How to create in iweb but upload to something other than .mac account
I bought my own domain name and have a hosting server all setup through a friend.
My question is can I create my page in iweb and upload it to my own hosting server which is not .mac?
If not, how can I pull all files and folders out to copy up using Classic FTP?
If I cant use iweb at all, what can I use to build my page on my macbook?
Thank You
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
all you have to do is go to File=>Publish to a folder when in iWeb and then upload the resulting files (index.html & folder named with name of your site in iWeb) to your server using an FTP application.

How can i use iweb to work on both of my .mac accounts?
I have 2 seprate .mac accounts, one is for my personal, other is more work based.
How can I create on both with the same computer?
I have created a different user on my mac, and then logged in on that name , which has worked, however I would like to know if there is a easier /shorter way to accomplish this .
Thanksyou need to split your domains for that. see these links:

Creating a Pocast to be hosted somewhere other than .mac
Anyone had any experience of creating iweb pages with a podcast and hosting on site other than a .mac?
I know I can save the site/podcast to the desktop and then add/upload to an existing website.
When iWeb saves locally it asks for the url for the site.
so for example I might add...
www.mycoolwebsite.com
Is there anything else that needs to be added to this path ... like /podcast?
Should it be saved to its own discrete folder?
Also I guess I will need to create a button within iweb, on the podcast page, to take the user back to the Host home page.
Anyone with any clear advice on how to do this?!!!
It would be nice just to have a link on a page to the RSS feed without having to go to this "bolt on" page.
Hope these Q's make some sense!!!
Any ideas?I know I can save the site/podcast to the desktop and
then add/upload to an existing website.
Yes.
When iWeb saves locally it asks for the url for the
site.
This is so that the internal links work.
so for example I might add... www.mycoolwebsite.com
Is there anything else that needs to be added to
this path ... like /podcast?
You should have http:// on the front, then the URL for your webspace, whatever that is. If you save the pages to the root level of your webspace, then that will do. You might want to create a folder on the server called podcast, in which case you would need the /podcast, which represents the folder.
Should it be saved to its own discrete folder?
That's up to you: if you are not going to have any other pages then you might as well save to the root level. If you are going to have different sections it would be logical to have folders: but it doesn't really matter as long as the links are correct.
Note that when you upload, you send the contents of the folder you saved to, not the folder itself. Note also that your start page must be called index.html (though iWeb should take care of that).
Also I guess I will need to create a button within
iweb, on the podcast page, to take the user back to
the Host home page.
I don't use iWeb, but it must offer links to the pages within the site and back to the main page.
It would be nice just to have a link on a page to the
RSS feed without having to go to this "bolt on" page.
Note that the link to the rss feed is for programs such as NetNewsWire which are rss readers, don't confuse this with an ordinary web page. You link to the rss page just the same as any web page: http://severname.com/rss.xml or whatever it's called (the extension must be .xml). -

How can I save a website created on iweb, but that I no longer have it saved in my computer, so I can open it in my new computer with iweb
and republish it on another server, since mobile me would be gone on jun 2012.You need the Domain.sites2 file that's located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder in order to be able to manage and publish the site from another computer?
Do you have that file? If you do copy it to the same folder on the other computer and you're ready to go.
If not then you'll have to recreate the site from scratch. Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site. 1

Iweb upload to host other than apple
Is this possible? Can I change the settings inside of iweb so that it will upload the site to a different host, other than apple. I'm a dreamweaver user and I have to help out a number of people and they all just got new macbooks. Since it has iweb already, it would be great to use it, but we didn't get the mac accounts. The office did open an independent site with a generic hosting service.
One person says that we can upload the site to the our purchased host through FTP. Sure, but everyone is COMPLETELY computer illiterate. So that isn't a solution. We need something they can just press and it will work. Can I configure iweb to do this. This is a Yes or NO question. I just need to know. I can do the legwork myself, but before I get started down that road, I need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Otherwise it's dreamweaver.
Thank you. Whoever you are that has the answer.Whatever happened to helping people to learn or teaching, or has this art suddenly disappeared? I am sure that most people were computer illiterate as you put it before we got our hands on one and were taught or helped to learn how to use it. I know I was. I remember about 16 years ago now, when I was at university, I needed a computer, so I purchased an Amstrad. It was a black and white monitor and had no hard drive, so all work needed to be saved on a floppy disc. This saw me through uni and I then decided to buy my first proper computer which was a Viglen PC. This had an internet connection and I learned how to use this by fiddling myself and reading books and with help from others.
It was not long after this that Apple bought out the first iMacs - the Tangerine iMacs that were 500 Mghz. I bought one of these for my parents as they wanted something simple to use without all the leads and connections that PC's had. I set it up for them and used it myself and was so impressed with it, that I went out and bought one for myself and have never looked back. It ran OS 8, which was quite unstable and kept crashing and freezing all the time. I learned how to use this myself.
Since then, I have graduated to the latest Macs and the latest software, but they are easy to use even for the computer illiterate. Even the computer illiterate can learn if they are taught.
I totally agree with what Roddy has said. How hard can it really be to publish to a folder - this can be done from within iWeb itself, by selecting the Publish to MMe or a folder option? If someone were to set up an ftp client such as Cyberduck for people to use and have all the info needed entered into it, then all they need do is click on upload and select first the site folder and then the index file. Is this really going to be so hard?
Do you really think that using Dreamweaver is going to be easier than using iWeb? If these people are not even able to click on publish to a folder and then upload using Cyberduck themselves, then do you really think that they will be able to use Dreamweaver any better? Dream on then if you think this!! -

Can iWeb be hosted by another site other than .Mac?
I have already purchased a domain name and a hosting agreement with GoDaddy, however I cannot utilize their web page templates for some reason. Another mac user suggested I purchase iWeb and then have GoDaddy host. Can that be easily accomplished?
Yes, it can be easily accomplished. Here's iWeb's Help info on this topic...
Publishing to a server or hosting service other than .Mac:
Instead of publishing your site to .Mac, you can publish your site to a local folder and then upload it to the server or hosting provider of your choice. You may want to use this method if you own a domain name and want to place your site there.
To publish your site to a local destination:
Choose File > Publish to a Folder.
Choose a location to store your site, and then click Choose.
After you publish your site to a folder, you can use an FTP (file transfer protocol) client to upload the site folder and index file to the location of your choice. iWeb does not provide an FTP client, but they are easy to obtain. Some hosting services provide a web-based FTP upload service, or you can download an FTP client from the web. For more information, contact your server administrator.
If you don't publish your site to .Mac, these features are unavailable:
Password protection
Blog comments
Blog search
Hit counter
Enhanced slideshows
Also, for Subscribe buttons to work, you must specify your site's URL in the field provided after you publish to a folder. -
Is there any t-code to upload Asset Balances other than OASV
Hello Genius,
Is there any other T-code to upload Asset Balances other than OASV.
Please guide me in detail
Regards
JSif you ahve uploaded assets with AS91 then it would ahve already posted to the Asset accouting sub ledger, but not to the GL. So you ahve to use OASV to post to the GL.
Posting using ABSO will post to both the AA and the GL resulting in duplicate entry in the Asset accoutning
you can use ABSO only when creating the asset master with AS01. -
Will iWeb Allow You to Publish to Places other than .Mac?
I like the functionality of iWeb, but wonder if it would allow me to publish to a site other than .Mac.
Choose Publish to a Folder rather than Publish to .Mac, then use FTP to upload from your local folder to your non-.Mac server.
You need to be aware, though, that you'll lose some of the benefits of .Mac publishing when you do this. Slideshows will be different, password protection won't be available, the hit counter won't work, and Comments and Search which came with version 1.1 won't function.

I'm trying to create an import script for RDBMS to import users, but cannot figure out how to set the "PASS_TYPE_RADIUS_TOKEN" to something other than the default of "RADIUS Token Server". We have multiple RADIUS Token Server definitions.
I can create a user with what I need, except external db password is set to "RADIUS Token Server". How do I set it to (for example) something like "RADIUS Token Server - xxxx"
We have more than 1 RADIUS Token Server definition called "RADIUS Token Server - xxxx", "RADIUS Token Server - yyyy".
Thanks! As per my knowledge you have to update 4.2 ACS to
5.1, because when you go for RDBMS synchronization it wont allow you, I have faced problem in past while primary ACS was 4.1 and secondary I have 4.2, I have updated primary ACS to 4.2 and everything is working fine. -
How do I install DW CS6 in PC drive other than C:?
How can I install DW CS6 in PC drive other than C:? I have "only" 6GB of space left in C:, and got an error message when I tried to put the Adobe Installer into another drive.
Thanks, Mylenium...
It's not about the cost of a new drive. I've already added 2TB over the past couple of years, and partitioned thim into higher drive letters. Most programs let me install them into those drives and still save enough in C: to be happy. But I'm uncomfortable messing with any root stuff. For some dumb reason, I partitioned the original drive (165GB) into 3 virtual drives (c,d,e) and the C: is only 60GB, which had 6GB free.
I've temporarily offloaded a lot of files and now have 13GB free space. Maybe I'll try the install again tonight, as it takes many hours to download DW CS6. If that doesn't work, maybe I'll have to ditch the 165GB drive and replace with larger. Do you know of a program that will do that exchange without losing anything? The thought of having to reinstall a lot of legacy software that I still use is scary. And I don't have any spare SATA ports left.
Thanks again...

How to see the Table Names & Field Names by other than F1 help
Hi Experts
How to see the Table Names & Field Names by other than F1 help, & How to see the List of MM Table Names.
RgdsThe only option to see the active table/ field name is through F1 --> Technical Information. Apart from this, you can use any 3rd part application like GUIex (INbuilt in SAP ECC 6.0 ... can be activated by clicking on the tri-color button on the top right), but you need technical knowledge to understand the information. As far consolidated list of MM tables is concerned, SAP don;t provide you the same at one place, it experience and knowledge which help you in this regard.
