How to create Salary Break-up in Fusion

Hi,
We have requirement where in we need to break of salary i.e. CTC amount.
For example :
Salary : 10000 INR
Basic : 5000 INR i.e. 50% of Salary
HRA : 5000 INR i.e. 50% of Salary
Likewise we have 6-7 breakup for salary.
Please suggest us how to go about accommodating this requirement in Fusion.
Thanks,
Meghana

Hi,
When you view the output from the report run in batch you are presumably looking at the spool output. Because you are viewing a preview of what is sent to the printer the spool applies page breaks based on the printer parameters. When you run the report in dialog you view the report on the screen, and the spool is not involved, so no page breaks.
If you print your report in dialog then review the spool you'll find it has the page break just as the background run has.
Regards,
Nick

• How to create page breaks in numbers?

How do I create page breaks in iCloud Numbers? The spreadsheet I created is 4-5 pages long, but it saves as one long scrolling document, and when it prints, all 4-5 pages are seen (very small, unreadable font) on a single page. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Dave

This excel feature is not exactly available in Numbers.
Here we may create up to 255 sheets in a document. They are reachable from the thumbnails area.
And each sheet may embed up to 255 tables also reachable from the thumbnails area.
Think different or use Excel !

• How to create dynamic break groups?

Hi,
The report I'm trying to create contains several hierachies which translate into break groups. The number of hierachies and break groups displayed will depend on user parameter. The report could look like this:
---Report 1
Store Total :AAAAAA
Division Total :BBBB
Department CCCCC
---Report 2
Store Total :AAAAAA
Division Total : BBBB
Department Total :CCCCC
Class DDDDD
---Report 3
Store Total :AAAAAA
Division Total : BBBB
Department Total :CCCCC
Class Total DDDDD
Subclass EEEEE
I read that lexical reference can only be used if the number of columns returned and the datatypes are the same but the number of columns returned by my report varies (depending on user's choice). I tried using Filter on the breakgroups but found that this will affect the Total figures. Any kind of help will be appreciated, thank you.

Is the Class in Report2 the same as Class Total in Report3? In this case just create report with maximum possible number of groups, and then conditionally suppress frames of those groups not needed for current report. Labels for totals can also be adjusted dynamically.

• How to create a custom application in Fusion Apps release 4 ?

Hello Experts,
My project has a requirement to define a custom application in Fusion Apps, the one that is equivalent to fnd_application from EBS.
Any document or note explaining the creation of custom application in Fusion and its association with Unix directory structure would be of great help.
Kindly share the experience if any of you have worked on the same and have anything documented.
Thanks in advance.

• How to create context break in adavanced java function

I have an array with result list. I'm using result.addValue to collect my result.
ex:
00001 213243
00001 214445
00003 324543
00004 456767
I want to introduce (context) split based on another logic and be able see this result which has context break based on the line number in my far left. Is this possible?
00001 213243
00001 214445
00003 324543
00004 456767

Hi Parimala,
You can use
result.addValue(ResultList.CC);
in your java code to insert a context change.
You use this statement insided your code whenever you want to insert a context change based on the logic.

Hi there
Does anyone know how to create a page break in the PDF output when using the EXPORT TO PDF command?

Hello Mister and Misses
Can somebody explain me how i can create a conditional page break , because i want to limit the number of lines to 9 l ines in a bloc
each 9 lines I want to create a break page
example :

My first column is not a dimension so, i can't manage to make a page break
How is it possible to tranform a measure to a dimension in order to make a break on each 9 lines
Thank you

Hi  It is a dimension
I changed the type to a dimension type but it still doesn't work
My table has 2  sections
1 section (synthese line)
1 section (due date )
and I'd like to make a break page
synthese line 1------
due date- 1-----
1
2
3
4

due date- 3-----
1
2
3 - I D Like to make a break page here (so each 9 lines in the bloc)
4
5
6
due date- 4-----

• How to create users in Fusion MiddleWare Control.

Hi,
Can someone guide me on how can we create readonly users for FMW control. I need to know this as the application support team would have to login to the console to check the status of the BPEL instances. This user should not have any access other than read.
Thanks,

Hi Baskar,
Thanks for checking this thread.
The reply that you've mentioned holds good for the Weblogic Server Administration Console and i have done that and it works fine.
But what i need is, how to create a read-only user for the FusionMiddleWare Control. This would be required for the SOA application support team so that they can check the BPEL instances but not do any other administrative task or anyother. This was a missing facility in BPELConsole 10.1.3.3.1 and Oracle used to tell that this would be available in 11g, so wanted to check if anyone has explored this facility and if it is available or not.
When i try using the new id that i create in the Weblogic Server Administration Console and associate to the App_Deployer group it does not allow me to login in the FMWControl, if i assiciate that id with the Adminsitrator group then im able to login to FMW control, but this user has all access :(.

• How to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction?

I have setup a pension retro element and its calculating the retro amount correctly.
However, its using sum of salary arrears (say,arrears for the month of March and April) and adding that to May salary and deducting pension on the total sum.
(we do not want this, we want only May salary to be considered for pension retro element)
Does anyone know how to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction element? Is there any obvious step, which I am missing in while defining the element?

Hi,
While doing retro for arrears, it will give at a time in one payroll only, no standard for installment payments.
2nd option:
Calculate the Total Arrears amount and divide it by four installments and through IT 0014 with New wage type and give for 4 months as start and end date.
* you have to create a new wage type which is taxable and assigned to IT 0014.
* add this new wt in Remuneration form in Earnings side.

I want to create the running digital clock in my java swing application. Can someone throw some light on this how to do this ? Or If someone has done it then can someone pl. paste the code ?
Thanks.

hi prah_Rich,
I have created a digital clock you can use. You will most likely have to change some things to use it in another app although that shouldn't be too hard. A least it can give you some ideas on how to create one of your own. There are three classes.One that creates the numbers. a gui class and frame class.

• How to create a dynamic RTF report which creates dynamic columns based on dynamic column selection from a table?

Hi All,
Suppose I have table, whose structure changes frequently on daily basis.
For eg. desc my_table gives you following column name on Day 1
SQL > desc my_table;
Output
Name
Age
Phone
On Day 2, two more columns are added, viz, Address and Salary.
SQL > desc my_table;
Output
Name
Age
Phone
Address
Salary
Now I want to create an Dynnamic RTF report which would fetch data from ALL columns from my_table on daily basis. For that I have defined a concurrent program with XML as output type and have attached a data template/data definition to it which takes in XML as input and gives final output of conc program in EXCEL layout. I am able to do this for constant number of columns, but dont know how to do it when the number of columns to be displayed changes dynamically.
For Day 1 my XML file should be like this.

<dataTemplate name="XYZ" description="iExpenses Report" Version="1.0">
<dataQuery>
<sqlStatement name="Q2">

SELECT Name
,Age
,Phone
FROM my_table

</sqlStatement>
</dataQuery>
<dataStructure>
<group name="G_my_table" source="Q2">
<element name="Name" value="Name" />
<element name="Age" value="Age" />
<element name="Phone" value="Phone" />
</group>
</dataStructure>
</dataTemplate>
And my Day 1, EXCEL output from RTF template should be like this.
Name     Age     Phone
Swapnill     23     12345
For Day 2 my XML file should be like this. With 2 new columns selected in SELECT clause.

<dataTemplate name="XYZ" description="iExpenses Report" Version="1.0">
<dataQuery>
<sqlStatement name="Q2">

SELECT Name
,Age
,Phone
,Address
,Salary
FROM my_table

</sqlStatement>
</dataQuery>
<dataStructure>
<group name="G_my_table" source="Q2">
<element name="Name" value="Name" />
<element name="Age" value="Age" />
<element name="Phone" value="Phone" />
<element name="Address" value="Address" />
<element name="Salary" value="Salary" />
</group>
</dataStructure>
</dataTemplate>
And my Day 2, EXCEL output from RTF template should be like this.
Name     Age     Phone     Address     Salary
Swapnill     23     12345         Madrid     100000
Now, I dont know below things.
Make the XML dynamic as in on Day 1 there must be 3 columns in the SELECT statement and on Day 2, 5 columns. I want to create one dynamic XML which should not be required to be changed if new columns are added in my_table. I dont know how to create this query and also create their corresponding elements below.
Make the RTF template dyanamic as in Day1 there must 3 columns in EXCEL output and on Day 2, 5 columns. I want to create a Dynamic RTF template which would show all the columns selected in Dynamic XML.I dont know how the RTF will create new XML tags and how it will know where to place it in the report. Means, I can create RTF template on Day 1, by loading XML data for 3 columns and placing 3 XML tags in template. But how will it create and place tags for new columns on Day 2?
Hope, you got my requirement, its a challenging one. Please let me know how I can implement the required solution using RTF dynamically without any manual intervention.

Swapnil K.

Hi All,
I am able to fulfil above requirement. Now I am stuck at below point. Need your help!
Is there any way to UPDATE the XML file attached to a Data Definition (XML Publisher > Data Definition) using a standard package or procedure call or may be an API from backend? I am creating an XML dynamically and I want to attach it to its Data Definition programmatically using SQL.
Please let me know if there is any oracle functionality to do this.
If not, please let me know the standard directories on application/database server where the XML files attached to Data Definitions are stored.
For eg, /$APPL_TOP/ar/1.0/sql or something.
Regards,
Swapnil K.

• How to create a vertical report

I am new to Application Express. I am trying to create some basic financial reports using it (e.g. Income Statement, Balance Sheet). Typically, these reports are organized vertically where each quarter's financial data is displayed as a separate column. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to create these types of reports using Application Express?
I did play with the "vertical report, look 1" report template. When I used this each record was oriented vertically instead of the default horizontal orientation, but the records appeared in individual tables instead of one large table with multiple columns.
Here is an example of the type of report I am trying to create: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=ORCL
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jim,
You can do this if you create a custom Row Template. I don't have your tables, so the following is based on:
SELECT ENAME, SAL, COMM FROM EMP ORDER BY 11 - Go to Shared Components, Templates
2 - Click Create
3 - Select Report
4 - Select From Scratch
5 - Enter a name for the template, select any template class (eg, Custom 1) and select "Named Column (row template)"
6 - Click Create
Now edit the template and use the following settings:
Row Template 1
<td align="right" style="width:200px;">#1#<br>#2#<br>#3#<br></td>Before Rows
<table>
<tr>
<td align="right">Name<br>Salary<br>Commission</td>After Rows
</tr>
</table>The pagination settings can be copied from a report template of your choice
Attach the new template to your report and run the page. The Before Rows html will be rendered first, then for each "row" in the report a new TD cell is created with all the data for that "row" (note that #1#, #2# and #3# refers to columns 1, 2 and 3 - so, in this example, that's ENAME, SAL and COMM respectively) and, after the maximum number of rows per the report settings has been reached, the After Rows html is added, thereby completing the row.
Obviously, you'll have to add in your own styling and change the above to suit your specific needs, but that should give you a starting point.

• How to create a fixed-width column within an APEX 4 interactive report?

This thread is a follow-up to {message:id=9191195}. Thanks fac586.
Partial success: The following code provided by fac586 limits the column width of the Apex 4 interactive report column as long as the column data contains whitespace within a Firefox 3.6 browser:

Notes:
1. The code above is put into the HTML header section for the page.
2. T_DESCRIPTION is defined as VARCHAR2(2000).
3. The code above works within the Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work within the Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 browser.
I tried adding "float: left;":

Notes:
1. "float: left;" does not require whitespace and successfully splits the column between characters in lieu of whitespace.
2. "float: left;" shrinks the cell height and allows the page background to show through... couldn't determine how to fix this.
3. The code above works within the Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work within the Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 browser.
I've done some more research, but I still haven't discovered how to create a fixed-width column within an APEX 4 interactive report that displays properly within an Internet Explorer 7 browser.
Any ideas and help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your help with this!

what theme are you using?

A customized version of theme 15.

You are correct. I was just trying a different approach ... trying to think out of the box.

Think you'll need to create an example on apex.oracle.com with sample data
if there are any further problems.

Great suggestion! The code your provided works in the Firefox 3.6.12 browser, but still doesn't work within my Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 browser.
UPDATE:
I have recreated the problem at apex.oracle.com, you can use the following information to check it out:

Password: Thx4help
Application: 43543 - CM_RANDY_SD
Note: Table name is TEST_DATA
The following code provided by fac586 works in both Firefox 3.6 and IE7 using default theme "21. Scarlet" at apex.oracle.com; however, it doesn't work when I use a copy of our customized theme "101. Light Blue":

Any idea what in the theme could be causing the fixed width column to be ignored in IE 7?
