  • How to index an attribute through command line

    Hi,
    I want to index an attribute through command line. I am using OID. I am creating every attribute and object class through command line. Any suggestion will be of great help.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
    When Oracle Internet Directory is installed,by default,certain attributes are already indexed. If you want to use additional attributes in search filters, you must index them.
    Below are the points one should remember when indexing an attribure....
    - We can index an attribute while creating it from Oracle Directory Manager admin tool.
    - You can not index an existing attribute from Oracle Directory Manager tool.
    - To index an already existing attribute and that does not have any data, use ldapmodify command.
    - To index an already existing attribute and the has the data, use catalog.sh command.
    If you are sure that the attribute does not have any data in any of the object profile (user,group,container,etc...) then prepare any ldif file and index it using ldapmodify otherwise use catalog.sh command.

    1- Is it because it depends on how jpr or jws are configured ?
    2- How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?

    The first  warning is happening because you're stating drivers for input devices without need. You haven't disabled hotplug so evdev gets used instead of kbd. This is normal, and you should change the driver line from kbd to evdev so that whatever options (if any) you've specified for the keyboard get parsed.
    The second warning is about you not installing acpid.
    The third I have no idea about, but look at the synaptics wiki. None of the (WW) are related to your video card.
    And every card that has 2 or more output ports show up as "two cards". You also don't need to specify the pci port in xorg.conf. edit: this is the general case with laptops, might be different for desktops.
    When I do lspci -v I get:

  • How to run an executable from command-line

    I'm learning how to use the Terminal and I got stuck in a silly thing (I suppose it is). How can I run an executable file from command-line in Terminal?
    For example: I have a file named "Hello" in the folder /sample. If I use the ls command (ls sample), I can see the file Hello. Then I move to the directory (cd /sample) and try to run the file Hello (typing "Hello") but I got "command not found" message.
    If I drag the Hello file from Finder to Terminal and hit Return, it runs perfectly. And if I type the full path to the file (even if I'm already inside its directory), it also runs.
    So, my doubt is if there is any command to run an executable from command-line.
    Thanks

    I took the trouble of reading *man bash* and it explains the issue. to add the current directory to PATH you need to add an empty path to PATH like this
    PATH=$PATH::
    you can add it to ~/.bash_profile so that it's executed automatically when you start bash. I suspect the linux system you are talking about had this set up by default or had it added to PATH in /etc/profile which defines PATH globally.

    Our costumer needed to run some ETL process from ODI and once it finished start a Clover ETL process (automatically). So we created a .bat file witth the above command and then in ODI we created a package with all ETL interfaces and the last step of the package was a OScommand component that excecuted the .bat script from the Endeca's project folder.

  • How can pass the data from Command line  to  Applet?

    Hi,
    I am writing a chat application by using sockets. For that purpose I need to pass the parameter data from command line to Applets. Is there any method to receive command line args data in Applets? If so please tell me.

    Passing command line arguments to an applet is not possible, but for the same you can try using param tags, within your applet tag.
    For eg:
    <applet.......>
    <param name="xyz" value="abcdef">
    </applet>
    Within the applet's any method like init call <getParameter("xyz");>
    will return u the value.

  • How to run adt.bat created installer silently from command line?

    All,
    I totally get how to create an installer like so:
    adt -package -target native c:\AirExe\myApp.exe c:\AirExe\myAirApp.air
    Is it possible to run the installer silently from the command line?  Part of our smoke test process is to do nightly builds which would include the adt command above.  What we're missing right now is automatically copying the installer to a QA machine and silently install from the command line.  Currently, we have a QA engineer manually running the GUI installer.
    We want to automate as much of our process as possible and without installing silently from the command line, we're kind of dead in the water for automating this process.  Thanks...

    Spent an hour last Friday on hold with Adobe support, bounced around to 4 different CSR's and no love getting my question answered.
    I spent part of my weekend solving this.  I'm sure there are other solutions, but here goes:
    1) Downloaded the 7-Zip utility from here: http://www.7-zip.org/
    2) Added c:/Program Files/7-Zip to my path (this helped with interactive testing from the command line)
    3) Made the following edit to my ant build.properties file:
         a) 7_ZIP_HOME=C:/Program Files/7-Zip
    4) Made the following edit to my ant build.xml file:
         a) <exec executable="${7_ZIP_HOME}/7z.exe">
               <arg line="x build/INSTALLER_CREATED_WITH_ADT.exe -obuild -y"/>
             </exec>
    Hope this saves someone else a little time...

  • Problems Creating a CSV from command line

    I have tried to create a csv file from the command line and get some unwanted lines of data in the output. Does anyone know how to create a csv without the extra lines from the command line.
    I am using the following sequence of commands.
    set wrap off
    set termout off
    set verify off
    set heading off
    set feedback off
    set lines 900
    set pages 9999
    set newpage none
    set embedded on
    set colsep ','
    set trimspool on
    spool test6.lst
    select * from rft;
    spool off
    When I run this from a script, I get exactly the data, which is what I want.
    When I run this from the command prompt, I get an extra line at the start and one at the end of the csv file.
    The data at the start is like this:
    WMSP:wmsp:SQL*Plus> select * from rft;
    The data at the end is like this:
    WMSP:wmsp:SQL*Plus> spool off
    Does anyone know how to keep these lines out of the data?

    Well, a workaround could be to use one of the gazillions of utilities in Unix/Linux to remove all lines having the sql prompt (SQL>), right after your "test6.lst" file has been created.
    I am using the "perl pie" for the same in the code snippet that follows:
    $
    $ cat create_csv.sh
    #!/bin/bash
    sqlplus -s test/test << EOF
    set wrap off
    set termout off
    set verify off
    set heading off
    set feedback off
    set lines 900
    set pages 9999
    set newpage none
    set embedded on
    set colsep ','
    set trimspool on
    set echo off
    spool test6.lst
    select * from t;
    spool off
    EOF
    # remove the lines that have the sql prompt: SQL>
    perl -pi -e "s/SQL\>.*$|^$\n//g" test6.lst
    $
    $ # run the script, dump stdout to the null device
    $ create_csv.sh 1>/dev/null
    $
    $ cat test6.lst
             1,a
             2,b
             3,c
             4,d
    $
    $Note that the "test6.lst" on my system had the prompt "SQL>". You will have to tweak that regular expression so that it works for the prompt in your "test6.lst" file.

  • JDev 10.1.3 how to invoke oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from command line?

    Hi, does anyone know how to invoke the JDev 10.1.3 oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from the command line? We have it working for 10.1.2, for automated deployment scripts.
    If I try the same thing for 10.1.3, I get an error.

    I think the error is in the Oc4jDcmServlet URL, the format seems to have changed from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3.
    I tried to reverse-engineer by using an HTTP tracer, but that did not help.

    In my opinion, you will succeed in handling linefeeds in output texts by using an <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt> tag in conjuction with a JSF converter that replaces the linefeeds with a <tt>&lt;br></tt> tag in the text. You will have to implement a custom converter class (this is quite simple, see below) and to set it to the <tt>converter</tt> attribute of the <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt>. The converter class should look like:
    public class MyLinefeedConverter implements javax.faces.convert.Converter
      public MyLinefeedConverter() {
      public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) {
        return value;
      public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) {
        if (value==null) return "";
        if (value instanceof String) return ((String)value).replace("\n", "<br>");
        return value.toString();
    }In this way the linefeeds in your text values will be replaced by <tt>&lt;br></tt>, which will be rendered by the corresponding <af:outputFormatted> tag as line breaks.

    Edited by: sapan on Mar 9, 2009 7:26 AM

    Hey sapan,
    You can use IdcCommand to execute services from the command line. The process is as follows:
    1. Create a text file with the services calls you want to make, the definitions are in hda format:
    @Properties LocalData
    IdcService=UPDATE_DOCINFO
    dID=1
    dDocName=000001
    dDocType=MyType
    dSecurityGroup=Public
    dRevLabel=1
    dDocAuthor=sysadmin
    dDocTitle=My Title
    @end
    <<EOD>>
    (Note: for multiple entries in the file <<EOD>> is very important)
    2. Execute IdcCommand from the <content server install>/bin directory:
    IdcCommand -f image_update.hda -u sysadmin -l c:\idccommand.log
    Options:
    -f = file with service definitions
    -u = user to run as
    -l (lowercase L) = location for log of execution
    More detailed documentation can be found in the Idc Command Reference (idc_command_reference_10en.pdf).
    Hope that helps,

    If this app. is normally hosted on wwwgate0.mot.com then it can 'phone home' to the server without further permission, but if you are running it from the command line, that might not be the codebase anymore.
    If you wish to do 'local testing' of such an app., I would recommend setting up a server like Tomcat on the local machine, and serving the test app. directly off that.

  • How to play with javascripts from command line?

    This is a problem that I always have no clue how to deal with.
    To begin with, take a look at this page: http://jsharer.com/file/1345737.htm
    If you click on "[TUTHE@ManYv][D`z][FLCL][05][H264_Vorbis][E4273181].mkv", after a little while a little window pops up and if you right click on the "点击此处开始下载", you can copy the direct download link.
    I previously used a simple bash script using curl to parse direct download links from this site. I like to do it at command line. It was easy because the link used to be directly shown in the page source code (though I had to call curl twice for it, it was fine.)
    But now I can't. It's all javascript. I ain't got no idea how to deal with this kind of stuff. I made my attempt to look at the page source, all I can tell is that the <div id="download_block"> part and the <div id="lord_content"> line seems to be important.
    I want to use my old good command line instead of click click click!
    Can somebody help me with this? Or please just give me some hints. It'd be fully appreciated. Thanks!

    If you know python, the package community/python-mechanize lets you automate a lot of this kind of thing. You can tell it to go to url so-and-so, simulate a click on the third link matching regexp such-and-such, preserving cookies the original page gave you, and so on.
    Has made most of my webpage scraping a hell of lot easier.
    EDIT: but I don't know whether it processes embedded Javascript, perhaps not.
