How to create exact copy of a table

Hello,
I must admit my "google skills" have failed me and it is possible that I might be missing something obvious here but allow me to explain.
If I have a table that is populated/accessed by a typical OLTP application such that over time the data in the table may become "fragmented".
I know that is a very controversial term I used but that is not the question here. A simple way to describe the state of the table might be
that the table has always been populated with lots of small INSERTs, modified with lots of small UPDATEs and data has been deleted in small DELETEs.
This has meant that the data is neither closely stored in data blocks nor is in any particular order (so there are some empty blocks under HWM).
Now my question is how do I create exact copy of this table and its indexes AS THEY EXIST AT THE MOMENT that includes
1) its data
2) its constraints/indexes etc.
3) its storage parameters
4) data stored in EXACTLY same manner as in original table.
To avoid complications, the table in question is just a normal heap table without any partitioning involved. While CREATE TABLE AS SELECT (or CREATE
TABLE followed by INSERT) will take care of points (1) to (3) above, it will not achieve point (4) above.
Can somebody please help?

SQL> create table new_table_name as select * from old_table_name ;will create the new table with data populated. You need to create any primary key/foreign keys, constraints and indexes afterwards.
if you are on 9i or later, you can also use dbms_metadata.get_ddl to get the complete ddl for the existing table and change the table name and constraint names to get exact structure as the old one.

How to make a copy of a table?

I wonder how to get a copy of a table in apex.
At first I think there must be created a page process. The sql-code would be Create table "TABLE2" as select * from TABLE1. But the page process must be defined as an PL/SQL anonymous block and unfortunately my knowledge of PL/SQL is very small. Could anybody advise me which code for the anonymous block has to be taken for that?

Imagine your accounting department runs a normal bookkeeping. There are some bookings which occur month for month or quarter by quarter. The accountant mourns that he has to give in always the same data and my idea is to tell him that we will take a second table with these repeating bookings and once a month he unions this table with the master table to get the complete ledger. But we cannot use the repeat-table itself because it may differ from month to month. So we have to take a copy table for one month and next month we need a new copy. This means that we have to provide 12 tables for a year with 12 regions what is not so horrible as it sounds as we can use hide&show regions.

2 Choose 5th option Transaction with parameters
3 Give transaction : SM30, Check Skip Initial Screen Press Enter
4 Goto Bottom left corner, click F4 select viewname, on right hand side give table name
5 Press one more time F4, choose update , mark it X on right side.
6 save the transaction.

so i create 3 page . I copy from page 1.
and in each page there is main window which can have data more than 1 page.(such as have a lot of sale data ,it's take 2 page for show output .so it's take 2 page in each copy)

Hi,
You need to create a custom message type and custom IDOC type for this with whatever fields you want send. You need to create segments (WE30), IDOC type (WE30), Message types (WE81) and assign the message type to the IDOC type (WE82).
You will have trigger the IDOC using a Report or something after doing the partner profile settings.
Similary in the target system also, you will have do all the settings.

You can't - that isn't possible. Unless a table is already partitioned you can NOT create another partition on it.
You must either redefine the table as a partitioned table (using the DBMS_REDEFINITION package) or create a new partitioned table and move the data to its new partitions.
The choice will depend on how much data the existing table has and whether you can do it offline.

The way I do it is rather simple.
1.       Copy the local RoboHelp project to a new location.
2.       Remove the link to source control. (See http://www.robowizard.com/RoboWizard/MonthlyScry/102004.htm on how to do this without opening RoboHelp. Please follow these instructions.)
3.       Open the RoboHelp project and add it to source control as a new project.
By creating a copy of the entire project directory, ALL the content is retained.

[ADF Help] How to create a view for multiple tables

I am using Jdeveloper 11G and ADF framework, and trying to create a view to update multiple tables.
ex:
Table A has these fields: ID, Name
Table B has these fields: ID, Address
A.ID and B.ID are primary keys.
B.ID has FK relationship with A.ID
(basically, these tables have one-to-one relation)
I want to create a view object, which contains these fields: B.ID (or A.ID), A.Name, B.Address.
So I can execute C,R,U,D for both tables.
I create these tables in DB, and create entity objects for these tables.
So there are 2 entity objects and 1 association.
Then I create a view object based on B and add fields of A into the view:
If the association is not a "Composition Association",
when I run the model ("Oracle Business Component Browser") and try to insert new data, fields of A can't edit.
If the association is a "Composition Association", and click the insert button, I will get
"oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25030: Failed to find or invalidate owning entity"
If I create a view object based on A and add filed of B into the view:
When I run the model and try to insert new data, fields of B can't edit, no matter the association is or is not a composition association.
So... how can I create a view for multiple tables correctly?

Thanks, but the result is same ....
In the step 2 of creating view object, I can select entity objects to be added in to the view.
If I select A first, and then select B (the "Source Usage" of B is A), then finishing the wizards.
When I try to create a new record in the view, I can't edit any properties of B (those files are disabled).
If I select B first, and then select A in crating view object, the result is similar ...

How to CREATE VIEW to merge two tables each of which has CLOB-typed column

I failed in creating a view to merge two tables that have CLOB-type column each.
The details are:
Database: Oracle 9i (9.2.0)
Two tables "test" and "test_bak", each of which has the following structure:
ID Number(10, 0)
DUMMY VARCHAR2(20)
DUMMYCLOB CLOB
The following operation fails:
create view dummyview (id, dummy, dummyclob) as
select id, dummy, dummyclob from test
union
select id, dummy, dummyclob from test_bak;
I was announced:
select test.id, test.dummy, test.dummyclob
ERROR in line 2:
ORA-00932: inconsistent data type: required - , but CLOB presented.
But if creating views from only ONE table with CLOB-type columns, or from two tables WITHOUT CLOB-typed columns, the creation will succeed. The following 1) and 2) will succeed, both:
1) one table, with CLOB-typed column
create view dummyview (id, dummy, dummyclob) as
select id, dummy, dummyclob from test;
2) two tables, without CLOB-typed columns
create view dummyview (id, dummy) as
select id, dummy from test
union
select id, dummy from test_bak;
I want to merge the two tables all, with complete columns, how to write the CREATE VIEW SQL statement?

But you could do this:
SELECT source.*, nvl (tab1.clob_column, tab2.clob_column)
FROM your_table1 tab1, your_table2 tab2, (
SELECT primary_key, ...
FROM your_table1
UNION
SELECT primary_key, ...
FROM your_table2
) source
WHERE source.primary_key = tab1.id (+)
AND source.primary_key = tab2.id (+)
In other words, do the set operation (UNION (ALL)/INTERSECT/MINUS) on just the PK columns before pulling in the LOB columns.

How to create xml file from relational tables in 10gR2

Hi,
I am very new to XML and was wondering how to create an XML file from querying relational tables. Some child tables may contain multiple rows that need to be returned in certain instances. Other queries will just be single or multiple rows from one or more tables. I would like to use the latest feathers in 10gR2. Thanks for any help you can provide.

First Create a node for ur table.In that give your table name in the dictionary structure then select option add attributes from the structure that will display the fields there u can select the fields then automatically attributes for ur table will be created in the context.
