How to create Handling Unit using Process Order no. & Packing Instruction

Hi experts,
Please guide me how to create Handling Unit using Process Order number & Packing Instruction reference?Noramlly this is done using standard transaction 'COWBPACK'.
ANY FUNCTION MODULE OR BAPI TO DO THIS.
if any solution please explain with proper example..

I created Handling Units with BAPI_HU_CREATE , Pack materials with BAPI_HU_PACK in to Handling Untis and assign handling units to sales order with BAPI_HU_CHANGE_HEADER . But These BAPIs are not doing packing sales order line items in to handling units . I have to go sales order and do sales order line item packing by clicking packing button.
Could you please help on how to do packing Sales Order Line items in the background with BAPIs.

Create Handling unit after receiving finished goods from production

My client's requirement is that they do not want a TR or TO to get created at the time of Production order confirmation and neither they want to create the Handling unit at the time of confirmation.
They want to move the material from production to warehouse as one Handling unit after multiple confirmations. They want to create Handling unit manually after the receipt of materials.
What is the process of creating Handling unit after we have FG (multiple batches).
After creation of Handling units, my client wants to ship the same Handling unit out to customer.

Hi,
If I understand right - customer wants a simple transfer of finished goods from production to warehouse, and latter pack into handling units.
Possible scenario:
1) Assign production order to non-WM and non-HU storage location. Post GR for production order using transaction MIGO (mvmt. type 101) for a whole quantity produced for production order.
2) Setup packing table in IMG (Logistic General > Handling Units > General > Setup packing table> ...) --> packing table is a functionality for packing goods into HU - it takes goods from predefined source non-WM/non-HU location, packs them into HU and places them in target WM-HUM location.
2) Maintain packaging instruction (trans. POP1 and POF1) to automate the packaging quantities.
3) Run packaging table by HUPAST, select your table and pack.
4) Packed HU ends up on WM-HUM location.
This process can be done either in SAP GUI (HUPAST) or you can build it in RF transaction and run it with mobile RF scanner (ABAP development required).

Process Cycle:
1)Create Material with WM View in Material Master (MM01)
2)Crearte Purchase Order(ME21N) consult MM
3)Release Purchase Order(ME29N, ME28)
4)Goods Receipts (MIGO)
5)Creating Transfer Request (note:- this will come Automatically while doing G/R)
6)Create Transfer Order (LB13)
7)Confirm Transfer Order (LT12)
10)Check Stock Overview in Warehouse (LS24)
Goods Issue Process from Warehouse:
1)Create Reservation (MB21)
2)Goods Issue W.R.T Reservation (MIGO)
3)Create Transfer Order (LT06)
4)Confirm Transfer Order (LT12)
After Doing all This Steps In MMBE At Stock Requirement List Click on the Selected Stock and Right Click u can See the WM stocks And Handling Unit

Project-Stock Handling units using HUPAST

Hi folks,
we want to use handling units with project stock (SOBKZ = Q). While it's easy to create handling units on project stock with HU02 it does not seem to be possible with HUPAST. System does not allow the edit the field SOBKZ in HUPAST.
Does anybody know how to create handling units with batches from project stock using the transaction HUPAST?

you can do it through only vl01n

Letu2019s think about what your company manufactures. Does it require mixing chemicals? If so, you may need an ERP system that does things like calculate ingredient quantities.

If the finish good cannot return back to its basic components, your manufacturing is Process. For instance, the finish good is a can of soda. It cannot return back to its basic components such as carbonated water, potassium benzoate, aspartame, citric acid, and other ingredients. But if the finish good is car or computer, your manufacturing process is Discrete because it can be disassembled and the parts, to a large extent, can be returned to stock. Conversely, in discrete manufacturing, one missing part means waiting for it before the finished assembly unit can start rolling off the production line
The obligatory requisite for process manufacturing is Lot Potency and Shelf Life where as discrete manufacturing values Serial Numbers, ECNu2019s and assembles.
If it is discrete manufacturing ---go for Production order
If it is process manufacturing ---go for process order

Creating Sales Order with credit card using Process Order API

Hi All,
When trying to create sales order with payment type as Credit card using Order data storing into staging tables and then calling Order Import Concurrent Program. The order is being created in ENTERED state.
While trying to passing the same details to Process Order API to create Sales Order, we are getting following error:
Unable to set up a Credit Card Bank Account for the Customer.
Credit Card information on the order is not valid.
Why getting this error while using Process Order API.

When using the API, are you trying to create the order as booked using the booked flag or the book action? I would recommend using the action if you are not. To troubleshoot, I would try the API without booking and then use the following article to determine the issue:

Handling Unit Managment Process flow

Hi all,
I am implementing Handling Unit Management currently. I am looking for; how does the business process flow change once HUM is activated.
So far, I got an idea:
GR process:
Purchase Order -> Goods Receipt (MIGO) -> ASN(Inbound Delivery) -> Pack & Create Handling Unit -> Post Goods Receipt(via the Inbound Delivery)
GI process:
Sales Order -> Outbound Delivery ->Pick & Pack(Handling Unit) -> Goods Issue
Please let me know if i am correct in my assumption.
Also, I would like to know how the stock is transferred from the stock stored in HU's in the warehouse to the stock which is to be delivered.
For example :
I store a material X in HU's in multiples of 500. I have to deliver to a customer around 100 pieces of X.
How do I go about unpacking the HU of 500, then creating 2 HU's (one with 400 pieces to be stored back in the warehouse, and the other HU of 100 pieces for the customer.)
Is it possible to do so ?
Or I need to create a separate storage location where I have to keep the partial unpacked 400 pieces ?
Anyone's help will be appreciated in this matter.

Hi,
In industry solution - automotive solution, this can be done by HUP12 - create planned HU's for sales order.
In generic SAP, this can not be done.

About Data Transfer In R/3 System
When a company decides to implement the SAP R/3 to manage business-critical data, it usually does not start from a no-data situation. Normally, a SAP R/3 project comes into replace or complement existing application.
In the process of replacing current applications and transferring application data, two situations might occur:
     The first is when application data to be replaced is transferred at once, and only once.
     The second situation is to transfer data periodically from external systems to SAP and vice versa.
     There is a period of time when information has to be transferred from existing application, to SAP R/3, and often this process will be repetitive.
The SAP system offers two primary methods for transferring data into SAP systems. From non-SAP systems or legacy system. These two methods are collectively called batch input or batch data communication.
1. SESSION METHOD
2. CALL TRANSACTION
3. DIRECT INPUT
First step for both the methods is to upload the data to internal table. From Internal Table, the data is transferred to database table by two ways i.e., Session method and Call transaction.
Session is intermediate step between internal table and database table. Data along with its action is stored in session i.e., data for screen fields, to which screen it is passed, the program name behind it, and how the next screen is processed.
When the program has finished generating the session, you can run the session to execute the SAP transactions in it. Unless session is processed, the data is not transferred to database table.
A technique similar to SESSION method, while batch input is a two-step procedure, Call Transaction does both steps online, one after the other. In this method, you call a transaction from your program.
SESSION METHOD
Data is not updated in database table unless Session is processed.
No sy-subrc is returned.
Error log is created for error records.
Updation in database table is always synchronous
CALL TRANSACTION
Immediate updation in database table.
Sy-subrc is returned.
Errors need to be handled explicitly
Updation in database table can be synchronous Or Asynchronous.

Hi,
If you are processing production order, use tcode MB31with mvt type 101, system will create stock. This method is same for both make to order and make to stock scenarios.
For initial stock upload you can use 501 or 561 mvt for make to stock and for Make to order use same mvt typt with special indicator E.

Create Handling Unit with Items
Functionality
You can use this method to create non-assigned handling units without stock information. These handling units may also be created with items, if you like. Serial numbers can also be included for each handling-unit item at this point.
You can also create nested handling units by accessing this method more than once.
Example
Example 1:
Creating a non-assigned handling unit with packaging material PALLET with a "Planned HU" physical status:
HEADERPROPOSAL: pack_mat = 'PALETTE'
 hu_status_init = 'A'.
Example 2:
Following access of the above method (example 1), the return parameter HUKEY returns the ID of the handling unit that was created in the KEY = ID1 field. To pack the handling unit that was just created in another handling unit, call up the BAPI_HU_CREATE method again with the following import parameters:
IHEADERPROPOSAL: pack_mat = 'CONTAINER'
ITEMPROPOS AL: hu_item_type = '3'
lower_level_key = ID1
You have now created a nested handling unit (a pallet inside a container).

Handling units outbound process

Hi People,
Can we not activate Storage Unit management/HU management in the warehouse and still create HUs during outbound process via packing transfer order? We dont want to manage stock at SU/HU level but create handling unit for material during outbound process. Possible?

Goto delivery document flow -> then goto the HU -> check HU history.
Has the HU been changed / assigned to other document after the GI?
If HU has been changed / moved after goods issue, it's no longer allowed to reverse the GI in VL09. This is standard behavior.
The only option is to post another movement in the opposite direction.
E.g. create a return processs.
