How to create iView for Leave Request Approval for ESS Tab in Portal.??

is it customized application ?
If so in SWFVISU transaction maintaain the entry .
Use transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for your Workitem in the UWL. --Parameters for Work Item Visualization in the UWL.

Our requirement is for 5 levels of approvals for the leave request raised in ESS means After employee raises leave request ,it has to be approved by 5 managers one after the other. As soon as we create a Leave Request a task is generated and it is visible in task list.
Here the requiremnet is the task which are generated for this LEave Request functionality should not be seen in the task list.
I have removed the task from UWL Configuration in XML code.

Business object for leave/absence approval

We need to build a leave approval workflow in ESS. Can you please guide us about the business object to be used in this workflow.

That's for the generic one. For ESS, It is not based on BO rather it is Object. However this is not a event based workflow but gets triggered from Portal using SPRO Configuration. Make a copy of it and can be customized as per requirement.
You can do the requied configurations like below:
1. Though we can access config through SPRO, you can also use this transaction PTARQ and there we have an option for 'Customizing'. Click on that
2. Go to ESS -> Service Specific Settings -> Working Time -> Leave Request ->
Here you have all the required settings to be done for Leave Request and more specifically if you want to use Workflow for leave request approval , go to "processing process for leave types" -> Define abscenese/processing processes -> select any type of leave, there you have option 'Process Request using Workflow' enable this , then you can mention your workflow number to be processed here.
3. In ECC 6.0, WS12300111 is given as a template for Leave Request workflow ( or general workflow for documents). So may be you can copy this workflow and change as per your requirement.

Leave request workflow in ESS ?

we plan to use the ess scensario for leave request entered by employees in our portal (netweaver 2004'S 7.00, with backend ECC 6.0).
i have a problem with the workflow behind it: i want to send an email to the person who must approve the leave request.
in standard there is of course a email, but only with a link to the business workplace inbox. as this is very user-unfriendly i want to add a link to the email which DIRECTLY gets to the leave request for approving.
is there a possiblility ?

Who can tell me how to find the leave request Webdynpro for ABAP iview

Hi,Expert,
As I know Portal only has Webdynpro for java iview for leave request iview in the past.
but someone tell me SAP portal has delivered some new standard WebDynpro for ABAP iview.
I have a requirement to create a employee role for new Leave Request service created by WD ABAP . Under Content Provided by SAP in Content Administration, I couldn't find the iView assocated to the leave request except the Java one. Is there have any Employee Self-Service Web Dynpro ABAP workset ?

The business package for ESS based on Webdynpro for ABAP is available only for ECC 6.0 EHP5.
If you are on EHP5, you may choose to use this version of the BP.

How to create iview for a GP screen

Dear Experts
I have created a GP for leave request. In this GP a user will raise a leave request and manager will approve the request.
In this GP the end user should get access to the leave request form.
For that I need to create an iview accessing the leave request form and provide access to this iview to the user.
But how can I create iview to access the leave request screen ( callable object).

Cross-Application Components -> Homepage Framework -> Services
Define Services
Copy existing and create your own....
EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_LEAVEREQUEST
to
ZXXX_EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_LEAVEREQUEST
EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_LEAVEOVERVIEW
to
ZXXX_EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_LEAVEOVERVIEW
Associate a Z resource or existing resource with it....
Then map this Z service with Sub area
"Assign Services to Subareas"
Do not forget to give "Position"
Revert back if you face any issue......

Hi Experts,
I have a FI AP Generic Datasource containing extract structure with appended fields.
It has already been activated and transported to Testing System.
Now, I am to create a new transport request for this DataSource and Extract structure.
I do not want to delete and recreate the Generic Datasource.
I am trying to look at the options in the extract structure top menu from where I can create a new Tranport Request.
Please let me know the steps

Hi Dev,
Once you send the transport request for any data source from Dev to Testing you wont find that again in your Dev (I mean the TR). So, when you change anything for this data source or view now in Dev and try to save it, it will ask for a new transport request and here you can mention a new one starting from View then activate it and go to RSO2 regenerate it and use the same transport request for this too. When you transport this TR to Testing Environment the data source will automatically get changed.

there was some config missing in UWL, now it is working and here we have got some button launch dynpro ..this is leading to pop where we can approve or reject....

In this we are getting more info, Display details in SAP GUI, View History, View all Time Approval and Attachments of Documents which leads to leave request details. These may be too flashy for the Manager who are from the typcial production centers....industries...So is there any way out for Hiding these.

1. You can see the deployed application under the "Portal Applications"
2. If you want to create an iView out of it. right click on the application -> copy. than press right click in the folder you want the iView will be created and paste ad pcd object.

Problem in changing label in leave request approval screen

I have followed the SAP note 1234273 to change labels in our Leave request iViewin ESS and could do it successfullybut I could not able to know how to change the labels in Leave request approval screen because I have created a custom role and assigned Universal work list to it and assigned it to manager to view the leave requests applied. I navigated to Leave request approval screen via that role but ctrl + right click is not working on that page. Please suggest me

Check your uwl config, normally it is configured to directly call concerned(leave req approval) application hence your iview may not be getting called. You can try changing the uwl config to call PCD page instead of direct wdp application call.

Team Calendar in Read-Only Mode in Leave Request Approver Screen

After lots of interaction and inputs in my previous thread,
Customization Done for 2 level approval of leave in ESS but Facing Problems
       Our Team had decided to make the Team Calendar in Leave Request Approval Screen in Read-Only Mode (more precisely modus=TeamView)
       My question is, is it possible to achieve the same, because instead of adding custom validations using Custom RFC, If it is possible to make the Team Calendar as Read-Only than it will help us to achieve our goals. Please do let us know that is it possible? and, if Yes, How to achieve it?
      On leave request approval screen, we want Approver to take any action via "Show Worklist" and No User Action allowed on Team Calendar (Disabled but not InVisible).

approve/reject a leave though he/she is not the owner of the approval
workitem (TS12300097). It happens when a higher level manager clicks on
the leave in the TeamCalendar launched from the LeaveRequestApprover
application.

Reason and Prerequisites
Reason:- This is caused because the approve/reject button were not
restricted based on the logged in user.
Prerequisites:- IT105 entries for the backend PERNRs should be correctly

Adobe form for leave request

Dear experts,
There is no standard leave request form provided by SAP. We are developing an adobe form which lists the employee's quota and leaves taken earlier along with the current leave details. This form should be displayed to the approvers from the leave workflow.
When the approver clicks on the work item, the leave request form should popup. There are two technical challenges in this requirement -
1. This requirement is similar to the standard ones for travel request and expense request - In travel request and expense request, SAP has provided standard forms and the workflow container is a standard importing parameter in these adobe forms. This container is helpful in deriving most of the content on the adobe form. However, there is no such link in case of leave request. How does the workflow information be passed to the adobe form? ( i will have to display employee details, quota, current leave, approvers list, approvers comments, etc).
2. For leave request, the approval task is TS12300097 that has "Java Webdynpro" as visualization type. Whereas for travel and expense workflow approval tasks, the visualization type is "ABAP Webdynpro". I am assuming the "JAVA WD" will make it really tough to call the adobe form from the work item.
Any thoughts, suggestions on this requirement will be of great help.

I'm not that good at technical level, but still I try to help you with my limited knowledge.Instead of trying from binding rule, try with Function Module via BOR Object Method. you can get that function module at the time Adobe form creation. Can't you consider that Adobe form as a attachment in the work item???
