How to create service for new database

i am working on 8i.i want to create new database instead of existing for which first service have to create.i had created parameter file and perform changes,now with oradim i am trying to create service but it is giving incorrect version bcaz i have win2000 and oradim works with winnt only.

PS: Adding the 5 lines to tnsnames.ora does not create a network service, first you have to set the "service_names" init parameter and the listener will create the service when the database starts (simplified explanation).

I'm afraid you'll have to learn a bit more about PHP...
Joined tables is a relational database feature. It has nothing to do with PHP, and PHP has nothing to do with Flex...
The "magic" of the flex framework is that it can plug itself into any backend (.Net, Java, PHP...)
The new way Flash Builder interacts with PHP is through AMF (Actionscript Messaging Format) with the help of Zend and Zend_Amf. You've been able to do it on your own for a while, but it was a bit tricky to set up... The new IDE helps you doing those mapping with wizards. What it does is that it serializes and deserializes objects from PHP to Actionscript, and also generates Actionscript value objects.
So what you'll have to do is to write your own PHP services to retrieve your data from joined tables in MySQL. Those services will return simple arrays. Then start the wizard, select your services. Flash Builder will then map the objects contained in the PHP arrays into Actionscript typed objects.
I suggest you have a deep look into Zend_Tables...

I created new domain according to the steps given under creating new domain in
documentation of 6.1, Can any one help me how to get console activated for this
new domain .At present it is not able to get the console for this domain even
though in log files it shows console.war is deployed.

Please follow the exact steps given in the following document to create a new
Domain:

Also, if you have done so, please check if a directory called .wlstaging is created
in the new domain directory that is created. This directory has the console.war
file.
This is automatically created by the WLS when creating a new domain.

Q.my scenario is like SOAP to proxy. while using receiver proxy also we are planing using AAE method.
SOAP to Poxy in this case.
For sender SOAP system, we can generate the WSDL link in ID part.
for Reveiver proxy give the integration engine URL.

There is no transaction code for generating the URL.

Sorry to say there is no way to create an approval template on master data (BP, item, etc). However, we once had a similar problem and used the Alert Management to catch critical information that was missing during the creation process. Everyone had to enter a credit limit with no exceptions. I do not have the exact SQL in front of me, but it went something like this...

Then we set an Alert Message to go off every minute and sent it to the Accounting Department. Although it did not STOP them from adding the Business Partner, it sure did give someone the heads up to call the person who created it after looking at the Change Log. Sort of a compromise...maybe that helps you???

From the Set KPI page you can only select already existing metrics from the underlying PAS model that has been associated with the context you selected.
To create metrics in the PAS model there are several options ( ranking according to my personal preferences ):
1-Use the BICA page, http://<server>:<port>/strategy/bi, options Create Scorecard Metrics and Define Virtual Measures.
Your PAS model needs to have the suffix PBI for you to be able to use it in BICA. I usually copy the PAS model file in the Home folder, give it a name ending in PBI and then in PAS issue the command SUP ADD DAT newmodelPBI. Then change your model connection to point to this new model and restart JPIP.
2-Use Cubebuilder, http://<server>:<port>/strategy/cubebuilder. Great option if you are creating a new model from scratch. Also perfect for creating new dimensions, which you can reuse across different PAS models by copying them in PAS (use drag & drop). If you want to add a new metric to an already existing model you cannot do it directly with cubebuilder, although you can export the metric and import to the new model. (See PAS Help for SNAPSHOT and DUMP instructions).
3-Create metrics Manually in PAS. You can directly use commands in PAS to create metrics and define/change their properties (see PAS Help for the CREATE MEASURE command).
When integrating with other systems there is the possibility to import metrics and create KPIs in easy to use interfaces. You have this for Risk Management, BW and BPC.

Creating the Windows Service for the Database Instance

Hello, I am using the PeopleTools 8.52 Installation for Oracle documentation and was in Task 6A-2: Creating the Windows Service for the Database Instance.
After I type in
oradim -new -sid ORCL -intpwd manager -startmode auto -pfile C:\Oracle\database\initORCL.ora
I had encountered these errors:
OPW-00005: File with same name exists - please delete or rename
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1073) The specified service already exists.

After I typed oradim -delete -sid ORCL, it shows this:
Unable to stop service, OS Error = 1062
Instance deleted.
Then, I:
Set ORACLE_SID=ORCL
oradim -new -sid ORCL -intpwd manager -startmode auto -pfile C:\Oracle\database\initORCL.ora
Then, it shows:
OPW-00005: Files with same name exists - please delete or rename
Instance created.
Does it mean no error already and I can proceed?

Whenever you start a program in which selection screens are defined, the system displays a set of input fields for database-specific and program-specific selections. To select a certain set of data, you enter an appropriate range of values.
For further information about selection screens, refer to Selection Screens in the ABAP User's Guide.
If you often run the same program with the same set of selections (for example, to create a monthly statistical report), you can save the values in a selection set called a variant
Procedure
To create a new variant:
       1.      On the ABAP Editor initial screen, enter the name of the program for which you want to create a variant, select Variants, and choose Change.
       2.      On the variant maintenance initial screen, enter the name of the variant to be created.
Note the naming convention for variants (see below).
       3.      Choose Create.
If the program has more than one selection screen, a dialog box for screen assignment appears. The dialog box does not appear if the program only has one selection screen. The selection screen appears in this case.
       4.      If there is more than one selection screen, select the screens for which you want to create the variant
5.      Choose Continue.
The (first) selection screen for the report appears.
If your program has more than one selection screen, use the scroll buttons in the left-hand corner of the application toolbar to navigate between them and to fill the fields with values. If you keep scrolling forwards, the Continue button appears on the last selection screen.
       6.      Enter the desired selection values, including multiple selection and dynamic selection.
       7.      Choose Continue.

Windows could not start DBConsole for new database instance

I am getting this error "Windows could not start the OracleDBConsoleOracleInstance2 on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the system vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1".
I installed Oracle 11g on Windows 7 and created my 1st database instance (oracleInstance1) successfully with a listener and service configured. I could access this database using DBconsole URL: https://hostname:1158/em.
I see the services started for:
OracleDBConsoleOracleInstance1
OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener
OracleServiceOracleInstance1
Next, I created a second database instance (oracleInstance2) and have configured a new service for this database. I am using the same listener as I intend to use one database instance at any point of time.
However, I got this warning message during configuration:
"Enterprise manager configuration succeeded with the following warning - Error starting Database Control. Please execute the following command(s).
1. Set the environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME to Database unique name.
2. C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emctl.bat start dbconsole"
To start the new database console, I stopped the previously running DBConsole, OracleDBConsoleOracle1 and started the new DBConsole OracleDBConsoleOracle2 and get the above error.
When I try to start dbconsole manually using "emctl dbconsole start", it starts OracleDBConsoleOracle1 instead.
I changed environment variables ORACLE_SID=oracle2 and ORACLE_UNQNAME=oracle2
What am I missing here. Please help!

From a command prompt, enter the following:
set ORACLE_SID=oracle2

Doesn't' matter if you use one instance or 100. The listener was DESIGNED to service multiple instances of multiple versions running from multiple homes. It is nothing but a connection broker. A telephone switchboard, if you will. All you need is a single listener, with the default name of LISTENER, running on the default port of 1521. It will handle all the database instances you care to throw at it. More instances than anyone in their right mind would ever put on a single server. Your server will run out of capacity to host additional instances before the listener runs out of capacity to service them. Especially since your 'server' is really just a toy in the Oracle world.

I don't think its possible to create fieldcatalog for different tables,
but if you want to do so create a dummy table which has all the fields which you want in fieldcatalog.
populate the data from different table to that dummy table
then create fieldcatalog for that table and pass it in the function module...

The Service and Response Profiles can be created in the easy access menu using the path
SAP Menu> Service> Service Contracts and Service Plans--> Maintain availability and Response Time
Availability time is also know as service profile
And then assign these service and response profiles to your Servie Product Master which will be used in the service ticket.
For the field to be available to enter teh service and response profile in the product master, assign the set types COMM_PR_SRV to the category in which the product will be created
