How to create restore cd or recovery cd for macbook pro

how to create a recovery cd or factory cd of macbook pro

There is no factory CD/DVD for OS X. You can create such an animal, however:

OS X Recovery Disk Assistant v1.0
You will need a 2 GB USB flash drive partitioned GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled.
If you wish to make a bootable installer:
Make Your Own Mountain/Lion Installer
1. After downloading Mountain/Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Mountain/
Lion application. After Mountain/Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button.
Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Mountain/Lion installer. Move
the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You
must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes
    installing.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
  a. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
  b. After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left
side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
  c. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the
partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until
      the process has completed.
  d. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side
list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
  e. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the
button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
  f. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash
     drive size.
3. Use Lion DiskMaker 2.0 to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Note: The term Mountain/Lion used above means Lion or Mountain Lion.

  • How do I restore from the icloud to my MacBook Pro?

I am not seeing how to RESTORE from iCloud back to my MacBook Pro... how do I do this?  My Harddrive died a few weeks ago and I want to recover whatever I have in the cloud.

    Howdy Mdelrusso,
It sounds like you are wanting to restore from your iCloud backup to your MacBook Pro.
iCloud backups are for iOS devices, and does not backup Mac computers.
    What iCloud backs up
You have important information on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. iCloud automatically backs up your device over Wi-Fi every day while it’s turned on, locked, and connected to a power source. With your device information backed up in iCloud, you can easily set up a new device or restore information on one you already have.

    What didn't work?
    Booting or restoring?
Cmd-R goes to the hard drive recovery partition.
Cmd-Opt-R goes to Internet Recovery and requires a WiFi network with WPA/WPA2 encryption (or an ethernet cable).
Are you using an external wireless keyboard?

  • How to fix resolution problem in Photoshop CC for Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display

I design email promotions for my website in Photoshop CC on a new Macbook w/ retina screen. However, document sizes appear much smaller in my Macbook than they did on my windows laptop. A 700px wide document now appears to be 350px wide.
When I designed the email graphics, upload, and then view in a browser, everything is pixelated. The document/graphic is still 700px, but its pixelated in the browser. After some Googling, I have a better understanding of the problem but not a complete understanding. Its all so technical. I've read that some designers choose to create their graphics with another lower resolution monitor connected to their Macbook (if I explained that correctly)... not an option for me, though, unfortunately.
How can I fix this problem? I basically design for the web so its important that these graphics are at their highest resolution when viewed on a web browser. Any solutions? Help! I will try everything in my power.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to try to help out. It
    is much appreciated.
The two things that first come to mind are: I have many friends in the
industry who paint solely in Photoshop and do just fine. My computer is
technically "old," but the specs are still just fine—even the graphics card
is the exact same one that is in the new Cintiq Companions (the all-in-one
    computer/cintiq machines).
And, more so, I was painting on it for a few weeks without noticing
anything. A part of me wonders, did I just not notice it until it became
    dramatically worse?
I do remember painting fur, which requires making tons of small brush
strokes over an extended period of time, and I don't remember there being
    any lag.
By the way, I forgot to mention: I've even tried going into the Performance
preferences and disabling the graphics card altogether. No luck. Still an
    issue.
As far as painting at 100%: I do notice an amount of improvement. The one
brush stamp, or space, whatever you call it, issue only happened on the
first brush stroke (every time) and then just once otherwise. The lag was
tremendous—and I compared it to Painter's performance, which had no issues
    whatsoever.
I am really hoping to be able to rely on Photoshop more and more, as its
tools for other aspects of image manipulation are far more robust than
Painter's. And the working compatibility with Adobe InDesign, Flash, and
Adobe Media Encoder are sooooooo useful for speeding up the workflow.
Hopefully we can find out what's going wrong.
I'm truly baffled on this one.

  • How to create restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1

hi i am bhaskar ... how to create restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1 and how to restore system from a restore point in windows server 2008 service pack1.. is this option available or not ? what is the difference between shadow copies and
restore point ? instead of restore point we have this shadow copies option in windows server 2008 ?Bhaskar

AFIK, Restore Points doesn’t exist in Windows 2008.
Volume Shadow Copy option can be used to achieve:
Creating consistent backups of open files and applications
Creating shadow copies for shared folders
Creating transportable shadow copies using a hardware provider — for backup, testing and data mining scenarios
Quickly recovering and restoring files and data
It is more like a file, data, application backup.

How do i restore a deleted admin on my macbook air

If you have lost a folder, it is either misplaced (try searching for it) or you have deleted it somehow. If it has been deleted, your best option is to restore it from backups.
If you don't have backups, you may be about to learn the hard way why backups are important. You can try to use some file recovery software, but you should not expect to get everything back in exactly the same condition it was in before. See:

  • How can I create a Virtual Private Nework on my MacBook Pro?

    Hello all,
I have a MacBook Pro 17" with OS X 10.4.7. I need to install and run five instances of Apache2 and demonstration the websites without having to be connected to a network/Internet. My /etc/hosts file would look something like:
    192.168.21.1 www.local
    192.168.21.2 svn.local
    192.168.21.3 trac.local
    192.168.21.4 jsp.local
    192.168.21.5 cfmx.local
Then I could just open up a browser and type www.local in the url locator.
How would I setup a virtual network card where I can assign these IP addresses to it? Would I use the lo0 (loopback) for this?
I also have Parallels installed so that I can run one or more other operating system along side Mac OS X like Windows XP Pro, Redhat, etc.
Is there a way that I could create a virtual private network on my MacBook Pro and not have to be connected to any network?
    How would I do this?
    Thanks,
    Troy Simpson

As it turns out this is exactly what I am looking for:
    http://forum.parallels.com/thread1877.html
I want to create a Host-Only Network on my MacBook Pro. The Parallels software created a virtual Network Interface Card on the Host OS called en2. I just added aditional IP Address to this virtual Network Interface Card.
Even if you do not use Parallels for Hosting Guest OS (Virtual Machines), it does create the Virtual Network Interface Card.
Now I have 5 Web Servers on my MacBook Pro so that I can test various senerios and configurations.

  • How can i Flash and restore the firmware ( EFI ) from a Macbook pro ( late 2008 , 5.1 ) ??

    How can i Flash and restore the firmware ( EFI ) from a Macbook pro ( late 2008 , 5.1 ) ??
    Please help me !!

The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8
The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes.
