How to create Ibase hierarchy on BW

Hi,
I will build Installed Base, CRM object, InfoObject in BW.
The Installed Base infoObject will be designed the same as CRM installed base hierarchy.
CRM installed base hierarchy can be implemented in BW ?
Please give me some information.

Hi Leon,
Creating a BP group (customer) hierarchy in CRM system is very easy. Please refer to the following very good help document : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/12/cfea3b31aac554e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
But in CRM 5.0 every time you create a hierarchy node and saves it, then hierarchy automatically get disappears. You need to implement the following notes in your system to get rid of this problem : 958122, 960384 and 956066

You can use ABAP program in the process chain.
I guess there are some OS level commands in ABAP which will allow you to open, close, read , write and move files.
Serach in ABAP help or on net.

How to create an Hierarchy from 2 tables in Essbase

Currently We have 5 dimension tables and one fact table in Star Schema Model.We have requirement to create an hierarchy which pulls from multiple tables
For Eg:
Table:1 P1 P2
Table:2 Q1 Q2
Expected Hierarchy :

Q1
While we try to implement it shows inconsistent results.Can some one let me know the alterante solution to fulfill this requirement.

Your JOIN doesn't work?
You'd have to post what the tables look like, what you're joining on, etc., etc. You aren't supplying enough information.
I am (to put it kindly) a SQL hack. I have found that if I go to a company's dba with my childlike SQL and ask, "Can you improve this?" almost 100% of the time they take pity on me and improve my code to no end. I know that's not what a dba is really for, but they tend to like well formed SQL touching their databases. Failing that, is there someone at your firm that is good with SQL who can help? You're on an Essbase board, not a SQL board, so you are likely not going to get the help you need here.

How to create a hierarchy datasource in R/3

Hello,
We use the 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER hierarchy datasource to load material hierachy in BW.
I had to modify the function module that creates the data for 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER.
Now, i need to create a new datasource based on the new function module.
To do so, i created a generic datasource (with SBIW), a master data attributes datasource.
I tried to put the same parameters that in 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER, but i didn't find how to indicate that it's a hierarchy and some other parameters (as you can see in RSA2 for 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER in the "semantic attributes" area).
Also, i couldn't run the new datasource in RSA3 because it didn't show me the right selection fields.
Could you tell me if there is a specific transaction to create hierarchy datasources ?

How to create a hierarchy in the iTunes site into which to group podcasts

Within iTunes > Store> Podcasts > News & Politics PRI (Public Radio International) seems to have a kind of 'subsection' or 'subcategory' to itself, which has its own hierarchy and - in the bottom half of the screen - a further subdivision of and for its various podcasts, and their episodes.
I'm creating podcasts for my employer and need to do the same thing - so that all of our future podcasts can be grouped.
How do I do create a group within the iTunes store environment into which I can put future podcasts?
Is it in the XML I'm creating - or do I need to approach Apple?

You can't. I asked Apple about the same thing just recently. These pages are created by the iTunes staff and are essentially "featured" podcasts. Much like the featured podcasts the content providers are selected by the iTunes staff based on a few criteria, mainly that you have to have 6 or more podcasts with content that they feel is of interest to listeners/viewers and is regularly updated. You can't request that they build one for you...you have to be selected. So create a bunch more podcast feeds, keep them updated and interesting and hope they find you.

Hi,
A hierarchy can be created in the system by two ways:
By hand:
     I would recomend to create by hand if the hierarchy has a few nodes or if the hierarchy will stay without changes for long.
     RSA1 --> Look for your infoobject and "create hierarchy". Then, you can create the folders and nodes that you need and dont forget activate it
This option is the quickest and easier, if you could go for it.
Loaded by flat file.
     If the hierarchy has many many nodes or if it will change its values quite often, it will be a good idea to develop stractors, infopackage and so on for loading the information from file file.
There are plenty of information of the Internet about how to do it.
From my own experience, it would be easier to build the extractor in the old version (rsa1old).

Please take e look at the following case:
In BPS we want to make a planning on groups of FI-GL-accounts. For the grouping of the GL-account we make use of the Financial Statement functionality in R/3. With a BC DataSource (0GL_ACCOUNT_T011_HIER) this Financial Statement is imported in BW as a hierarchy on InfoObject 0GL_ACCOUNT. As said, we do not want to make a planning on the GL-account but on the groups, i.e. the nodes of the hierarchy. We think in this case we need a BW hierarchy with postable nodes and make the planning on the inner nodes of the hierarchy.
So far so good, but when we execute the Manual planning the system responds with Hierarchy xxxx does not contain any postable nodes Anyone has a clue? Did we forget something?

Usually you would use two tables for that task.
First Table (master-table could be:

);Second table with Processes could be:
