Creating Page Turn effect

Sorry if this is a super basic question, but I'm learning, and I'm stuck.
I want to create the effect of a page turning. From going through the tutorial, I think I should use the 3-D Filter. What i can't figure out is how to create the "curl" effect of a page turning. Is this another filter? Or a behavior?
Any tips GREATLY appreciated.

Julie,
Motion will allow you to load a host of 3rd party filters in addition to the limited set provided by the software. I've loaded Boris filters and they work fine in Motion. CGM has a nice set of filters that include page turns which may work for you. You might be able to find some freeware filters floating around, too. Not all are compatible, but if the work in FCP, there's a good chance they'll work in Motion. Load your favorite filters folder in Motion's preferences pane. Once loaded, go to the 3rd party plug-ins in the browser (it's at the top of the list). Drop the filter on your layers just like you would a behavior. Open your inspector and have at it! How do I create page breaks in iCloud Numbers? The spreadsheet I created is 4-5 pages long, but it saves as one long scrolling document, and when it prints, all 4-5 pages are seen (very small, unreadable font) on a single page. Any ideas?

This excel feature is not exactly available in Numbers.
Here we may create up to 255 sheets in a document. They are reachable from the thumbnails area.
And each sheet may embed up to 255 tables also reachable from the thumbnails area.
Think different or use Excel !

How to prevent page turn in margin tap on a fixed layout ePub ?

I have created a fixed layout ePub for Apple iPad with some on-touch animations on tap. It works fine except the pictures which are in extreme margins (left and right). On touch it activates page-turn rather than the required animation. Is there any way to prevent page turn? Please help.

event.preventDefault() should do the trick on your own controls. If you are using one of the built-in iBooks shortcuts (read-aloud start/stop button comes to mind) then you may not have full control.

I am new to Oracle portal. i am using Oracle 3.0.
i am working on an application in portal. i have created n number of forms, reports, dynamic pages, menus, sub menus & lovs etc. currently i access my application in a raw manner. first login , then go to the navigator link then applications & click on menu.
my menu is a single entry point to my application. how can i publish this. i.e what i want to do is the moment user logs in he should straight away get the menu view.
I have read there is something by which we can create pages & publish them.
Could someone tell me how to create a page where i can drop my components such as menu , forms & reports on to it & then create a complete portal.
I can see a create page in my oracle portal but the moment i try to add a portlet in that page it gives me option for adding an appliction only what i want to add is the componenets(such as menus, forms etc) residing inside my application.
what it gives me is 2 options 1 to edit & the other to navigate the application only, here i can see my components but cannot include them in my page.

Hi,
First go to the navigator and click on the pages tab. From there click on create page link. Give the name of the page and finish with the page wizard. Then click on the created page from the navigator. Edit the page by clicking on the edit page link. Click on the "Add Portlet" icon and from there drill down into the application where the component is and then add it to the page. Make this page the default page for the users, who should see it when they log in.

In the navigation panel on the left choose Administration Guide > Content Administration. You will find topics on Pages, roles, worksets, etc.

How to create pages within a page?

Hello,
I'm still pretty new to Dreamweaver and I'm wondering if someone could point me in a direction to learn to create a specific thing for a website. I want to make something like at the bottom of this website: http://www.andymartin.clara.net/iframes/
He has the window within the main window there, that changes with the three links below it without actually changing the whole page. I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to point me to a tutorial on how this might be done? I'm working with version CS3. Thank you so much!

I would stay away from Iframes, they are problematic on a number of different levels. I would suggest that you start to learn html and css and get off on the right foot. Here is where I suggest you start.

How to create pages in ibooks author

I just got feedback from iTunes saying that my book has no visible pages in portrait mode. I created the book in landscape but i wouldn't mind it being in both formats. When i go to portrait mode I can't find a way to add a page or see the pages I created. How do you make pages in portrait mode?

Layout your book in landscape orientation - edit contents in portrait.
Use the toolbar to toggle between them.
Be sure to preview your book on your iPad in both.
If for some reason you only want to support landscape, use the Inspector/Document tab and select/check [ √ Disable portrait orientation ]

How to create pages in levels?

I have seen many websites with the home page address showing up as the name of the website and then as you click through the site, the web address changes..
For Example

Let me preface this by saying that keeping everything in separate folders is not a convenient way to build a static website.
Obviously, Adobe's site is not static; it's dynamically driven.
That said, you create folders in your local site and add an index.html page to each one.
domain.com/index.html (main home page)
domain.com/support/index.html (support page)
domain.com/support/contact/index.html (contact page)
domain.com/about/index.html (about page) and so on....
Think twice before you do this. With all those index pages floating around in your site, things can get very confusing.

How to Create Page Regions of Equal Size

Can someone please help on how I can Create the page regions with equal HEIGHT blocks organized along the x-axis_ - as in the apex IDE tool menu path (and many areas of apex IDE ): "*Administration -> Dashboard -> Users*" tab (apex 4.0 version)
You'll notice that irrespective of the report data contained in each of the region blocks on that page, the height of all the regions are well organized along the horizontal x axis and with same heights (row 2 specifically) :).
I'm having 3 regions on my page with Lists of links. But each region has different number of list-entries, thus my regions are not displaying the same height. I'm using Template 20 and region template as: "Borderless Region". Applying ReportRegiont template also doesn't help.
To summarize, irrespective of the height of the list-entries shown in each of my 3 regions on the page - Display Point: Page Template Body (1) - columns 1,2&3 - ", the surrounding region x-y height should be same - potentially equal to the y-axis height of the region containing the maximum list entries.

you can fix the height of region by this way..
Edit the region
In Region Header section put
<table width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="1" align="left">
<tr height="350px" width="450px" align="left" valign="top"> //you can set height and width according to you

In Region Footer section put
</td>
</tr>
</table>
put the above code in all region of your page...this make your all region same height and width.

How to create a turn-based multiplayer online game?

Hello. This is my first time here. I am familiar with programming games and have been doing so for 20 years. However, I'm completely new to using Java to do so. In the past, I wrote games in BASIC, Blitz, and C++ using DirectX. Being familiar with C/C++, the Java language syntax is not a hurdle for me.
I've never created a networking game, but I feel that if I tried to create one using one of the programming languages I already know that I would succeed at doing so. (I'm just trying to show that I feel confident in programming with the languages that i know)
The dilemma here is that someone else would like me to program a turn'based multiplayer game for them in Java.
I've downloaded the NetBeans 4.1 IDE and uncovered a lot of terms and such that I'm unfamiliar with.
What I'm looking for from you guys is an overview of what I need to do to achieve my ultimate goal of creating this online game.
As a reference, I need to create a game very similar to this one:

Upon starting the NetBeans IDE, I found that I could create several different types of projects. I guess first of all, I need to know what kind of project is best suited to make this type of game.
To name a few, I have to select from:
Java Application
Java Class Library (is this an Applet?)
Web Application
Enterprise Application
EJB Module
Then I guess I would like to know if any of the above projects would be used to make the clients interface or the server side software or both? Or do I need to use some other kind of software/programming language/etc. to create the server side? (As a side note, typically what kind of Operating system would the server be using? I ask because I may set one up myself for testing purposes.)
Somewhere I came upon the term 'Servlet'. Is this some kind of Java server application? Do I need/want to be using this?
As you can see, I'm very lost at where to begin. I'm not at all unfamiliar with programming. I'm just unfamiliar with Java.

I am in the process of learning Java myself and from what i have read, you have a long road ahead of you!
To start this Project the following will be essential for you to know:
Applets - if this is going to an online game
Multiple Threads - for the Server side
Swing - for the GUI on both sides
AWT - help work with the user input (mouseListeners, buttonListeners, etc)
And knowledge of a database.
those are the most obvious things that you will need to understand.
I strongly suggest buying a Java book from which you need to start at the beginning. Although the concept of OOP is the same through most languages Java has terms - as do all languages- that will be different from the other languages. Starting at the beginning will be beneficial to your Java coding future.
