How to create radiant background?

I'm hoping this is a RTFM question, but I'm tying to create a radiant background similar to these slides (http://blog.duarte.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/one-idea.jpg). I know how to create a linear gradient fill, but I can't seem to figure out how to create a radiant one.

Put a shape behind everything and with it selected:
+Inspector > Graphic (5th tab) > Fill > Advanced Fill > 2nd box under gradient bar+

How to create a background image for each item in a List object

Hello.
I am trying to create a background image that displays whenever a user posts something to a list. For example when a user posts text it would appear in a list. The new item in the list would contain a specific background image with the users text appearing on top of the background image. I do not want a background image for the entire list, rather each item within the list.
I am not sure how clear this is so I added an image below. When a user enters text in and clicks the "post-it" button their text would appear below with the sticky note background.
I am not sure which list type would be best for this problem or how to create insert the image, so I am open to suggestions.

the easiest way would be with itemRenderer.
You have to do two things:
1. In your list declaration use a item renderer: <mx:List itemRenderer="myRenderer"/>
2. create a flex component myRenderer that will be the single item. This can be a canvas with a background image and a text field on it.
When you add a new item to the list, a new myRenderer item will be created and the data property will be passed to it. So you have to put "data" in your textField.
If you need more help try looking at Tour de Flex samples, they're pretty easy.

Hi,
There are two cases
1) to raise an event after the completion of a job
This can be done by using ABAP coding, trigger the event using a program by the 'RAISE' statement. The job can be scheduled to run in the background daily or weekly(or anything as per the requirements)
2) to run a job after an event
in the start condition of the job, give the event name which should trigger that job in the after event field.
or if you want to run multiple jobs after one event completes, give that event in the start condition of all the jobs.. or model a process chain which will run this jobs..

We have a specific requirement here.
We have an application service which perform some updates based on timestamp etc, it will be exposed as a Web Service.
The requirement here is that a background job should invoke this Web Service everyday at Midnight.
But here I don't know how to implement this functionality in SAP CE 7.1.
Please reply ASAP.

Create a class and extend MDBJobImplementation override the method onJob in this method trigger your webservice.

Are there classes in any package to create colored textures for background swing components ?
If so, thanks to point me to URLs or samples.

The basic packages for drawing 2D graphics are found in "java.awt.*", and for your specific needs you need the various implementations of the Paint interface, ie GradientPaint, TexturePaint, etc.

To paint various graphics you need a JPanel and then you need to override the "paintComponent(Graphics g)" method and do your own custom painting.

Try this:
1) Go to tcode SE38 - ABAP Editor
2) Enter ABAP program name RSDS_REPL_RESET
3) Click on Execute
4) In the Selection-Screen, enter the source system to replicate from, or * if you want to replicate from all source systems.
5) If you just want to replicate BW 3.5 DataSource, enter ISFS as the Preferred Type. Or, if your preference is for BW 7.x DataSources, etner RSDS as the Preferred Type. If there is no preference, leave the field blank and it will replicate both types.
6) Go to the menu option Program > Execute in Background

How to create transparent background video?

I'm trying to add some filters to some some imported text files from Photoshop, but they don't work so well so I need to import them as transparent video files. So, how do I export the text as a ProRes file from FCP with a transparent background so I can re-import it and add the video filters?
I've tried fiddling around with the alpha channels but the background always seems to be black.

You don't export the files as a ProRes clip.
Place your text on a transparent background and export from PS as .tiff or .png stills. They will composite automatically. You can set the default length required in FCP's User Preferences...
You must do this before you import the files.

A ABAP List report is taking too long to run. It takes nearly 5 mints sometimes it is halted by a timeout. I would like to run this report as a background job. What's the transaction I should use & could U give me the steps. Also is it possible to schedule the Job to run on 1st of every month.

doing something programmatically certainly has an advantage of automation... there may be cases wherein depending on certain conditions u need to run different programs in the background.. so this can be incorporated in the program itself using if/else or other condition commands..
there may be numerous other differences too.
SM36 option is more of static one and programmitaclly is more on the fly scheduling a job.
Using SM36, it not a one time thing. If you want program to run at a specific frequency, say every 24 hrs, that also can be done.

How to create a Background effect on JMenuItem?

I'm trying to create an effect similar to what is found in Microsoft Office Applications where on a JMenuItem there is a block of colour that runs down the lefthand side of the component. Any icons associated with a specific menuitem then appear on top of this block of colour.
Does anyone know if these blocks are icons themselves (some with another icon and some without) or is there a method of setting a block of colour to this component. The former would mean creating alot more icons and seems a bit excessive for the cause.

You could try using a rigid body proxy as the anchor for the skirt, and each frame update the position and orientation of the anchor by getting the worldTransform of the corresponding bone:

To prevent the skirt intersecting the legs, you may want two more rigid bodies (one for each thigh) that are updated according to the femur bones. Setting the cloth's enableCollision property to true should have the cloth collecting around the legs instead of passing through them.

The obvious way is to shoot with a large aperture / higher focal length lens and set the depth of field by choosing an appropriate f/stop.
Assuming you already have an image where the background is within the DOF (i.e., everything's in focus), what you want can be accomplished, but it's not trivial to do, and it gets MUCH easier in Photoshop CS5 and newer because of two new functions (Refine Edge and Content Aware Fill).
Generally speaking, you can do it something like this:
1. Select just the subjects you want to remain in focus.
2. Make a new layer using the selection as a mask (Refine Edge in the newer Photoshop helps with this).
3. Fill the subjects in the lower layer with stuff that looks like the background.
4. Lens Blur the lower layer.
That sounds simple, but the devil is in the details.

How to show the first page and then rest will be created in background

Dear Friends,
I am suffering from some seriouse issue of slow opening of report....
I am using vs2005 and asp.net 2.0 and crXI R2 sp4,
using oledb for getting data from ms sql server 2005.
Now my one report called accounts ledger
when i execute the report query it takes 1.03 mins for 515000 records..no issue with it ,
when i execute the report from report desginer for 515000 records its taking 26 mins . It is generating all
32000 pages.
Now same report i run from my web based erp application it takes 30mins to execute 32000 pages now
this is too much time it is taking and now our client is fedup of ussss..
So is there any way that we can show First page at the earliest and rest of the pages willl be getting created in background? is it possible ?
We have to give them the solution as sson as possible...
can anyone suggest the diff ways to get out of this problem .......

Here are a few points related to performance issue. These might be helpful.
The performance of a report is related to:
External factors:
1. The amount of time the database server takes to process the SQL query.
( Crystal Reports send the SQL query to the database, the database process it, and returns the data set to Crystal Reports. )
2. Network traffics.
3. Local computer processor speed.
( When Crystal Reports receives the data set, it generates a temp file to further filter the data when necessary, as well as to group, sort, process formulas, ... )
4. The number of records returned
( If a SQL query returns a large number of records, it will take longer to format and display than if was returning a smaller data set.)
Report design:
1. Where is the Record Selection evaluated?
Ensure your Record Selection Formula can be translated in SQL, so the data can be filter down on the server, otherwise the filtering will be done in a temp file on the local machine which will be much slower.
They have many functions that cannot be translated in SQL because they may not have a standard SQL for it.
For example, control structure like IF THEN ELSE cannot be translated into SQL. It will always be evaluated
in Crystal Reports. But if you use an IF THEN ELSE on a parameter, it will convert the result of the condition to
SQL, but as soon as uses database fileds in the conditions it will not be translated in SQL.
2. How many subreports the report contains and in section section they are located.
Minimise the number of subreports used, or avoid using subreports if possible because
subreports are reports within a report, and if you have a subreport in a details section, and the report returns 100
records, the subreport will be evaluated 100 times, so it will query the database 100 times. It is often the biggest
factor why a report takes a long time to preview.
3. How many records will be returned to the report.
Large number of records will slow down the preview of the reports. Ensure you only returns the necessary data on the report, by creating a Record Selection Formula, or basing your report off a Stored Procedure, or a Command Object that only returns the desired data set.
4. Do you use the special field "Page N of M", or "TotalPageCount"
When the special field "Page N of M" or "TotalPageCount" is used on a report, it will have to generate each page
of the report before it displays the first page, therfore it will take more time to display the first page of the report.
If you want to improve the speed of a report, remove the special field "Page N of M" or "Total Page Count" or formula that uses the function "TotalPageCount". If those aren't use when you view a report it only format the page requested. It won't format the whole report.
5. Link tables on indexed fields whenever possible.
6. Remove unused tables, unused formulas, unused running totals from the report.
7. Suppress unnecessary sections.
8. For summaries, use conditional formulas instead of running totals when possible.
9. Whenever possible, limit records through selection, not suppression.
10. Use SQL expressions to convert fields to be used in record selection instead of using formula functions.
For example, if you need to concatenate 2 fields together, instead of doing it in a formula, you can create a SQL Expression Field. It will concatenate the fields on the database server, instead of doing in Crystal Reports.
SQL Expression Fields are added to the SELECT clause of the SQL Query send to the database.
11. Using one command as the datasource can be faster if you returns only the desired data set. It can be faster if the SQL query written only return the desired data.
12. Perform grouping on server
This is only relevant if you only need to return the summary to your report but not the details. It will be faster as less data will be returned to the reports.

1.) Create New
2.) i click + sign under section Library >> Scripts >> Add JS File from URL...

Then i select Rectangle Tool and mark the area (white box) and i click on small C icon
And the box that occures i type there backgroundvideo_1_mp4 autoplay
now when i use ctrl and enter i only get gray box that does not play video.
What am i doing wrong?
