How to create editable select box in jsp page

hi,
i got som peculiar requirement in my jsp page.i have my page like this.

this is one of the select box in my jsp page.
now i want to change the look and feel of select box..
1-dont want to show the scrollbar means the right side arrow which allows to see the total options in select box.
it should look like normal text box.
2-roveer apert from the existing values if there is no matching value user must be allowed to enter his own value in above select box..
how i can solve this problen..

Is that maybe a browser memory auto-complete thing? It works on Netscape 7.2. But no, it's not a browser auto-complete thing (does NS have that? IE does... either way, I would've disabled that). It's definitely a Javascript trick, I'm sure of that. I know I haven't sent mail to all people in my address book from my work PC, but it doesn't stop them from showing in the list as I type...
Unless there is a special HTML tag option or browser extension that I've never heard of that allows you to supply a set of values to a text input field for auto-completion (as opposed to the browser remembering what was typed).

The following can assist u to create a drop down ....
Drop down list box can be created in a dialog screen(SE51) as well as selection screen.
The sap list box allows to select a value from the list but we cannot enter our own value in the list box .The value list that will be displayed consists of two
fields TEXT field of TYPE 80(C) and internal KEY field of TYPE 40(C).
In screen painter to create a input/output field into list box we use
'L" as a value for dropdown attribute for the i/o field.
In screen painter to determine the type of method that will be used to fill the value
list we use the attribute value list.
If it is blank the value list will be filled by the first column of the input help assigned to the screen field.This input help can be defined in the ABAP Dictionary, on screen using SELECT,VALUES screen statements or in event POV (PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST ) and the input help that will be passed to the field should consists of 2 columns ,the key column is filled automatically by the system.SAP recommends value list field should be blank.

The value can be 'A' meaning that the value list will be filled in the event PBO(PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT) or before the screen is displayed.In this method we use function module VRM_SET_VALUES to fill the values and pass it to the i/o field.
If a function code is attached to the list box the selection of a value triggers a PAI
otherwise PAI will not trigger.

How do I create editable text boxes in a pdf that I uploaded to Acrobat? I can only fill and sign at this point (but have a subscription to Adobe).

Wondering how to create a text box with variables...

Hi everyone,
I was wondering how to create a text box, that at the beginning of the presentation, the audience fills in regarding what they think constitutes the role they have been chosen for.
I would like that same box to then appear at the end of the presentation, with the text they typed in at the beginning, so they can reflect on what they think now, and what they thought then. I understand this is done using variables, but i'm not 100% sure.
I hope I've worded this okay!

This screenshot shows the properties panel, Style tab for the TEB. I relabeled it to My_TEB, used the X button to create a user variable v_choice that will replace the generic Text_Entry_Box_1/
This is the properties panel of a Shape, I went in Edit mode (double clicking)to make the Character section appear, where you find the X button. It opens the dialog box 'Insert Variable' and you can choose the var associated with the TEB. The Maximum Length will define how many characters will be displayed, the value of a variable has maximum 256 characters.

Try RANGES.
The RANGES has same structure as that of select-options.

Steps to get SELECT-OPTIONS in module pool programs.
1.Start one dialog program with SAPMZ_001.
Place the below code in the TOP include of the dialog program.
TABLES marc.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 3200 AS SUBSCREEN.
SELECT-OPTIONS: werks FOR marc-werks.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 3200.
2 .Create one screen 3000.
Go to Layout of the screen and Define subscreen area on the screen and Name it as l_subscreen.
Place the below code in the Flow logic of the screen.
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
CALL SUBSCREEN l_subscreen INCLUDING 'SAPMZ_001' '3200'.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
CALL SUBSCREEN l_subscreen.
Activate all.
Create Transaction code for the dialog program .
Execute the transaction code. You will see the select-option for werks how we see on Selection-screen.

Creating Dynamic select boxes

Can we create dynamic select boxes which will change when the user selection changes. How many levels we can go about.
For example
we have one combo box named states--> depending upon the states selected the corresponding districts should be shown in the other combo box, and when the user selects a district it should show the corresponding villages or towns and further..
Can we do it without ajax concept. if yes how?
If we have to use ajax one level is easy how to go about two or three levels.

ya it is possible to change values of Combobox depending on the value changed in another combobox.
it is possible when you implement Model and by reference of that
model you can change values of that combobox such as.
model1.removeAllItems();
model1.addItemAt(location); etc

I think that all you need to do is to look at how I implemented the dependent detail for querying the Employees select items
Then you make sure the DepartmentsVO and the EmployeesVO have bind variable to query them according to the pre-selected value in their respective master list

(All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

I am creating a database application in APEX 4.0. In that application a page requires a dialog box, which has to appear when a user clicks on Submit button.
It has to consider validations and appear after validations and submit button is clicked. Here the Submit button submits the entire page after validations by updating the database table.

Provided link is much more helpful, but its not meeting my needs. My requirement is to just show a popup box after the user clicks on submit button.
Saying 'Thank you for answering' if he is done with all questions or if he has more questions to answer pop up with different message 'You have more questions to answer'.
In both the cases page as to get submitted when clicked on Submit button.

Open the query in a query designer -> in the left hand side you would find the fiscal year period under the time dimension -> right click -> create variable -> create the variable.
The better option would be use any of the SAP provided variable. You would find them under the Fiscal year period in the left hand side in the query designer.
