How to create placeholders in Pages

How do I create Placeholders in my document, that allow for images to be dragged from iPhoto or from a Finder window into the Placeholder.
I am running the latest version of Yosemite as well as the latest version of Pages.
In the old version of Pages (I think it was called Pages '09), one simply created a Placeholder, by placing a shape in your document. You then set all of the attributes of the Placeholder, such as shape, size, frame, shadow, placement etc. Once you are happy you drag a photo in from the inspector panel on the right of the screen. Make sure that the image, is correctly sized within the Placeholder, by adjusting the Mask. Then all you do is duplicate this Placeholder, throughout your document and all the attributes stay exactly the same, you then just drag photo's into the various placeholders, and they automatically resize to the Placeholder.
Then Apple got it into their heads to downgrade Pages '09 to the latest crap version.....
Now you have a stupid pop-up media box at the top of your screen. You insert the photo, from iPhoto, set all the attributes, i.e. frame, size, shadow, placement etc. You can then duplicate this throughout your document. However, in order to change the image, you need to "right-click" select "replace image", then the stupid pop up window opens up and you can select your photo. The problem with this process, is that the pop-up window defaults back to the start of your file tree, which means lots of searching time going through all your events to find the right image, and you have to do this search for EVERY photo in your document. When you insert 20-30 images into every document, this becomes a very tedious process, resembling windoze word!
The image that you initially placed, cannot be changed by the drag and drop process, if you try to drag from either a finder window or iPhoto, the photo will not go into the frame, it places it onto the page, in large size so you then have to set all the attributes!!
If there is no way of fixing this, does anyone know how I can UPGRADE BACK TO PAGES '09?

Deposit, scale, and position your image in your document with any appropriate text wrap. Select the image, and from the Format menu > Advanced, choose Define as Media Placeholder. Save this as a template. In future usage, you can drag/drop an image of equal or greater size on this media placeholder, and larger images will automatically scale within the image boundaries.
No point complaining to us, or Apple about Pages v5. This is a user-to-user site, and Apple simply is not here.
If you have an iWork '09 DVD, you can install it on Yosemite — immediately followed by the Apple iWork 9.3 updater — which brings last revisions of iWork '09 applications. The DVD contents alone will not run on Yosemite. Be certain to run Disk Utility to verify/repair permissions on your boot drive after the updater has run.
Export your Pages v5 documents to Pages '09, and then move that /Applications/Pages.app (v5) into an arbitrary named folder, and then compress it. After you do that, double-clicking Pages '09 documents will open them in Pages '09. Otherwise, they will always open in Pages v5.

Anyway if you are trying to connect to an Oracle Database you dont need the jdbc-odbc bridge as oracle provides a special driver for java applets/applications that is "the thin driver" and the "oci driver"..so if you are connecting to Oracle your connection will look like this:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); //not sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection ("blah blah, blah");
no need for the jdbc-odbc bridge.

How to create a "Child" page?

Hello,i am very new to dreamweaver 8,and i have searched
everwhere possible on how to create a html page.My website has a
navegation bar.And on the navegation bar it has links,like
forums,your accounts,and etc,but thats already integrated with the
website.Now i have an option in the admin area,wher i can create a
new category so that it would show up in the navegation bar,and i
have a drop down menu where i cans select what to put in that
category.But also i have an option to put a external url,so that
when they click on it,it will take them to where that link is
directed.The point is that i asnt to make a category in the
navigation menu that says Lirics.So that i can put lirics of songs
and etc,and that when users click on that link it will take them to
the lirics page..Do you guys understand?Sorry for the bad english,i
am now quite good with it..

The pdf file is a simple application, but i want know how create a view in HTML format (<HTML>... </HTML>), maybe use HTMLB control, i don't sure it.
In fact, I need create a view in portal, some pictures in it, once mouse over one picture, it need change another picture replace old one. I don't know how to do it, just know it can be handled in HTML page. So, i need help.

<<< The only way to do this is with JS. You can use jQuery's .load() method
to load your cart into the registration layout. You'll have to do some
parsing of that cart table to obtain things like product name, quantity etc
and present this in some kind of summary. Parsing tables in jQuery is not a
nice task, so if you're going to embark onto producing this kind of summary
you may want to get rid off the table from the cart and simple throw in
some divs and tags which will help you parse the cart nicely. That mans
you'll have to construct the layout for the cart though using JS.

You can see that this is much nicer to read and you can then construct your
own data structure that will hold this info and render it it whichever way
you want to. You can even write it back as a table where each product is in
its own row. You may want to look at something that gives you template.
model, controller like ember.js.
Anyway, I hope that helps somewhat.

How to create a 4 page pdf from images - each page should open at same size

How do I create a 4 page pdf (from 4 images - all the same size) that opens each page at full page size?

My goal is to create multi page pdfs that are created from images (scans of old brochures). I receive images (scans of pages) all at the same size.
I have been able to create the 4 pdfs (each opens at full page size) and merge into 1 pdf. When I open that final pdf, I see a column of 4 pages, page 1 image being larger than the remaining 3. When I click on the left, page 1, icon, I get the full page. When I click on icons for pages 2 - 4, I get nothing. The only way I can get the other pages in a full page view is to adjust the scaling after left icon is selected. That is not what I want.
How I created the files.
I can either create pdf pages using Photoshop, or using Acrobat Pro itself through:
File> Create PDF> From File and adding each of the images. I then, for each, choose Properties> Initial View> Fit Page> Save. Then I use File> Combine> Merge Files into Single PDF> Save.
Then I open the multi page pdf.
I appreciate any help.

It seems to me what you want to do is create one document which a combination of all four and then one page of each.
To create a Document with 4 pages combined in to one PDF. open the first in a Series the to Edit menu and click on add pages click on next document (browse to document first) the choose attach to to end of document or add to end of document. Repeat until you get all images added. They will end up (or should ) center in center of their own page. Save this document with a new name for now.
Next go back to Photo shop and reduce size of images to fit desired sheet of paper (8-1/2 by 11, 8-1/2 by 14, whatever) place them side by side and row by row so you have 4 images on one page.
now save as Pdf.
now decide which you want to swap to the Thumbnails (the 4 on one page, or 4 individual pages. I would use the thumbnails and make each a button that references the page in the document you save as a 4 page pdf that applies.
Then on that page write a line saying click each illustration to see full size image (you might have to write this line while in Photoshop) then save this as PDF file
Try out. You might have to use some javascript controls to do this. But I am not experienced in JavaScript to do this. I'm sure it cane be done.
But note you will have to save both documents with the Thumbnails and the four page and Thumbnail page in a folder and send to prospect
If you want just four separate pages in one Pdf just do first two paragraphs above

When you create a new page in iWeb, it automatically adds its name into the navbar and creates a new page and folder with its content. Well, I want to create a new page that is a link to an outside webpage opening in a new tab. How do i do this? Editing the new page .html? I've tried that, but what should I write?

How to create a last page

Hello all.
I am creating an adobe print form where the signature area should be shown at the bottom of the last page only.
I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.1.
Here are the steps I did so far:
1. The master page contain the logo at the top of it. (Outside of the content area)
2. The master page contain the page number at the bottom. (Outside of the content area)
That way, the logo and the page number are shown on each pages.
3. The design View, contain several subforms where the information is displayed.
Now I need to know how I can create a Subform containing the signature box that will be displayed only at the bottom of the last page.
If possible, I would like to avoid to reduce the content area to plug the signature box.
So, if there is only one page, the signature box will be displayed at the bottom of the page before the page number and after the data from the design vew.
If there is more than one page, the signature box will be displayed only at the bottom of the last page.
I am new in the Adobe Form, so if possible, extensive explaination would be highly appreciated.

Hello everyone.
For everybody benefit, I do have a solution. I am not saying that it is the right solution but it did work for me.
So, here it is:
1. I had to create another master page (page 2)
2. I had to copy the information of the master page (page 1) that I want to have copied on the second page. ( Logo, page numbet etc.)
3. I created a subform containing the information that needs to be displayed on the last page only
4. I selected the new master page (page 2), when to the object tab, pagination subtab and select the "last page (in page set)" option at the placement field.
5. I selected the Master Page from the hiererchy tab, into the object tab, I selected the page set tab and in the printing field, I selected "Print on Front Side Only".
I hope that can help somebody else.

How to create an OAF page that does not need login to access

We have a lot of Oracle users, and everyday there are some users forget there username or password and need reset. I really want to use a web page to let them reset their passwords automatically. The web page will call the API to reset password if it found the user request is legible.
So based on the situation, the users should not need a login to get to this page, can I do this using OAF?
And idea is welcome, thank you for your help!

Thank you for your response, I think we need to go back to my original question, is it possible to create an OAF page that does not need login, how can I do that.
I think I said too much and led us to go to a different direction I did't want to. But I am still glad to texplain why I need a custom password reset process, that is all about business requirement, here it is:
----I am not sure that "company issues" (such as what you described) can be solved by software -
I already have a solution for that. Create a custom OAF page, ask user to input his SSN / Date of Birth.... then I can figure out what his real username easily. And I can reset his password as his SSN or something which only this particular user knows. Then he can login.
----you may have to impart training to end users.
As I mentioned, most of our users use only Benefit self service. They only login several times a year, even they are trained this year, most of them will forget next year, this is just human nature. And because the nature of our business, thousands of employees may change at the end of a year. It does not make any business sense for company to prepare trainers every year.
----In any case, the functionality you require is already built into the product.
I guess the reason most companies hire Oracle Developers is that some functionality Oracle Applications provide is not exactly the companies needed. When there is Oracle Apps product, there is alway customization.
