How to create iView

Hi ,
I need to integrate my web app with SAP portal.
How can I create an .Net iView using Visual Studio .Net
and deploy it on SAP portal.
Can someone guide me step by step regarding this.

1. You can see the deployed application under the "Portal Applications"
2. If you want to create an iView out of it. right click on the application -> copy. than press right click in the folder you want the iView will be created and paste ad pcd object.

If so in SWFVISU transaction maintaain the entry .
Use transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for your Workitem in the UWL. --Parameters for Work Item Visualization in the UWL.

How to create iView for WDPApplication deployed in another server instance?

hi experts,
I am in the Enterprise Portal (Server01), need to create iViews for deployed WDP applications (Server02).
When creating a new iViews, i can only get WDP applications deployed in Server01 as in [this screen|http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/6361/newiview.png].
My question is, is it possible for me to create iViews in Server01 for WDP applications deployed in Server02? How??

How to create iView to run Web Service

Hi,
I need create iView on EP7 NW2004S SP12 portal to run Web Service provided on SRM 6.0 system.
Here is how I have attempted to create the iView:
1. Right click and select New =>iView.
2. Select "iView Template" radio button.
3. Select "Web Service iView" radio button to specify Web Service Template.
4. Enter name and ID of iView.
5. Select System Alias of System defined earlier.
At this point, the portal attempts to connect to the ECC system, and it fails with this error, and I cannot finish the create of the iView.
Could not connect to back-end application. Check your system. The server may be down or there may be an error in a system parameter.
Here are the key parameters defined for the System referenced by the system alias:
WSDL_URL:http://sap2.mycompany.com:50000/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
Logon Method:UIDPW
User Mapping Type:admin, user
CodeLink:com.sap.portal.systems.webservices.webservice_system
I've also created a usermapping for the Everyone group, and provided the userid and password for the system alias successfully.

Thank you for that information. I had not previously seen a procedure on how to setup an iView to run a web service.
I had created the System just as described in this blog, but I still have a problem. When creating the iView (on the last step of process when I click Finish), the portal attempts to connect to the SRM system, and it fails with the error highlighted below.
Could not connect to back-end application. Check your system. The server may be down or there may be an error in a system parameter.
I get an error in System Administration as well when I test the connectivity for the System object.
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results:
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
How does the security need to be setup to make this work? Or what could be causing this error? I do have SSO configured between the portal and the target system.

I have created a GP for leave request. In this GP a user will raise a leave request and manager will approve the request.
In this GP the end user should get access to the leave request form.
For that I need to create an iview accessing the leave request form and provide access to this iview to the user.
But how can I create iview to access the leave request screen ( callable object).

How to create iview alerts?

I have imported iview alert templates into the SAP enterprise portal. The page is showing no error. But how can I make the alerts work? I have tried to do publication into inbox of SAP users. But that does not seem to create an alert in the iview alert. What is this alert refering to?
Is it related to KMC? I have not yet installed Knowledge Management Collaboration of integration kit.

Hi Fei,
the alerts are those that are being created in Crystal Reports. You would have to create a Crystal Report object with Alerts and schedule the report. If then the data triggers these alerts they will be surfaced in the iView

Please try following steps to create a iview
a. Create a BW iView based on "BEx Web Application iView"
b. Open the iView Property
c. In the Parameter "BEx Web Application Query String" maintain a String for the BW Report(Example: INFOCUBE=0PA_C01&QUERY=0PA_C01_Q0101).
(Consult your BI Consultant)
d. Parameter System: maintain the Allias of your BW System (Example: SAP_BW)
e. Parameter Version:
- Use Value (SAP BW 2.x/3.x) and Review iView so you have a BW Report in the old 3.5 Look and Feel Layout, with out the new BW Reporting functionalities. not recommended if you are using BW NW04s already.
- Use (SAP NetWeaver BI 7.x) for BW Report with new 7.0 Design and look and feel. (SEND Button, KM Comments, PDF Prnting, etc.). Recomemnded. Requires KM.
That mean customers have a choice to select BW Report in EP as BW 3.5 or BI 7.0 depending on thier business needs and user requirements.

Hi,
Logon to portal, Content Administration->Portal Content and by right clicking, select New iView. In the "Template Selection" select SAP Web Dynpro iView. In the 2nd step, give the name and id of the iView. In the 3rd step you have the option to select either 'Java' or 'ABAP'. In your case select ABAP.In the 4th step, select the System and supply namespace and application name of your Web Dynpro ABAP Application. Click and Next->Finish. Now you will find the iView for your web dynpro ABAP application.

Step 1: Create a WebDynpro project.
Step2 : Right click on the model =>create Model => Import Adaptive Web Service Model=>Next=>Give Model Name(say FlightDetails)/PackageName/Model Instances/RFC Meta Data =>Next => Give SAP logon information for single server(Host Name/System Number/client/logon name/password/language)=>Next=>Give the Function Name(Bapi_Flight_Getlist) =>Next=>Finished
Step3 : Create a Webdynpro component(say FlightDetailsComp).
Step4: Right Click on the Used Model add the model(FlightDetails) that you have created using RFC.
Step 4 : Double-Clicks on the Component controller and Create a Value node(FlightInput) set Cardinality(0..1) and a Value Attribute(airlineid) under the node.
