I have found lots of time regarding epub in indesign, but couldn't get full details tutorials on any other blogs. I would like each and every step in details in indesign.
Could you please send me link so I will complete my epub book in indesign.

How to create RTL Books in inDesign (Japanese)?

Hi there,
I want to create a RTL book in Japanese. I do not speak Japanese and I have the english version of indesign. I am downloading the Japanese version now, so maybe I will have two types but the thing is I can not speak Japanese.
Is there any way to do RTL books in inDesign CS6 ? It does not matter if I can not type Japanese, I will be using images only.

There are two or three different ways to get spine-right binding, depending on which version of ID you're using, and I have no idea whatsoever where that feature is buried in the Japanese version. Honestly, I don't even know if there's an English localization of the interface of Japanese ID.
The short version is that there's no way to get spine-right binding with plain-vanilla English ID, although you can probably pull it off with a script, and there are a number of plugins that will let you access InDesign's under-the-hood features. You're probably best off with something like an English install of InDesign and something like World Tools Pro.
But that link that Steve pointed you towards is pretty all-inclusive. Check out the "Choosing the Right Application" section - it should get you pointed in the right direction.

The flip book out of InDesign is cool - but I have not been able to find a way to create it so that it starts with a single page, rather than a spread (with a blank white page opposite the cover). Any help appreciated.

Currently, there isn't a direct way to make the cover page a single page through InDesign. You'll need to 'fake' it by fill the left side (first page) of the spread the same color as the background of your web page.

How to create a book (Diplomawork) with InDesign

Hi all
I will finish a very important diploma at the end of October. I am wondering how I can create a 'book' with InDesign?
It should just be like a normal book with Summary, Glossary, and so on. If this is possible with InDesign, how can I do that?
Will I first need to finish the document with word and then 'just copy paste' or is it possible to write it in InDesign with a dynamic
summary and all that?

totally agree with you I know that it is a fantastic application. I'm IT and I know Dreamweaver and Fireworks from the past. Great software. But in oder to deep my knowledge I would like to start with e.g. a good think just like my Deplomawork.
At the end is must lust like this and I'm sure that InDesign ist just right for that. I'm also sure that for the final printing I must take care of 100drets of things regarding the formatting or the documents. And here my quistions start. At the end it should look just similar to something like that (fotos below).
Could you guide me a little?

For the common template with the company logo-->This code basically updates the RS table rsrwbtemplate which has the default workbook template information with the templae you specify.
IF you want to insert the logo in the work book template

Workbooks into which queries are inserted are no different in appearance than other Excel workbooks. They can be saved as files, copied, sent and (using Excel functions) edited however you like and even supplemented with other data.
Ad-hoc query is the one that the user/developer would want to create/use for researching/validating something. This may be to validate the data also. This differs from Production query as it would not be used everyday and would be just be used for that moment.

I have a table of detailed polygons (100+ vertices) and I want to get generalized version of these polygons.
For example, assume I have a polygon with 100 vertices. Distance between vertex n and n+1 is 1.0.
I want to get geometry (generalized polygon, line or point) where distance between vertex n and n+1 is 10.0 or more (I want vertices to be considered as one vertex if distance between them is less then 10.0).
Is it possible to create generalized version of polygons on the fly?

Scenario A:
If all of your polygons have no interaction among them (No polygon shares any boundary with any other ones).
In this case you can use the sdo_util.simplify in 10g to reduce the vertices in your polygons which returns new polygon geometries on the fly.
If you found that simplify is not doing exactly what you want, you can always roll out your own implementation using PL/SQL or the new SDOAPI JGeoemtry class in Java. Both will give you complete access to the coordinate arrays in a polygon and update them back to the database after you have simplified them in your code.
Scenario B:
If your polygons share boundaries, then the above methods will not work since the simplification process may not preserve the topology among your polygons. What you can do then is to use the Java topo package to create a new topology by adding all of your polygons to to an empty topology (which you first create in the database and then load into memory using oracle.spatial.topo.TopoMap). Once you have a topology built in the memory, you can use methods such as oracle.spatial.topo.TopoMap.changeEdgeCoords() to simplify the edges of your polygons. You can then recreate the simplified polygons from the topology. This is just a rough guide; for more details you need to check out the java doc for the various packages mentioned above which are shipped with 10g spatial.

I can't reach the file at the link you gave (bcvrf.yahoo.com not found) so I can't tell quite what you're trying to do. Can you provide a bit more detail? Are you using the ER modeler or the schema diagram? If you're modeling tables in the schema diagram then the answer is you can't - there must be a foreign key at one end and that is always represented as a 'many'. To enforce a 1:1 relationship you must add code (probably in the server), for example, db triggers.

How to create an ebook using InDesign?

I know how to lay out a book, I've done it before. But I feel like there maybe something special for ebooks. What size is needed? Do I put facing pages or single pages? It seems like single works, but with the ipad I have seen facing pages that people "flip" through. Does the text somehow flow differently through pages depending on your tablet and zoom level? I asked questions on another forum and someone answered with "not splitting text into explicit pages as e-readers are all different and people may have different zoom factors" ...how does one do that?
OR, is it as simple as creating a layout in InDesign and exporting a PDF? Because I can do that!
Background info: I found a job posting on a student website (I'm a student) to lay out an ebook for someone. Can I just create them an amazing pdf? Or am I in way over my head?
***EDIT: So I have just sorta found out what ePub means. According to wikipedia:
"EPUB is designed for reflowable content, meaning that the text display can be optimized for the particular display device used by the reader of the EPUB-formatted book, although EPUB now also supports fixed-layout content."
Which I think is my whole issue. So, if I create a layout and export it as an ePub, does it then become a proper ebook that fits peoples displays? Do I make a pdf then turn it into an ePub? I'm guessing my Indesign & Adobe come with an "ePub" button?

The reason Bob has to ask is because 'ebook' is a pretty vague concept. It's an "electronic book", i.e., a text that can be read on an electronic device.
PDF is a *pretty* safe bet, because that will ensure all people have to do is make sure they can read a PDF on their e-device.
It's also non-reflowable, just like a regular PDF (not entirely true, by the way, but pretty much).
"E-Pub" is the common format for dedicated devices such as the Kindle and the Sony reader, and is what iBooks on iPhone and iPad use. This *is* a reflowable format, and (depending on the device and software) usually you can change the font size and type to taste.
DPS is Adobe's own version, and you can do lots of interesting things with it. It requires Adobe's own DPS reader. Search the Adobe web site for more information on this.
You can produce a PDF right away with InDesign (don't use "Press Quality" settings for obvious reasons). You can export to the common e-pub format as well, but in that case you'd better investigate a bit deeper than can be answered in this forum, because all you get in that case is a pretty basic layout. Using other software, you can edit and enhance ID's output -- you cannot create any e-pub right away with InDesign any way you like it, it's not "an epub editor".
For DPS, I suggest you first take a look at what's possible and then what it will cost you.
