How to create dropdown using VO

Hello Everyone,
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 . I am new to VO and have going to create simple dropdown using VO.
We have table called "MyTable" in the database which inclues the columns "First_name","Last_Name","Emp_id"(primary_key) .
In my .jspx page I have to create a simple dropdown list which includes First_Name only dynamically.
Please can anyone tell me the detailed procedure do i need to follow to create this, it will be helpful to start learning the business component.

Is the LOV going to be part of any other fields inside a form? For example, departmentsVO that has an EMP_ID (manager of department) and that you would like to create an LOV instead assigning the EMP_ID directly?
However, if what you really want is to display the LOV, then you need to create a Transient VO, for example, new ViewObject, give a name and select it to be based programatically (not in a query or EO). Then, you need to create a new Attribute (Emp_ID for example). And you finish the creation. Now, in your new transient VO attributes, select the emp_id and in the options you go to the tab List Of Values. Create a new one. It will ask you fthe object tou want the list to be based. Then you select MyTable and now you map emp_id with emp_id of myTable. Now you switch to the hints tab and select FirstName to be displayed on the list.
Last step is make sure your application module has the instance of your new Transient Atrribute so you can use it from the Data Control.
Go to your page, select emp id from your transient VO and drop it in the page as a SelectOneChoice.
Run your page.

Hi Balaji,
LSMW using IDOC is similar to using flat file method. Here you are getting data from IDOC container and mapping data with Idoc segments insted of flatfile column.

Hi,
You can create the vie in the physical layer of your repository, select "Select" from the dropdwan box when you create a new table. Next add the columns. They must have the same names as in your view.
If you don't have any other tables in your repository, created an alias of your view and make a "dummy" join with the original view. Next create your BM and PL.

It would be great if anybody share the idea of how to create the MQ and usage of same in BPEL Workflows.
is it mandatory to install websphere to create the MQ?

Hi,
Kindly refer to the BPEL Dev Guide and in that please refer to the Appendix which contains MQ Series Adapter.
For this you need to provide the details like: -
MQ Server Host, port, queue manager name etc. Also you need not to install IBM Websphere MQ, you can work on it remotely as well.

As far as I remember, Controls can be called only from Pageflows, BackingFiles, Another Control (Like control calling another control) etc. In pageflow we use annotation @Control and give control classname and a varialbe for that. I am pretty sure this annotation may not work from normal java class and in your case a JAVA JSR Class.
If you installed the samples, refer the samples from WLS: C:\beawlp103\wlserver_10.3\samples\server\examples\src\examples\webservices. They have lot of fully ready to work samples with instructions. I used clientgen ant task. But you can use standard SUN JDK Command "wsimport" also to generate the java files from the WSDL. Open any command prompt. If java is in classpath, just run wsimport and that should give an idea.

There is no reason why a properly written Java stored program cannot be used in APEX, provided that whatever it is doing makes sense in an APEX/web context, and isn't some nonsense like using DBMS_OUTPUT to generate a CSV.
I tried so many ways.But it is not fixed.Different Different errors will occurs.
