How to Create Roaming Profile(s) For Windows Workgroups

This Tutorial Shows how to create roaming profile(s) for Windows Workgroups.
Here are the steps in order to do this:
On the host PC:
1. Goto 'Folder Options'>'View' and un-tick 'Use Simple File Sharing'.
2. Goto Network Connections and right click on the 'Local Area Connection' (Ethernet recommended)
3. Goto Properties>General, and tick 'File and Printer Sharing'.
Click Apply + Ok.
4. Goto Control Panel>User Accounts, add a new user.
5. Logon to this user, and open the profile folder properties.
5b. Share this folder.
6. Make the Share permissions so that 'everyone' has: Full Control, Read, Change.
Click Apply + Ok.
7. Click on 'Caching' and disable Caching for this Share.
Click Ok.
8. Now goto the 'Security' tab and give 'Administrator' and 'SYSTEM' 'Full Control'.
Click Apply + Ok.
On the remote PC(s):
1. Make the same User as on the Host.
1b.Logon to the account and log back out again. Delete the profile folder from 'Documents and Settings'.
3. Give 'SYSTEM': 'Read','Read and Execute','List Folder Contents' to the 'Administrators' Profile
4. Type 'lusrmgr.msc' into run, goto: 'Users', double click on the new user and goto the 'Profile' tab.
4b. In the 'Profile Path' box, type \\hostPCname\ProfileName.
Click Apply + Ok
*Note* Replace the \\path\ accordingly to what names are on your Host PC.
5. Goto regedit>HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion. Double click
on 'ProfileList'.
Find which key is for the new user. (Example S-1-5-21-58435627-18431725-18026167-1003)
6. Right click that key and goto: 'Permissions' and give 'SYSTEM' 'read'.
*Note* Once you logon to the roaming profile from the remote PC for the first time you can undo this step.
7. goto GPEdit>Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/User Profiles:
Enable these settings:
'Do not check for user ownership of roaming profile folders'
'Delete cached copies of roaming profiles'
'Log users off when roaming profile fails'
"Add the Administrators security group to roaming profiles'
'Prevent roaming profile changes from propagating to the server'
7b. Make 'Timeout for dialog boxes' '1' (seconds)
8. goto: Computer Configuration/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options:
Make 'Number of previous logons to cache (if server is unavailable) '0'
Now you're ready to login to the Profile on the remote PC.
*Note* Sometimes, when windows loads it takes a minute for the profile folder to become shared again.

How to create Creation Profile

Hello all Gurus,
Can someone please tell me how to create "Creation Profile" and use them in MM scheduling agreement? I have an issue, where the user wants 2 separate creation profiles to be created so that the demands should be sent to suppliers on Thursdays and Fridays only. I maintained the creation profiles in SPRO -- MM -- Purchasing -- Scheduling Agreement -- Maintain Creation Profile for Scheduling agreement with rel. doc. But these creation profiles doesn't seems to work. What are the extra steps that we need to carry out once the creation profiles are created and then maintained in MM scheduling agreement?
If you have any knowledge on creation of CREATION PROFILES please share it with me. It will be very much helpful for me.

In this step, you can define the release creation profile.
The latter is an instrument for determining which criteria are used to generate releases against a scheduling agreement and transmit them to the vendor.
You assign the creation profile to the scheduling agreement item in the additional data.
The creation profile controls the creation periodicity of the releases and - starting from the current date of release creation - the way in which the quantities are aggregated.
In the release creation profile, you can define
o   General Parameters
-   Which creation strategy is the basis for JIT delivery schedules and scheduling agreements.
-   How backlog and immediate requirements are taken into account during release creation.
o   Aggregation and release horizon
-   If and how schedule lines should be aggregated during release creation.
o   Release creation periodicity
-    With which periodicity scheduling agreement releases are created
o   Tolerance profile
-    That for releases created as a result of changed schedule lines, the system performs a tolerance check
o   Internet release
-    Whether an Internet release is created during release creation

How to create employee BP role in PCUI.

Dear Experts,
We are trying to maintain case mangement system for employees in CRM but how to create BP with employee role in PCUI. In standard structure only Customer,Prospect,Consumer,& Competitor roles are available.
Is there anyway to directly create Employees in PCUI or replicate emplyee in PCUI after creating in GUI.??
OR,
Is there any functionalities in CRM to capture Cases or complaints of employees with workflow escalations.

Which version of CRM are you using? Not sure about PCUI...In CRM 5.1 we are using UI and that option is available...you can create the Employee in UI. You can create the business role and can assign the corresnding profiles to it.

How to create a profile set for a campaign.

HI Friends,
I am working on CRM 7.0.
My requirement is to create a Batch program for campaign creation and automation.
i have used the class 'cl_crm_mktpl_appl_base' to copy the existing campaign .
It copied the entire target groups,campaign elements, profile sets.
My requirement is for the created campaign id, i need to create a profile set in that i need to create target goups.
Fm : BAPI_PROFILESET_CREATE is not helpful for me in my case.bacause it is asking parent guid ..etc...
I have ony one guid ,ie. campaign guid . if i give this in parent guid it is thriwing error.
can any suggest how to create a custom profile set.
If any one worked on this batch program please reply to this thread.

How to create a profile value at user level programatically

Dear all,
I want to create a profile value at user level programatically, I refer to the developer guide and try to use fnd_profile.put() to create a new value.
But I find out the value is just created in session level, not be inserted into base table.
So is there anyone know how to realize this function in PL/SQL?
Any idea is appreciated.

Hi Kamlesh,
To create your Alert profile you need to use DEFAULT meta model. Here you need to use some JavaScript code too. The following are some more steps (example),
1. Go to transaction code: CRMC_CIC_AM_PROFILE then enter your New Profile name (e.g.: ZAPROFILE) and choose F5 (Create new profile).
2. Fill the description in properties tab.
3. Select Global Data tab and add var global_str = "Hi, "
4. Select Functions tab and add function
crm400_09(str)
return sap_scripting_message(global_str + str);
5. In the tree double click on SEARCH_TARGET_FOUND and add cr400_09(bp1.bp1_mcname1); in the rule tab
6. Check the syntax error in all the above steps (you have an icon for this)
7. Save
8. Add AM component to your framework id
9. Assign AM profile to your IC WinClient Profile
10. Test.

How to create a profile to control the access to Query Designer 2004s

Hi all,
I saw the note Note 962530 - NW04s: How to restrict access to Query
Designer 2004s , where in alternative solution there is the approach on
how to create a database table and modify the function module to control the access.
However, we need to a security profile check that can prevent or allow
who can access 04s tools. Because this is easy to maintain and we don't need to modify the database table time to time.
Please update if it is feasible to have a check within the profile
of the users to acces 04s query desinger. This way we can control
effectively who can access new tools.

I can suggest that as this is a Security you might wanna ask the Person who is handling Security in your office.
He can add different Roles which can then control their acess.
For e.g. if you want that your user should be able to run Specific Queries a,b,c,d created by you.
I will suggest interact with SEcurity Personal and ask him to create a Role X.
You can then publish your queries in Role X.
So your users will have acess and security for X and they will then run the queries from them.
Likewise, different other options are also there.
If your queries are on Planning cube then things like giving them acess to Tools should take place similarly in different fashion.
Your user can also use Query desinger and can opne queries from Roles .

How to create preflight profile "Droplet"

I want to create the preflight profile to display the information as in the screen shot as a preflight report. kindly advice.

Select the Preflight profile, then click the Options menu (upper right) and select Create Preflight Droplet.
You'll want to specify two folders, one for files which succeed when the profile is run, and one for those which fail. I usually save these folders on the desktop.
Save the droplet (I usually save it on the Desktop). Then drag PDF files onto the droplet. It will run the profile and pass the resulting files to either of those two folders.

How to create dataset profil to retrieve serial number (and more) of unknown/unsupported devices?

Hi,
We do have few non Cisco devices we need to keep track also at least using serial number. I saw some HP Procurve devices are able to be collected but we have for instance Riverbed steelhead appliances that are just missing serial number (ie. OS version, Vendor name are properly collected).
I did tried to create a custom dataset and platform definition rule but I'm not sure how to match OID request result with Collector Serial Number field.
The online help didn't help me this why I'm asking to the community. Any idea?
BTW, are we allowed the share custom dataset/platforms definitions on this forum?

Given that the target devices here are Non Cisco devices, We would like to focus on that a little bit. Information about network devices from other vendors may appear in some Smart Net Total Care reports. SNTC gathers only basic information that can be obtained from standard SNMP MIBs from non-Cisco devices. Third party devices are not fully processed and analyzed the way Cisco devices are, and are shown in reports only to account for all the IP addresses the customer asked to be collected. In these reports they are clearly marked as third party.
If the same questions applies to Cisco devices, we will be happy to address that

Hi,
The network profile contains default values and parameters for controlling the processing of networks,
such as control keys for activities.
The data which you enter here in the network profile is copied into the header, activities, and activity
elements when you create a network. You can overwrite these values in each new network.
Examples
o To be able to call up the network structure graphic, you must have entered a graphic profile in the
network profile.
o To be able to create a project version for the network, you must have entered a version profile in the
network profile.
You enter the different values you need for the network profile in different Customizing areas. For
example, in Customizing for the Project System, you enter the control keys, but you make the settings for
graphics in the Basis IMG by choosing Frontend Services -> Bar Chart and Network/Hierarchy.
Notes
o These control or profile parameters determine the functionality of certain areas and cannot be
changed without effecting existing objects.
o If you want to work with entry help, you must enter a sequence key for activities.
You should maintain the following sections in the network profile:
o Network parameters
o Activity parameters
Standard settings
The standard R/3 System contains network profiles preset with the most important parameters.
Activities
1. Enter the organizational and control data for your networks.
2. Create the corresponding network profiles.
