?
If not then please follow the thread Oracle JDev 10g with OAExt for Release 12 now on Metalink
for more information in this regard.
