How to create Datasource using BW Cubes

Hi Experts !!!!!!!!!
How can we use the option origin type BW Cubes to create data source for segment builder, BW
provides some standard datasources(i.e.0CRM_LEAD_H) which has data related to transactions,
i dont know how i can use this for segment creation and proceed further.
Please give me some pointers regarding above, do i have to work around in BW client ??

Hi DD,
In order to create Data Source from thru Origin Type BW Cube you need to have Info Cubes created from Data Sources like 0CRM_LEAD_H which includes many fields(CRM Leads Header).
Once the Info Cube is created you will have to login to BEX Query Designer for which you need to have BEx installed in your Local PC.
You can create a new query with your info cubes from Info Areas. In the Query Designer once the Query is created with Drag and Drop functionalities and saved with a Descrition and Technical Name it will be available in the in the BW Report field during Data Source creation for Marketing.
Then we can proceed with our normal process of Segmentation.You need to work around with CRM-BW or External BW connected to CRM depending on your requirement.
Best bet is to take help of a BW Consultant in order to complete successfully.

Hi Balaji,
LSMW using IDOC is similar to using flat file method. Here you are getting data from IDOC container and mapping data with Idoc segments insted of flatfile column.

Sharepoint deployment is completely different. I don't think you can deploy any solution as wizard in prod so you have to first identify what you want to deploy.
If you just want to deploy only web application then backup/restore process is available in sharepoint. you can use STSADM or powershell to deploy your web app.

If there is any custom code or .NET code then create a WSP package and deploy it on prod. If you have multiple WSP's then create a batch file (as exe package) then run this package on prod.

How do I Create datasource using XE database?

Attempting to create an XE datasource for WebLogic 10.3.
Any suggestion would be appreciated - like - as to where can I find an XE driver. I have looked on OTN - Downloads - Drivers - JDBC and can find no XE driver.

Oracle XE is an Oracle DataBase so you can you use the jdbc driver (WLS/server/lib/ojdbc6.jar) provider by WebLogic 10.3 and create an Oracle DataSource using jdbc oracle url (ex: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:xe)

Here is the steps to creat a JNDI lookup using Datasource for MSSQL Server. Follow this and use necessary oracle parameters (in bold) as gives by me in the help link above.
Click DataSources in the same path i.e. server > services > JDBC connector
Click new driver or datasource.
Enter/ Set the following properties:
Main Tab
DataSource Name : KAAR_DS
Add Alias : KAAR
SRI
Driver Name : KaarSQLDriver
JDBC version :2.0 (with XA support)

DataSource Type : ConnectionPoolDataSource

It is done. Now you can use the JNDI look up name in your coding to access the database. Get connection and use the queries to fetch data from db.

Now we need to create a datasource, I create one copy a datasoucre by system standard datasource. When I check it,the short jump as follow:
1.Table SMOXRELP:segment is missing in BDOC;
2.Table SMOXRELP:field is missing in extract stucture
How to solve this error?

You mean generic datasource?
we create it from tcode rso2.
datasource name should start with Z as its a custom datasource.
use radio button appropriate..TD datasource or text or attr then enter datasource name and the click on create.
then fill relevant box..based on table or view or FM.
for table/view extract structure is created by system.
for FM u have to create ext structure manually.
then specify generic delta(if required).
then click save button.save in transport and assign relevant package.
then hide/unhide and do field settings in tcode rsa6.
then replicate datasources to BW and then do tr rules mappings in BW.

We are developing a system that connects to multiple databases by dynamically switching datasources, using ADF 12.1.3. Application is deployed on weblogic and glassfish.
There is no problem on switching and working on multiple datasources which is created previously on the application server (weblogic/glassfish).
Now we need to create a datasource while system is running.
Is it possible to create datasource programatically, and list datasource previously created?
Jdeveloper/ADF: 12.1.3.

Thank you for your response, but that is not what I was looking for.
I haven't any problem on changing datasources. I would like to create new datasource on application server.
On Andrejus's post, there is a comment about what I'm asking:
Syed : Nice Post. To enhace this more further. How can we get list of JDBC Data sources available in weblogic in the ADF Application.
Andrejus: By using WebLogic API this should be possible or by accessing MBean...
Is there any more-detailed blog post or doc, about "Weblogic API", "MBean" and using them to create datasource?
