Hi,
Yahoo is already single sign on. You just login in home page and you can access your briefcase, photos, etc...
you don't require to do anything special.

if yout projects are deployed in their own Java EE context root then you have multiple applications, though logically you count them as one. Use OSSO or Oracle SSO (where OSSO should be fine since all deployments share the same instance)

If i understand your question right, you want one table (SID) to be shared between two info objects. It is possible if one info object uses the other info object as its reference.
Create a reference info object.

I have implemented Single Sign-On for some of my jsp pages in different folders like finance, inventory, etc,. Am creating some test users and groups in OID. but the users in inventory group are able to login to finance module. can u please give me some suggestions on how to restrict this ? where to do the configurations ?

if it is a J2EE application, use J2EE roles - defined in web.xml - and map it to groups in OID through the orion-application.xml file. See the OC4J security guide which is a part of Oracle Application Server documentation on OTN

First of all I have given a first reading to log4j and I think there will some more easy way of logging debugging messages than log4j (If you could provide me a detailed explanation of a servlet,jsp,java bean that uses log4j and how to use log4j then it will be very helpful for me). I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...

How to create an External Alias for a Portal URL ?

Can anybody tell me how to create an external alias for a portal link(URL). Actually, my problem is i want to send this Portal URL(link) thru' a SendMail step to the user so that when he clicks on it, it will take him to his UWL(Ofcourse after signing-in). As this URL length is > 80 char(101 char), i am not getting the full lenght URL in my Outlook mail. THough we are on ECC 6.0,Basis Rel 7.0, as per the OSS note 559234, we should have this length extended to 132 bytes. But, for some reason, its not happening. And,in the same OSS note, it was mentioned that we can use external aliases to achieve this(shortening the URL length).
Can anybody tell me how to achieve this, either thru' increasing the URL length or thru' ext. aliases.
Please reply asap.

We want to implement single sign on for our application.
We want to deploy 2 applications(JSF/ADF) on web logic server say
webapp1 and webapp2.
If user already logged into webapp1 with valid userid and password and
then he access the link for webapp2 he should not be asked to provide
the credential details userid and password.
How we can implement this
1. If user credentials are maintained/authenticated against LDAP
2. If user maintained/authenticated are from database

This defeats the purpose of trying to centralize SAP-related web resources on the SAP server. Typically IIS/Apache or other non-SAP servers are under the control of IT and not the SAP BASIS group.
We simply would like to have a centralized location to store static web files so that they are not overwritten during Portal support pack applications.

Can any body help for how to create a credit memo for an existing sales order !

It is actually possible to create credit memos from sales orders though it is not followed in most of the scenarios.
We have got a scenario in commodity trading that a sales order will be created with positive value. Once the swaps are settled by the portfolio mngt team, if we have to give some money to the payer, then a credit memo will be greated (as in their case all invoices will have only +ve value as net value) with reference to the sales order. In the copy control, the main field to be taken care of at itme level is the PRICING TYPE for which a value of F has to be maintained. This will convert the sign of the values and fix them. Now a credit memo will be created for teh saels order.
In this case, the document cateogyr of sales order will be C in VBAK, but it will be K in VBFA table which is the table for document flow.
