how to create 'OSS ' notes

    Hi
You can't create OSS notes. SAP already provides them.
Only thing is you have to see them and change/modify your programs as per tthe corrections mentioned in them.Again you should have a User id and Password to view them. You can view them through --search notes..

    Hi Afi,
If you are looking for creating an oss message with SAP  follow the path
http://service.sap.com/notes --> Report a Product Error --> select your system --> Enter the search term ( related to your issue)  and componenet ( if its basis BC , change management BC-CTC , if its for solution manager use SV-SMG or the sub component )
Now it will show the related oss notes and if that notes are not helpful you can create a message with SAP by clicking create message.

  • How to create OSS Account / ID

    Hi to all,
Can anybody give me the procedure / steps on how to generate an OSS Account / ID.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jaypee,
I think you're a BASIS administrator and you're just asking the standard procedure in creating OSS accounts so you can document it. I do have my own documentation regarding your issue.
    Here are the procedures:
    1. Log on to the service marketplace to generate an OSS account.
    2. To start the application, choose the link: <b>Request new user</b> on the start page of <b>User Data Administration</b>.
    3. Enter all personal data on the form which are flagged with <b>*</b>.
    4. You must have an administrator authorization to be able to define the authorizations of the newly requested user. Save your entries.
    5. If you have a requested user, the <b>Display Requested Users </b> shows the status of the request, it will now be in the status of <b>In Process</b> of generating user ID and password or <b>Successful</b> if the user ID has been successfully created.
    6. If creation of ID is successful, the user that requested the ID can now log on to the SAP service marketplace and he can change his password in <b>MyProfile</b> as soon as he is able to log on to the site.
Hope these procedures will do for your documentation.
    Regards.

  • HOw to create a Batch file for java application and whats the use of this ?

    HI,
How to create a Batch file for java application ?
And whats the use of creating batch file ?
    Thanks in advance

    First of all, you're OT.
Second, you can find this everywhere in the net.
If you got a manifest declaring main class (an classpath if needed), just create a file named whatever.bat, within same directory of jar file, containing:
javaw -jar ./WhateverTheNameOfYourJarIs.jar %*By the way, assuming a Windows OS, you can just double click the jar file (no batch is needed).
    Otherwise use:
javaw -cp listOfJarsAndDirectoriesSeparedBySemiColon country/company/application/package/className %*Where 'country/company/application/package/' just stands for a package path using '/' as separator instead of '.'
    Don't specify the .class extension.
Javaw only works on Windows (you asked for batch, I assumed .BAT, no .sh), in Linux please use java.exe (path may be needed, Windows doesn't need it 'cause java's executables are copied to system32 folder in order to be always available, see PATH environment variable if you don't know what I'm talking about) and use ':' as classpath (cp) separator.
The '%***' tail is there in order to pass all parameters, it only works on Windows, refer to your shell docs for other OSs (something like $* may work).
This way you have a command you can call to launch your code (instead of opening NetBeans just to see your app working). You could schedule tasks on it or just call it in any command prompt (hope you know what it is 'cause there have been people in this very same forum with no clue about it, if not just hold the 'Windows button' and press 'R', then type 'cmd' and run it).
Finally add dukes and give 'hem away.
    Bye.

  • How to create an External Alias for a Portal URL ?

    Hi Gurus,
Can anybody tell me how to create an external alias for a portal link(URL). Actually, my problem is i want to send this Portal URL(link) thru' a SendMail step to the user so that when he clicks on it, it will take him to his UWL(Ofcourse after signing-in). As this URL length is > 80 char(101 char), i am not getting the full lenght URL in my Outlook mail. THough we are on ECC 6.0,Basis Rel 7.0, as per the OSS note 559234, we should have this length extended to 132 bytes. But, for some reason, its not happening. And,in the same OSS note, it was mentioned that we can use external aliases to achieve this(shortening the URL length).
Can anybody tell me how to achieve this, either thru' increasing the URL length or thru' ext. aliases.
    Please reply asap.
    Thanks in advance

Not an issue as of now. I'll open up again if needed

  • How to create new dynamic subtotals in pricing

    Hello All,
Could any of you advice how to create a new dyncamic subtotals. I know how to create regular subtotals in KOMP but was wondering how create dynamic subtotals which can be used during the pricing runtime?
Some of the dynamioc subtotals are like XWORKI & XWORK J
    Thanks,
    Vinay

Based on a OSS note looks like these dynamic/auxiliary subtotals are initialized in LV61AA55. I think I might have to initialize some more if I need some.
However I see there are some IS-OIL subtotals like Y & Z. Can I use them to populate my condition value & subsequently use to calculate some pricing formulas. Would it have any impact if I am using those subtotals for calculation purposes only
    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks,
    Vinay

    Dear Niranjan
the WWI design of a cover letter is very "company" specific. In most cases data like:
    - which material number was "delivered" is shown e.g. with material text
    - some contact adress data from the company shipping the MSDS is shown
    etc.
Most of the information printed are retrieved using a parameter symbol. Some data might come from information in CVD1; some data is retrieved by using the data from CVD1; e.g. Customer adress information etc. (here data is retrieved from business partner information)
The parameter symbols you are showing are "standard"; therefore you can use option of Ralph to try to identify the "source" of the data as retrieved.
There are not many threads related to cover letter topic in this FORUM; I believe not more than 10 threads are related to this topic. I participated in discussion of one of these threads; i was not able to find the thread; sorry
Only as a hint: don't only concentrate on WWI design; identify as well how you need to "link" the cover letter to a specific "process"; this is done via customizing; e.g. refer to the SDS distribution OSS in which the whole SDS process is described; the process is described well how to "link" the cover letter to a shipment process
Topic is explained on "very" high level here:
Cover Sheet Template (DBV) - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library
So I believe the best option is to us the proposal of Ralph and trying to understand the standard symbols etc.
    C.B.
PS: after oce again trying to find additional threads I found only these:
Coverletter - Output of material data
Parameter Symbols not appearing in Coversheet and/or Acknowledgement Receipt

  • How to create DB partitioning in active data tables for ods?

    hi all,
Can anyone let me know how to create DB partitioning in active data tables for ods. if any docs pls share with me at my email id : [email protected]
    regds
    haritha

    Haritha,
The following steps will briefly explain you to improve the performance in terms of DB partitioning as well as loading. Please find the same,
    transaction RSCUSTA2,
    oss note 120253 565725 670208
and remove 'bex reporting' setting in ods if that ods not used for reporting.
    hope this helps.
    565725
    Symptom
This note contains recommendations for improving the load performance of ODS objects in Business Information Warehouse Release 3.0B and 3.1 Content.
    Other terms
Business Information Warehouse, ODS object, BW, RSCUSTA2, RSADMINA
    Solution
To obtain a good load performance for ODS objects, we recommend that you note the following:
    1. Activating data in the ODS object
In the Implementation Guide in the BW Customizing, you can implement different settings under Business Information Warehouse -> General BW settings -> Settings for the ODS object that will improve performance when you activate data in the ODS object.
    1. Creating SIDs
The creation of SIDs is time-consuming and may be avoided in the following cases:
    a) You should not set the indicator for BEx Reporting if you are only using the ODS object as a data store.Otherwise, SIDs are created for all new characteristic values by setting this indicator.
    b) If you are using line items (for example, document number, time stamp and so on) as characteristics in the ODS object, you should mark these as 'Attribute only' in the characteristics maintenance.
SIDs are created at the same time if parallel activation is activated (see above). They are then created using the same number of parallel processes as those set for the activation. However:if you specify a server group or a special server in the Customizing, these specifications only apply to activation and not the creation of SIDs.The creation of SIDs runs on the application server on which the batch job is also running.
    1. DB partitioning on the table for active data (technical name:
The process of deleting data from the ODS object may be accelerated by partitioning on the database level.Select the characteristic after which you want deletion to occur as a partitioning criterion. For more details on partitioning database tables, see the database documentation (DBMS CD).Partitioning is supported with the following databases:Oracle, DB2/390, Informix.
    1. Indexing
Selection criteria should be used for queries on ODS objects. The existing primary index is used if the key fields are specified. As a result, the characteristic that is accessed more frequently should be left justified. If the key fields are only partially specified in the selection criteria (recognizable in the SQL trace), the query runtime may be optimized by creating additional indexes. You can create these secondary indexes in the ODS object maintenance.
    1. Loading unique data records
If you only load unique data records (that is, data records with a one-time key combination) into the ODS object, the load performance will improve if you set the 'Unique data record' indicator in the ODS object maintenance.
    Hope this helps..

  • How to implement OSS notes : 207260

    Hi All,
Can anybody please let me know how to impement oss note : 207260.
I need to implement Note : 207260 which is settlement rule for incorrect last used period. In this note its saying to run ZMIGCOBR to repair incorrect settlement rule for incorrect objects. But in this notes its not given any such program.
Please let me know how to implement OSS notes since i never done this before.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vishal

    Check the below point:
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
Implementing OSS Notes Using the new Transaction Code SNOTE
In this document we will see how to implement an OSS note using the SNOTE
    transaction code.
The transaction code SNOTE is used to implement OSS Notes. With the SNOTE
transaction, it is no longer necessary to register ABAP objects such as report function
modules etc. manually. But data dictionary objects such as screens, tables need to
be modified manually by registering them in OSS system.
In order to use the transaction code SNOTE, the relevant transport which implement
this transaction in the system need to be transported. Please refer to the SNOTE
    guide available at http://service.sap.com
    Execute the Transaction code SNOTE
One of the first steps to do is to upload the note into your system.
Follow Goto à SAP Note Download
You can also use the SAP Note upload if the note has been saved in your local
    machine
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
In the following box that you get, enter the note number. We will take Note 388732
    as an example
and click on the Execute icon. You will get the note number displayed in the list of the
    OSS notes
In the above screen, we have two notes listed.
By double clicking on or on the note number you can display the OSS note.
You can also check the Status of the note by clicking on the Check SAP Note icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
Select the note and click on Check SAP Note icon. In this case we have selected
    note number 388732.
If the note is not implemented as part of some support pack as per the support pack
level of your system, you should get the following pop up box.
Select the note number that you want to implement and goto Edit à Select/deselect
    node
To implement the OSS note click on the Implement OSS Note icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You will get a confirmation box like the following
    Click on Yes
    Click on the Continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You will be prompted to enter a change request number.
Click on the Create Request icon
Enter a brief description of for the note and click on the continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
A change Request number is created for the change that you are making
    Click on the continue icon
The system will display the objects that are going to be modified during the process
    of note application.
In our case, Report LTXW0F10 and RTXWCHK1 are going to be modified.
    Click on the Continue icon
For while the system will show the note in IN PROCESS status
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
After a while, select the note and click on the Check SAP Note icon on the application
    toolbar
But still the Status of the note is displayed under In Process category.
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
You can also check the status of the note by checking the meaning of the icon next
    to the note number.
To check the legend, follow Utilities à Color Legend
As you can see from the legends box, means Implemented Correctly.
Since the note is implemented, you can change the status of the note from In
    Process to Completed manually.
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
Select the note and click on the Set Processing Status icon
In the Pop up box that you get, select the Completed radio button
And click on the Continue icon
SAP R/3 Document : Using Transaction SNOTE
    http://www.sappoint.com
The note number is removed from the list
ü You can also check the logs of the activities performed during the OSS note
implementation by clicking on the Logs icon on the application toolbar. The log
information will contain all the steps that were performed from the point of
downloading the note will its implementation is completed.
ü If there are any pre-requisite notes for the note that is being applied, the
system will prompt you to load those notes too into the system. Depending on
their applicability to your system, the system will prompt you accordingly to
    apply the pre-requisite notes.
ü You can register the manually implemented SAP notes by executing the report
    SCWN_REGISTER_NOTES.
ü SNOTE cannot change or modify data dictionary objects. If there is a note
which requires changes to be made to a structure or a screen then SNOTE will
not help. Such objects have to be registered and modified manually.
