  • URGENT: How to create Map IDs

I am using RH7, have inherited a help project in which all topics have been assigned map IDs. I have created several new topics (at the root level) and do not know how to create map IDs for the new topics. I need step-by-step help on how to create IDs without disrupting the current IDs.

Thanks William. I'm all set now.

  • How to create Map report?

    Hello experts.
I'd like to know how map report works in OBIEE 11G..
Upon researching and trials, I have successfully downloaded and loaded the MVdemo stuff into my DB. I am able to import layers and back ground map into OBIEE. So at this point, I think I have set up the map metadata successfullly and I am able to use map as one of the view.
However, I'd like to know how to actually use the map view to create reports that are meaningful with my data..
I have 1 table, base table, where I have base name, attribute 1...10, latitude and longitude. I also have some fact tables that goes with this table.
It seems, as I was going through the MVdemo metadata, the cities table doesn't store all of the cities in the world (this is understandable), so the part of Russia where my bases are located aren't found in the spatial data.
My base table only has latitude and longitude, it doesn't have geographic region names.
Now I want to create one report that shows all of my bases over east part of Russia on a map, so I want to see a map of Russia with Base names plot all over it.
How would I be able to do it? Do I need additional tables or data to do it?
The examples I get from internet seems to be too generic
Please let me know your thoughts
    Thanks

    Hello
    I like this article:
    http://prasadmadhasi.com/tag/obiee-11g-maps/
    However, I have a few beginner's question..
    1. I notice that the author has a subject area 'Map', which was used to create map.. Is this subject area any different from normal subject or is it created specifically for making maps?
    2. The author has state, city columns in the DB, which was used to map to the report.. In my case, I only have longitude and altitude of my base in the base table, what can I do in this case?
    Thanks

  • How To Change Map Drive for my Database?

    Hi all,
I bought an external Usb Disk with 1TB storage capacity and attached it to my laptop, because I am running out of space for new 11g Database Creation.
It was mapped by default at G:\ then I created a new database 11g on it. Then during night time, I shutdown my laptop and remove my external disk.
Next morning I startup my laptop again and attached by external disk. But to my surprise it is mapped as E:\ so I can not startup my database :(
How can I switch it back to G:\ please.
    Thanks a lot.

  • How to create mapping diagrams in ODI?

Is there anything in ODI similar to informatica stencil for visio to create the mapping design diagrams to show the data flow and transformations in a visio schematic diagram?
    Thanks for your feedback.

    thanks for your reply.
I am not looking to find where to design/create the map in ODI.
This is for a schematic representation of the mapping for design documentation to show how the map is going to look like with icons of various transformations involved in the map and connecting arrows to show the data flow in the map.
Something similar to this for informatica:

  • How to create Portal/OID groups from AD OUs and keep them sync'd?

We are currently doing a simple one-to-one import sync mapping from Active Directory to OID for use by Portal.
In AD there are 40+ OUs with CN=username records, that we would like to have mapped to 40+ Portal groups with CN=username records as unique group members. We want to manage Portal privileges at the Portal group level rather than for each of 3,000+ individual users.
Each OU has it's own AD admin, so there is no way of knowing at what sub-level in the OU, an AD admin might create a CN=username record.
I had thought to manually create 40 new Portal groups, since the OUs seldom change. Now, I need to know how to create/map each of the OU=xxx, CN=username values as a unique member of the correct Portal group. During the sync, if an AD CN=username is added/modified/deleted from an existing OU=xxx, that same add/modify/delete needs to happen in the appropriate Portal group.
If somebody could assist me in "making it so", I would appreciate your time and help.

If you are already running the AD->OID synchronization, where do your OU's end up? It all depends on the mapping profile you (should have) set up.
Not sure where Portal stores the OID stuff, but you sjould be able to change the profile in such a way it ends up in the correct tree

  • How to create CVI drivers from existing LabView HP816x.fp

I downloaded an instrument driver from the www.agilent.com; Instructions are provided to convert drivers for LabView from the provided HP816x.fp, however, I need to create them for LabWindows CVI.

If you downloaded Agilent 816x VXI Plug&Play Driver, you can use it in CVI immediately. You don't need conver anything for CVI. fp file is part of CVI driver.
In project window select menu item Instrument>>Load. Load the hp816x.fp. Add #include to your C code and you can use all function from driver.
Help about converting fp for labview describes how easy create LabVIEW driver. This convertion make llb file with VIs for every function from Fp panel. These VIs call functions from hp861x_32.dll. If you are using CVI you don't need do it. This help is only for LabVIEW users.

  • Creating a symlink directory on a network share to a path below a mapped drive letter, local path, or UNC path does not work

Am I correct in assuming I can not create a `symlinkd` to a network share, local path, or a UNC path on a network share that will be accessible by clients?
    ###Mapped drive letters don't work:
    1) navigate to a network share:
    pushd \\windows2008server\share\
    2) make a hardlink:
    mklink /d test_sharedir t:\directory\
    dir .\test_sharedir
    #Directory of Z:\test_sharedir
    #File Not Found
    UNC paths don't work:
    1) navigate to a network share:
    pushd \\windows2008server\share\
    2) make a symlink:
    mklink /d test_dirunc \\windows2008server\share
    dir .\test_dirunc
    #Directory of Z:\test_dirunc
    #File Not Found
I can create a functional `symlinkd` on a local drive to a mapped drive letter or a UNC path.
    Are my assumptions above correct?
We are in the middle of a migration and have created two symlinkd to UNC paths for shared DLLs, one below c:\windows\system32\ (directing to a share containing 64-bit DLLs) and one below c:\windows\syswow64 (directing to a share containing 32-bit DLLs).
On the file server, we have had a path to 32-bit DLLs (from Windows 7 clients: s:\dll\).  I am attempting to rename this directory so that it is accessible via "s:\dll32\" and would like to create a symlinkd that links "s:\dll" to
"s:\dll32" [again where S: is a mapped drive on a Windows 2008 server].  How do I do this?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello Mandy,
The link you sent me is for Netapp CIFS server daemon contained within DataOnTap (the Netapp OS) to follow symlinks.  I am inquiring about the Microsoft products Windows Server and Windows 7.
To gain a better understanding of the Microsoft Windows Server and client (Windows) CIFS stacks and interaction of the stacks, I have referred to Figure 6 "Server Message Block Server Model" within the following (albeit older) document: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/8/0/2800a518-7ac6-4aac-bd85-74d2c52e1ec6/tuning.doc
    You will see the following:
I assume that the Windows Server CIFS server service must be "smart enough" to determine that a CIFS client is attempting access to a SYMLINKD and actually fill the request by following the SYMLINKD.  The CIFS server service does not appear
    to operate like this.
    1) Am I correct in my assumption that the CIFS client (redirector) and the CIFS server (server) do not following symbolic links (whether they be file or directory)?
    2) If not, how do I submit a feature request for this so that it can be reviewed and approved or not approved for inclusion/hotfix release?
    Thanks for your time,
    Matt Brown
    [UPDATE]
Note that you can use a `directory junction` instead of using a SYMLINKD, to link to LOCAL resources (source). However, `directory junctions` do not allow access to resources over UNC.

  • How to add an image from mapped drives?

    Hi all,
Currently I've a BSP service running some picture are stored within the service directory (using import MIME) in the WEBAS like ...
    http://webhost/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zris/GFX/logo.gif
but now how can I display in the same service pictures taken from a mapped drive ? (ie: l:\pictures\logo.gif) without importing them into the WEBAS service?
Is there a possibility to create a virtual directory in the service mapped to the l:\pictures or something like that?
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

  • Warning when trying to launch application over mapped drive "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?"

We have 2 load balanced application servers that map drives with programs on them for users from a central server that are giving the warning "We can't verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to run this file?". Basically how it works
is a user logs in to one or the other application servers (for example, 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2) and runs a log on script that maps an L:\ drive to the users folder on the central storage server (10.0.0.100). When the user goes to launch the .exe from the L:\
    drive it presents that warning.
I've looked around and have seen recommendations that you need to add the site to the local intranet zone for IE, but when I try to add L:\ it tells me that I have entered an invalid sequence. It appears that you can only put network shares in that location,
which is not how we're mapping the drive.
Has anyone run in to this before and knows how to resolve it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
A mapped drive letter is not supported so please try to input \\server or \\server\folder to see if it will help.
If you have any feedback on our support, please send to [email protected]

  • Create GPP drive mapping entries programmatically

Can anyone provide any sample codes that creates drive mapping entries in group policy preference? I am not looking for script to create the GPO, I am looking for codes to create mapping entries inside it instead. I've been searching for MS document
    but found nothing so far.
Specifically I am looking for codes that can create entries using item level targeting criteria as below:
    - OS type
    - session type (RDP vs local console)
    - user group membership
    Any pointer is appreciated.

    Also you can use.
    $Network = New-Object -ComObject "Wscript.Network"
    $Network.MapNetworkDrive("P:", "\\MyComputer\MyShare")
    or
    net use Z: \\server\share /persistent:yes
