How to Create reusable Jsfcomponent in Jheadstart 10.1.3.2

Hi Jheadstart team,
We are in the early stages of developing a larg project using jheadstart 10.1.3.2. 52 and we have some jsf compoents which will be repeated in meny pages like emploee information or product information.
I wander if it is posiable to obtain some functionality like "Reusable module component" whitch was in oracle Designer?
I have see the following demonstration in jdeveloper 11g Demos: http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11/demos/reusableJSFComponents/reusableJSFComponents.html
and my question is if there is a way to implement such a functionality in Jheadstart 10.1.3.3?

Alireza,
You could use an af:region and include that in each and every page, using JHeadstart custom templates. Similar to how we use af:region elements for including the menu, form browse buttons, etc.
However, a 10.1.3 af:region does not have native support for its own page definition like in R11, so you need to create a separate page definition, which needs to be "prepared" (calling refreshControl on it) for each page in wich you use the region. You can do this by overriding the JhsPageLifecycle class.
Furthermore, the value bindings of the items within the region cannot use the #{bindings.EmployeeId.inputValue} notation, because they need to point to the separate page def, so you should use the notation #{data.SeparatePageDefName.EmployeeId.inputValue}.

You can set Authentication Schemes for your applications. If you are using Application Express Authentication, you can create additional users from here:
1. From Application Express home, click Manage Application Express users.
2. Click Create to create users. To create end user, select "no" to developer and admin.

After you create your title in the Titler, close the Titler.
The tilte file will have been automatically placed on the Timeline at the position of the Timeline Indicator.
Open Project Assets, and select the thumbnail for the title file that was placed there also automatically.
With the Project Assets title thumbnail selected, go to File Menu/Export/Title in order to export your title as a prtl file saved to the computer hard drive for future use. This principle also applied to Title Templates edited in the Titler.

Creating ReUsable TaskFlows

hi All,
I'm using ADF BC, JDev 11G. I need to reuse the task flows built as a part of different applications. I've included the sources by opening the respective projects(model and ViewController). Following the instructions from Packaging a Reusable ADF Component into an ADF Library I was able to create the File System.
The error is that I'm not able to use that taskflow as a button on the page in a different application. I'm getting error MDS-00013. How to solve this issue.
Is there a simpler method to create reusable components, task flow etc.

Hi,
Once you create a file system connection to the directory where you have deployed your ADF Library, you can expand the library in the Resource palette. You can right click it to add it to an active project in your app. If you have multiple projects, choose one that you wanna add the library to.
If you have reusable task flows you will find ADF Taskflows node under the jar in the resource palette. Just drag and drop the task flow as a region or a dynamic region in your jspx page. Or if you wanna use it as a task flow call or return, then you can see the jar in the component palette. Just expand the drop down in the component palette, choose the jar. Then drag and drop the task flow.
BTW if you have a db connection etc packaged in your jar an dif you are reusing them, then the password wont be included. Expand the app resources accordion, choose your connection and enter the password for your db connection.

Hi,
I think you mean query strrucutures in Query designer. Goto rows/columns. Right click on columns and choose new structure. Now you can define all fields for your structure. Right click and choose new selection or formula. Then right click and choose save as. Now you can save it as reusable structure for other queries.

How to create a dialog window with no button that opens along with the main window?

When the main window is open, the dialog window opens up immediately and can be closed by key press. At other times, when the next step, ie: decision, comes to, the another dialog window pops up again and is again closed by key press. Does anyone know how to do? Use the sub-Vi? notification method? occurrence method?
And another thing: how to create a reusable dialog window with no button so that different messages can be sent to it and it can closed by key press. And how to pass the string to the title of the dialog window programmatically?

For your functionality (If I understand it right), nothing needs to be in the event structure. Pressing any key just triggers the event, thus finishing the VI (there is no while loop).
Could you tell me what you mean my "it won't run properly"? Make sure that the front panel of the subVI is closed before starting the main VI. Remember that the subVI is set to "open when called" and "close afterwards if originally closed". So, if you had the panel open already, it won't of course close when finished!
(Actually, the problems is worse when you have the subVI panel open when starting the main VI. you get a catch22 and labVIEW locks up because (1) the subVI is set to dialog and grabs all attention but (2) it has not been
called, thus the event cannot be triggered. So don't do that!!!! As a quick workaround, add the modification shown in the attached image to ensure the panel of the subVI is closed.)

How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically

I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
The report has no tables.
So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.

How to create a group calendar?

i am sorry but this is one more question on wiki-group-calendars.
*In short:*
I am not able to create a group calendar with the wiki frontend. the calendar that is created with a wiki is owned by the admin of the wiki. So it is always a personal calendar that cannot be shared in iCal.
LONG:
I want to create a group calendar that is viewed and edited through iCal.app and the web service. Apple´s "wiki deployment" guide says on page 57:
+"The web calendar allows you to easily schedule events for yourself or your group. ...+
+There are *two types of web calendars: personal and group*. You can send and receive event invitations through the personal calendar but not through the group calendar. Also, *while anyone in a group can create or edit events in a group calendar*, you can edit only events in your own personal calendar or event invitations you send to other people.+
+The web calendar uses iCal Server to store events and invitations. ..."+
But there is not mentioned how to create a group calendar. The calendar created with the wiki web-frontend belongs to the admin of that particular wiki. This is why the calendar data ist stored in folder named with the UUID of the wiki admin. Also the alias "http://server.fqdn:8008/principals/groups/mygroupname/" which i provided in iCal turns into ..._uids_UUID-of-the-wiki-admin and only the wiki-admin can access this calendar in iCal.app.
My research on this topic reveals that there were in issue that should be resolved in 10.6.4 (that is running on our Server). So, again, how to create a group calendar?

I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.

How to create a variant to a maintenance view (trans: SM31)

Hi gurus.
I have created a maintenance view (called z_jest). By running it from SM31 there is a variant option. However, I am not able to create the variant which I want to filter a selection upon in this transaction.
I have even looked into transaction SE54 and created a variant for the maintenance table view there( called z_jestv). Then going back to transaction SM31 and view z_jest, i push 'Variant' radiobutton and type as variant: 'z_jestv', I only get the message: "Variant z_jestv for object z_jest does not exist".
Can anybody please advice on how to create and/or connect the variant to the maintenance view?

When I look into the procedure, there is a prerequisite: "The basis dialog for which the maintenance variant is created already exists."
I am a little bit unsertain if I miss this 'Basic dialog'. Can you please advice on how to check / create this 'basic dialog' before I go on to create the variant. (I need this 'basic dialog' as input in the procedure you sent.)
(Note: I have already created a 'maintenance dialog' for the view, but I have a feeling, that is something different...)
