Bobby,
I am not aware of any tutorials on this, but there are probably many out there. [Edit] As John pointed out down thread.
My advice would be to gather up some blank paper, scissors, a ruler and pen. Create a New Image to the dimensions of an existing DVD insert at the ppi/dpi of your printer (probably around 200 - 240). Create a new Layer and turn the Grid on, with Snap to Grid on. Using your ruler, and maybe the pen to draw out the elements (front cover, back cover and spine), use the Pen Tool to recreate this layout. Choose Stroke Work Path (Path's Palette) to get guidelines. Remember to set your Pencil Tool and color before you Stroke Path so you can see your lines, in a color that will be obvious. This will be your layout and your "template," and should be Saved to a handly location on your system. Maybe even make a copy of it elsewhere, in case you forget to d a Save_As, when you start editing. You can even make notes to yourself as to orientation for each panel, etc. I'd put these layout items in a separate Layer Set for ease in the next operation. Take a look at your 8.5 x 11 paper (if that is what you'll print to) and lay your sample DVD insert over it to determine where you'll want your Crop Marks. I'd probably choose two sides, if you can print borderless, and then draw in the other two sides with a thin Stroke on another Layer. This one WILL be left ON, when you print, so you can take to them with the scissors.
Open your "template" and leave visibility ON for that Layer Set. Do your image and text work, based on that layout. During this process, you can turn OFF your Text Layers, with your "instructions" and annotations, to keep your view clean. When done, turn OFF visibility for the layout Layer Set, and send your image to your printer. Trim that output and insert it. Does it work? If not, modify the layout.
If you have a lot of different cases, do one for each and name accordingly. The secret is when you Open that template, immediately do a Save_As with your Project's name, as you do NOT was to Save over your template. That is why I suggested making a copy of each elsewhere - "stuff" happens. For most of my templates, I set their attributes to Read Only, and just click out of the warning message about having to Save with another name.
Good luck, and if I do find a tutorial, I'll post for you. Also, there may well be premade templates for common DVD cases, however as there are several, yours might/might not fit those. That is why I do them as I need them.

  • How to create DVD recovery on different language?

    I bought Satellite 655-149 with windows 7 64bit turkish, I would like to install windows XP russian. How to create DVD disk with drivers?

    Hey,
    I agree with the user above. The recovery disk that you create, contains the same language as preinstalled OS.
    For example if an English version is preinstalled, the recovery disk contains only English language.
    If you want another language you have to buy a new version of Windows 7.
    Last but not least on Windows 7 Ultimate you can use different language packs:

  • How to create dvd/cd image using super drive in MacBook Air

    I have MacBook Air and also Apple Supper drive for the same. can u help me to find dvd/cd burrning and copy software. and also guide me "how to create dvd/cd image using super drive in MacBook Air"

    First to create a video DVD you need to use DVD authoring software like iDVD.  You can purchase it from the online Apple Store while supplies last.
    For creating a disk image use Disk Utility.
    To burn items to a CD or data DVD just insert the disc in the optical drive and drag those items onto the disc icon on the Desktop.  Then drag the disc icon to the Trash icon in the Dock which changes to a Burn icon.

  • Can you create DVD covers in Pages?

    If pages doesnt have any DVD cover templates for DVD covers, is there any inexpensive software suitable for Apple?

    You don't really need software to make CD/DVD covers & labels. I have a CD Stomper & I think I tried their software back in OS 9. Other than clip art there isn't anything that you can't do in Pages. I've done mine for years in AppleWorks & just haven't moved it to Pages yet. Because I don't always use the same brand of labels, I just scan in the template sheet that comes with the labels & put that in my document to show me where the edges are.
    There are a couple of labeling programs available for the Mac, but their names escape me at the moment. You could always do a search on MacUpdate or
    VersionTracker.

    is there any way to burn a dvd for use without buying one of the apps? I thought that iLife included iDVD, but apparently it no longer does.

    If you're looking for simpler, cheaper, or open-source apps, try
    DVD Image Utility
    <http://geek.thinkunique.org/2007/07/17/dvd-image-utility/>
    Disco
    <http://discoapp.com/>
    no longer supported, but free, simple, and runs well under SL.
    LiquidCD
    <http://www.maconnect.ch/>
    free; iffy support, but, again, simple, and runs well under SL.
    Burn
    <http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html>
    open source; not clear how active development and support are, but runs well under SL.
    If you are a Terminal kind of guy, get
    mkisofs
    <http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/cdrecord.html>
    (part of the cdrtools kit)
    Use mkisofs to create the disc image, and burn it with hdiutil or drutil. (Some of the free options mentioned above actually use mkisofs.)
    Keep in mind that the list above is by no means exhaustive.

  • How to create DVD which auto-plays video (no menu)

    Subject pretty much says it all. Is it possible to create a DVD which simply plays a video without a menu (preferably looping the video)?

    Yes. After adding the slideshow to the iDVD project go to the Map mode and drag the video into the left hand bin "Drag content here to automatically play when the disk is inserted". With that slideshow selected go to the Advanced menu and select the Loop slideshow option.

  • How to create DVD image of Apple .dmg on Vista?

    hi all,
    I downloaded the SDK for ios from the Vista machine, and am hoping to burn the dvd iso image onto a disc so that the G3 powerbook/OSX can read it.
    Ive searched and tried several programs, MagicISO seemed to be able to but this feature requires the $34 purchase. i put the iso'd disc in the G3 and it didnt even see it.
    Another thing... in Vista its easy to look at the dvd drive by opening the explorer window, but in OSX nothing i could find would open some window to look at the dvd drive. it made a sound like it was trying to read the disc then gave up. In Vista if you click on the dvd icon it will give some error about the disc but in OSX does it simply not do anything?
    Well the important thing is to get this large image file onto a dvd so the G3 powerbook can read it, thanks for any suggestions!

    Don't bother. The SDK can only be used on an Intel Mac. If for some reason you want to do it anyway, don't convert the dmg. Just burn it as if it was any type of file.

    Only programs such as the System Profiler and Disk Utility will show a drive when it has no available volumes on the Mac.

  • Creating DVD menus in Encore CS4

    I have only very briefly experimented with trying to create a DVD menu for my Premier Pro CS4/Encore CS4 projects.  I must say I have found it not at all intuitive.
    Can anyone please:
    1: Recommend a nice clear tutorial on how to create DVD menus in PPro CS4/Encore CS4
    and/or:
    2:  Recommend a nice simple not-too-costly programme with which I can create DVD menus from my PPro CS4/Encore CS4 projects.
    The menus which come with Encore seem pretty naff, too.  If anyone can recommend some simple software which has nicer ones I'd be grateful.
    Thanks all!

    Unless PSE 9 has changed things, the big limitation in using Photoshop Elements is that it cannot create the Button Layer Sets, but can edit them, from the Library Menus. Photoshop has no such limitation.
    I do not know if GIMP can do the Menus, but it is often recommended as a free alternative for PS. As I have PS, I have not even seen that program in decades.
    One additional source for pre-made Menus is Muvipix. These are free to subscribers, and for sale to non-subscribers. Also, they are done as PrE Menu Sets, but can be broken down and modified to function as stand-alone Menus for Encore.
    There is a source for pre-made Menus, in the UK, but last time I checked they were heavily weighted to weddings.
    Personally, I just start with a Library Menu, and modify/build what I need in PS.
    Good luck,

  • How to Create a DVD With No Menu?

    hi there.
    i've had DVD Studio Pro for a while and never used it.
    would it be to hard to give me a step-by-step guidance on how to create a DVD from a QuickTime file in DVD Studio Pro (initially, in the form of a VIDEO_TS folder or IMG file) with no menus at all, so that it's played straight away once inserted into a stand-alone DVD player?
    anyone, please?

    If you are starting in SD and can use compressor, that works better: there are more knobs to twist to adjust the results to your liking. Going from HD to SD, I think compressor or a third party encoder is a must. Just too many things to tweek to get it right for the video you shot.
    AC3 has another advantage in addition to file size: bit rate. There is a limit on what DVD players will handle - usually less than 10mb/s. And if you can have video + audio well under that, you disc will be compatible with more players. If can always put both on the DVD, and use a menu to let a user pick one, but you don't want menus yet, as you said. Many music DVDs do just that: PCM for best fidelity (it is noticeable on a really high end system that most mortals don't have), or DD, even 5.1 for everyone else.
    Encoding: I use 7.5mb/s max for video, and adjust the "average" depending on how big my video is; I've used as low as 4.2 for stage plays and it was not too bad. If you have a short video, you might use CBR (contstant bit rate) at 7.5 for the best quality. I likewise adjust my AC3 bit rate; 192 stereo where I must save space and the original sound quality was not great anyway, up to whatever the max is (384, I think).

    How can I create DVD label using Photoshop Elements 10?
    Richard

    You can create the design for a DVD label in Create>More Options. Once you have the label set up, you would copy it to a template for the labels you plan to use. (The PSE template makes one label, while most printed labels are two-up.)

  • How to Create Oracle Linux 5.7 64 bit Bootable DVD

    Hi Guru's,
    I have downloaded the OEL 5.7 64 bit from E-delivery.
    Below are the 2 zip filesV27570-01.zip and V27572-01.zip.
    I have extracted the V27570-01.zip and it's contained another zip called 'OracleLinux-R5-U7-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso'.
    If I extract the 'OracleLinux-R5-U7-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso' file then following folders and files exists.
    Folders - Cluster,ClusterStorage,images,isolinux,Server,VT.
    Files - .discinfo,.treeinfo,blafdoc.css,EULA,eula.en_US,eula.py,GPL etc.
    Could you please help me to create a bootable DVD for OEL 5.7 64 bit.
    Shall i just burn the DVD with OracleLinux-R5-U7-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso zip file?
    I am unable to understand how to create the bootable DVD for OEL 5.7 using those two zip files(V27570-01.zip and V27572-01.zip).
    Somebody can help me step by step to create a bootable DVD for OEL 5.7.
    Thanks in advance

    What possible reason could there be to install OL 5.7 since 5.9 is already available?
    Anyway, you do not need the source distribution or any boot CD. The standard installation DVD (V36332-01) is bootable and contains the necessary installation packages.
    If the download file has a .zip file name extension you need to unzip the ISO image before burning it to DVD. The download of version 5.9 is no longer zipped. In any case, before burning the ISO image file, make sure the file you download is not corrupted. You can check the "View Digest" page from the Oracle edelivery software download page and verify the checksum with the file you downloaded.
    The checksum must match, otherwise the downloaded file cannot be used.
    Under Microsoft Windows, see the following knowledgebase article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290
    Under Linux and Mac OSX:
    $ openssl sha1 oracle_linux.iso
    To burn the ISO image:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file
    For Apple Mac OS X and older versions of MS Windows:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Burn-ISO-Files-to-DVD
    If you use any Type 2 virtualization software, such as VirtualBox, you do not need to burn any DVD and can use the ISO file directly.

  • How to create custom Templates in DVD-SP?

    Hi, I was wondering how to create my own custom menus/menu templates in dvdsp. Whenever I import something for the menu, It will crop it automatically and will not allow me to re arrange it to show the full clip/image. Any info on creating custom templates would be very appreciated. Thank you, and although new to the apple forums, I am hoping to make my stay long while learning an abundance of information and hopefully helping others with any knowledge I may have.

    Just remember...it will take weeks or months or even years to get proficient in designing good menus. This isn't something you just sit down and decide to do in a afternoon. DVDSP is only an authoring tool...its not for design work...and amendments need to be done in PS then reimported back into DVDSP>
