How to create new password policy in FIM

Can anyone assist me is there any way to create a new password policy in fim similar to creating password policy in OIM.Any related inforamtion is useful and appreciated.

I get this error:
"cn=config": suffix does not exist.
The "import" operation failed on "localhost:1389".

Good it did not work or you would have overwritten all the data currently in cn=config. Anyway, "dsconf import" only works on regular backends. The cn=config tree is special a.
You should use ldapmodify to add the contents to cn=config.
$ ldapmodify -p 1389 -D cn=root -f a.ldif -a

How to create a password policy for password syntax?

Hi,
I need to apply a password policy in OID that checks the password syntax. We need to verify that the each password contains at least three of the four character groups (Capital Letters / Small Letters / Numbers / Special Characters). In OID, I may only check for minimum Length and a min Number of Numbers. Is there an easy way to do this? (Plugin in OID?)
For the Web-Part (eg. Portal) its quite easy, as we may create a Javascript to check the syntax on the "change password" page, but as we have diffrent types of access, we want to get the rule applied in one place.

In addition to Martin’s suggestions, we can also choose to change the scope of the existing GPO with Security Filtering.

How to add a new password policy

This must be simple, but appearantly nobady has conceeded:
"how does one add a NEW password policy to the OID?"
I need this functionality, because I want to enforce the following rules in my SSO application:
- 99% of the users may have passwords that never expire
- 1% (say 5 or 6) users must have passwords that do expire, because they are super users and we want to minimize the risk of their passwords getting in the wrong hands.
I feel almost embarrased to post this question, but I really cannot find any example or documentation that shows me how to add a new password policy.
Is their any way to do this in OID?

I opened a Tar with metalink on this , and they told me that this way is not supported by Oracle.

What is the new password policy?

What is your new password policy? All you state on the page where it forces us to change without being able to continue is a meter that says whether its strong enough. How about actually stating what the requirements are on that page? Even when clicking on the Password Help link, it doesn’t state what the requirements are. This can be very frustrating to users trying to create a password model.
After toying around with some passwords, I am guessing it is just like 12 characters regardless of whether they are upper/lower case, numbers, or special characters. This policy is really lacking for any type of real security measure.

New password policy causing major headaches

So I was watching a Tedx youtube video the other day that was all about memory.To sum it up, if you create a policy for password (in this case) send out a email to the company about how to make passwords fun. Include a collage of random pictures to help users create new passwords.Collage list from GoogleFun items are much much much easier to remember.So if I had to make a new password as a user, I'd create something fun with the collage and generate a password from that.

We recently put in a password policy that makes everyone change it every 90 days. This last week was the first time everyone's had to update their password, and we ran into a few issues.We've got over 150 users so I don't know if it's user error or what, but I've had half a dozen people over the last couple days say that they changed their password, and now they can't log into the computer. I end up resetting it for them, and then they're good to go again. I feel like maybe they aren't remembering what they set their password to.Also, another half dozen people so far have complained that their phones aren't syncing mail after changing their password. They said they put the new password into their phone, so it should just keep going... but nothing. Some are fixed by removing the profile and re-adding, others I have to go and delete...

Using SYS or system accounts for creating user accounts.
Syntax to create a user:

IDENTIFIED BY password
default tablespace users;
grant connect, resources to your_user;

again some confusion here.....
u said u need a new database in your first post and now you saying u need a new schema..
one database has many schemas(users)..... ex: scott,sys,system are few of them...
now it depends you need seperate database for test,dev environment - this is in the case u have many schemas under each database and many tables(objects) under each schema.
OR
You just need a separate schema (in same db) for test,dev environment...where in you will have multiple tables in each schema...U need to know the dba credentials of the db to create a new schema.
ideally u need to have different database...You can create one with out sys/system(oracle users) password as these passwords are db dependent.
what you need is access to the any machine where server is installed(can be the same mc where you have your dev db or a diff machine) and that will be the machine where your db will be installed (can do it through database configuration assistance),ofcourse you will need windows authentication for this.
so you login to the same machine or access it from your machine using remote login.
I hope that is clear.Hope i am not listing things that you already know..Just did it coz of confusion between db and schema

class, I have retreived the xml content in the meta_data object, after that i have converted into character array and this will be sends to SAX

Create new Security Policy in UME is not available

Hello,
We are on NW CE 7.1 EHP1 and MII 12.1.7 build 47.
I have MII Super Administrator role, few custom roles and I also have Action "Manage_All" and I am able to perform most of the activities on UME but I don't see any option to create new security policies all I can do is modify the Default Security Policy and save it.
It never shows me an option to create new security policy and I am not sure what roles or actions I am missing.
1) Are there any roles or actions that my profile needs to have?
2) Is it something to do with NW CE version or MII version?
3) Has something gone wrong or have we missed some configuration while installing NW CE or MII?
Any suggestions will be of great help

I am not a NW UME expert, but I know this issue has nothing to do with MII. Not sure if you have rights but providing the Administrators Group for the UME database should allow you to do this.
I would try posting this thread on the NW UME Forum. Modifying policies in NW has nothing to do with MII.
Just to verify what policies are you trying to change, I am assuming they are in NW UME and not MII, is this correct? If they are in MII can you be more specific.
