How to create snow falling animation?

Hello !
I am a new to use motion 5 and final cut pro x , and i have filmed a scene arround my house i would like to add a layer of falling snow using motion 5 can you please give a little help ?

In addition to the snow flake technique in the link, here are some techniqes I've used when creating snow.
-Make sure to vary the scale of the particle cells, this will help simulate depth for the scene.
-if you need something basic, just use a circle shape.
-Apply the Random Motion behavior to the particle cell, to simulate drag.
-To really create some nice depth, Create 3, 2D emitters and make sure to vary them a bit with lower birth rates, you don't want to much snow. Put them in a 3D group and add a camera. Then seperate them out to create a forground, mid ground and background set of areas. Enable Depth of Field and adjust the settings so front and back are slightly out of focus, but the mid ground is in focus. This method is a little more processor intensive, but yeilds really nice results. Again, just don't use too many particle cells.
IMHO, snow is a really fun thing to play around with. You can make it as realistic or styalized as you want, you can can make it feel light and airy, or like a heavy blizzard. Have fun trying the different settings but I'd recomend the following every time:
-Randomize the scale of the cells in the emitter.
-Make sure you have a long enough life so the flakes don't disapear half way through your animation.
-Randomize the birth rate.
-Randomize the speed a little bit.

Is your monitor well calibrated?
Did you print it locally on your own printer before sending it out?
After you've exhausted everything else, you might consider creating a small test file with the offending gradient, and physically carry it to one of the printing locations, and speak to a technician there. Honestly, it sounds like a profile mismatch, but if this has happened at multiple Kinkos locations, then I agree, it would seem the problem is most likely in the file.
Have you looked at individual channels? (R,G,B)
One other idea: you say it's olive to black ... you could try an olive gradient from 100% opacity to 0% opacity, placed over a solid black layer, (or alteratively, a similar black gradient over solid olive) and see if that improves the output. Beware, some printers are really bad at 0%-5% values. If the gradient is going from 100% of one color to 0%, this might be contributing to the problem. Try going from 100% to 5% if this is the case.
One last thing: can you post a portion of the offending area of the image here?

How to create vector growth animations

Hi,
How do I create those animated vector graphics effects make popular in MTV promos, in which a graphic simulates growth with patterns reveals itself in different stages. Something similar to animated hand writing.
I know it has something to do with animated mask, but I have tried, it is quite difficult to manage the mask to reveal different portion as intended.
Is there an easier way that I do not know of?

Thanks for the info, and yes your project is exactly what I am looking for, however, I am still on Motion 2, your project is done on Motion 3.
I think this effect can be done on motion 2 or do I need motion 3 to execute this effect? Is it possible to export a version to motion 2?

How to create particular loop

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to create my particular animation into a loop? The two main problems:
- How to make the first and last frames "match", so the animation looks fluently.
- At the moment it fades in and that is not allowed (since I need to export the movie as a loop).

How to make snow stay after falling to the ground

I'd like to make an animation on which one can simply see snow falling down. I know this is easy to do with the CC Snow Effect. But what I didn't find an answer to is: I want to make the snow stay on the ground so that in the end the ground is covered by snow. Any idea or tips how to do this?

The JPEG format does not support animation, so if you want to add a moving arrow to a map, you'd need to make an animated GIF or a Flash movie.
If your map is a large image, then adding the frames to make an animated GIF could make very big file and that wouldn't be good. Another thing to keep in mind is that a JPEG image can have millions of colors but an animated GIF can only have 256. If your map is a line art (a drawing), then usually the GIF or PNG formats give you a better result, anyway as the JPEG format introduces noise and color shifts which are normally not noticed on photographs.

In your case, you would share your map across the frames and each new frame would have a different arrow on it.

Adobe Premier Pro CC - How to create animation bar & text shown 0:31 sec into attached link .. PLEASE HELP!

Hello,
I'm new to Premier Pro CC but I have managed to figured out the basics.
The only thing I need to know now is how to create or if it is possible to create the bar that appears 0:31 seconds
into the video, from the bottom of the screen with the text that fades in & out.

Can be done either way ( and others as well)
From Photo Shop one would produce the Layer so one could have individual Control of the components. eg Opacity of the black rectangle and fades on the text.
Same could be done with multiple titles created in PPPRO.
Similar layers technique in After Effects composition then brought back into PPRO
AEFX would be the most powerful for any composting and animation sophistication and control.

How to create shortcut to turn on/off Wifi in Snow Leopard

I want to use the F5 key on my MBP to turn on Wifi with a single hit on the keyboard and turn it off again with a single hit using F6. Is this possible? I've tried to do it under Preferences/Keyboard/Keyboard Shortcuts but I can't add F5 (not by typing and not by hitting that button). That button seems to be dedicated for the illumination of the keyboard. How can I change these settings so that I can have my fast function key at my disposal.

Since nobody has posted a solution, here's one way to do it, expanding upon WZZZ's answer above should actually be:
networksetup -setairportpower en1 off
networksetup -setairportpower en1 on
where en1 is the Interface Name of your Wi-Fi device. It was en1 on my laptop, but you can check and be sure using:
networksetup -listnetworkserviceorder
Also, you can toggle it if you grep the current state using -getairportpower first. Here's the full command to toggle Wi-Fi state on and off (the whole thing is one long line):
networksetup -getairportpower en1 | grep "On" && networksetup -setairportpower en1 off || networksetup -setairportpower en1 on
But typing it every time into Terminal is no good, so here's how you create a keyboard shortcut that runs a shell command:
1. Start Automator, and create a new Service.
2. Set "Service receives selected: to "no input" in "any application".
3. Add an action named "Run Shell Script". It's in the Utilities section of the Actions Library.
4. Insert the bash command you want into the text box and test run it using the Run button (top right). It should do whatever the script does (off, on or toggle), and there should be green ticks below the Action.
5. Save it, giving it a service name you can remember.
6. Go to System Preferences -> Keyboard, and go to the Shortcuts tab
7. Go to the Services section, and scroll down to General - you should find your service there. If you select the line, you can click "add shortcut" and give it a keyboard shortcut.
The shortcut key will now trigger whatever command you set up earlier, no matter what app you're in, but shortcuts from the app take priority (so if your hotkey clashes with a hotkey in the app you're currently running, the app's hotkey will trigger).
Also, I don't think you can use any of the function keys. I don't know why, but I've never had those ever work, even with the Fn key. Command Shift A or something like that works fine.
