  • How to create Source Systems in BI or RFC ??

    Hi Gurus,
I want to load data from an R/3 connection to BI.
Now i have modified my Datasources in R/3 side.
Question is how i connect R/3 to BI ?
I will have to create RFC Connection , Yes ?
I did following steps , so far, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO ???
1 To call the RFC we have to create destination.
Means Source system and Target system.
Source System: From where we are calling the RFC i.e. Source system. = R/3
Target System: To where it is calling i.e. Target system. = BI
    2. In Source System, create DESTINATION
Goto SM59 to Create a RFC Destination.
    3. In SM59 First screen you will get list of RFC Destions
Select R/3 Connections and Click on list(+)symbol it will gives already created Destions, Select R/3 Connections click on Create buttion, it will takes you into another screen to create Destionation.
    Name, Password, Logon details.
once it is saved you can test it. Click on Test Connection Button
if it is executed successfully your destinatio is established
NOW WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO IN BI SIDE ????
    i went to RSA1 -> source systems
Here i dont see my R/3 in source systems...
please give me step by step instructions.

  • PI 7.11 - How to create a System Error in SXMB_MONI using a Java Mapping

    Hi
We ve go a  Java Mapping in a File-to-HTTP Scenario. It works perfect except of one error case: if an empty source file or a source file with the wrong structure is delivered. In this case our Java Mapping forwards an empty payload to the HTTP channel. So, for PI is the mapping successful.
I'd like to recognize this case and invoke a system error in the SXMB_MONI, so that this mapping will be stopped and our alerting concept informs the users. I know, how to recognize the case in Java but need to know how to create the System Error Status in the PI System.
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Please refer here for the mapping API description:
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/pi/com/sap/aii/mapping/api/package-summary.html
You can use the StreamTransformationException exception describet there to raise an error from your Java mapping. Direct link:
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/pi/com/sap/aii/mapping/api/StreamTransformationException.html
You might also consider using the "Empty-File Handling" option in sender file CC to avoid processing empty files by PI.
    Hope this helps,
    Greg

  • How to change source system in SAP BI

    Hi,
In Sap BI we are having a source system ECC1CLIENT100, based on this we developed all the data modelling, now due to some reasons we made a copy of the souce system ECC1CLIENT100 to ECC2CLIENT100 and we removed ECC1CLIENT100 from SAP BI connections, Now what changes we have to do to connect the ECC2CLIENT100 to BI in the place of ECC1CLIENT100, please give me step to step what to do for sucessfull operations, Both the clients are having different IP, SYSTEM ID,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Bazi,
-->you need to maintain RFC to the new source system
    -->delete old source system
-->create source system connection from RSA1
--> Run BDLS to point the data sources to new source system. This should be run on both BW and ECC.
You will need to run this BDLS several times

    Hi,
    1.     You have made the following settings in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide (transaction SPRO) under SAP NetWeaver ® SAP Business Information Warehouse  ® Links to Other Systems:
    ¡        General Connection Settings
¡        Links Between SAP Systems and BW
    ¡        Verify Workflow Customizing
           2.      You have made the following settings in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide of the source system under the node SAP NetWeaver  ® SAP Web Application Server  ® IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) ® Basic Settings:
    u2022         Logical Systems
    -         Define Logical System
    -         Assign Logical System to Client
u2022         Make basic settings for workflow (Perform Automatic Workflow Customizing)
The name you used for the source system (logical system) has to be used again when creating the source system in the SAP BW Administrator Workbench.
           3.      You have taken the server name from the source system under Tools ® Administration ® Monitor ® System Monitoring ® Server. It is displayed as follows:
    Server_
    pswdf090_IDF_90
           4.      As a rule, system changes are not ever permitted in productive systems. However, connecting a system (as a source system) to an SAP BW, or connecting an SAP BW to a new source system, will require changes to the system change options. Therefore you have made sure that the following changes are allowed in the relevant clients for the system, when connecting to the source system:
u2022         Cross-client Customizing and repository changes
In the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide under SAP NetWeaver  ® SAP Business Information Warehouse  ® Links to Other Systems  ® General Connection Settings ® Assign Logical System to Client, select the relevant clients under Goto ® Details. In the Cross-Client Object Changes field, choose the Changes to Repository and Cross-Client Customizing Allowed option.
In the source system, make the following settings in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide under SAP NetWeaver  ® SAP  Web Application Server  ® IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) ® Basic Settings ® Cross-Application Components ® Distribution (ALE) ® Basic Settings ® Logical Systems ® Assign Logical System to Client.
u2022         Changes to the local developments and Business Information Warehouse software components
You use transaction SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools) to set the change options. Choose Transport Organizer Tools ® Administration ® Set System Change Option, then Execute. Make the following settings in the next screen.
u2022         Changes to the customer name range.
Again, you use transaction SE03 to set the change option for the customer name range.
u2022         Changes to BW namespaces /BIC/ and /BI0/
Again, you use transaction SE03 to set the change option for the BW namespaces.

  • How to Create Myself System?

    Hi,
We are using BW 3.5 system and have an infosource that loads its data from itself. So we need to establish Myself Source System.
But in rsa1 trx, our source system is set as a Datamart, which is supposed to be "Myself System".
How do we change our source system from datamart to myself system? Or is there any way to create new myself system?
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards,
    Chintan

    hi CS,
A BW system can be used as a source system to supply data to the same system or to another BW system.
When it is used as a source system to supply data to itself it is known as myself source system. All the data sources are available in datamart application component.
MYSELF is a special source system and you do not have to create it. Choosing a BW type source system (Create Source system option) will allow you to connect another BW system as source.
When you create datasource based on current source system (for example XML datasource or export datasource) it automatically mentions MYSELF source system.
The name of myself source system is the logical system name that your client has been assigned (in SCC4).
    for more details, search SDN

    Hi ,
In SCC4 the source client should not set as production when creating the source system connection between two systems. Please check below SAP note

  • Creating source system in BW3.5

    Hi all,
I create a source system connection using automatic method and fill up all entry in create source system window in next screen  i give user name and password then these errors are shows
<b>Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'</b>.
when i am going in help of that error it shows this information  In this logon client any changes to repository and to crossclient customizing objects are prohibited
can anybody tell me why these errors are occur.
    thx.

    Hi Ankit,
As you posted yourself this message is appearing because your system is locked for any kind of editing. You need to open it to create this source system. This is generally done by a BASIS consultant.
You can go to SCC4 as mentioned above by Pankaj and open the client to create this.
    Regards,
    Sumit

  • Error while creating source system entry in SAP BW system

    Hi,
I am creating source system entry in SAP BW system for ECC system. In T-Code RSA1 i entered all the details of source system and BW system like RFC destination of source system and RFC user passowrd.
After clicking on enter system is promting me to enter into the souce system using administrator user.but i don't have admin user with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles because in my organisation they don't assign these profiles to any user.
So can you please update me what are the authorization required for dialog user in source system.
    Regards,
    Gaurav

I would recommend to create a USER ID as COMMUNICATION type and assign SAP_ALL for it... this way, it can never be misused..
This will ensure that the user ID will have correct authorization in the source system and will not face any authorization related errors later on

  • Create Source System - Error

    Hi Gurus,
    I have to create a conexion with R3 so i did :
    1)Create RFC Conexion in SM59
    2)Create Source System in RSA1
But in the last step of the creation Source System in RSA1 shows up the following Error Message:
    "The source system already exists"
So i checked in the source system list, and it does not exists.
Can anyone help me about this?
    THANKS A LOT !!!

Hmm.. not very good over here.. but can you dubleclick and see if they are leading to different clients or not?
I think they are 2 different clients of the R3's .. so this should be posible..
Did you created a new logical system and new RFC destinations for this new one?
May be that it is pointing out to the existing destination..
    regards,
    Hari

  • How to Create a system in portal server

I am trying to do the tutorial: How to Create a JDBC-based iView for Add/Update/Delete Record.
Its pre-requisite is: A system – with an alias “JDBC” – defined on your portal server, and mapped to a database.
Since I am new to VC, I do not know how to create a system, and I also do not know how to access the portal server.
    Please help...

    Hi Makarand,
Do you have any one who has the access to portal with administrator rights. I am hereby sending you the steps on how to create a system.
    To define a system:
    1. Create a new system; define all its properties
    2. Create a default system alias.
    3. Create a user mapping (from the user you use in VC) to the system alias, using the user\password to the backend system.
    4. TEST the connection in the portal. If the test succeeds, it should be visible in VC discovery panel.
VC retrieves the systems via the portal.
You have to define the systems or use the defined systems in the portal you are connected.
To define systems in the portal:
System Administration => system configuration => system landscape:
in the PCD: right click on a folder and Add new system.
Then you have to define all the mandatory properties: Connector / Was / User management ...
don’t forget to map your portal user with an R3/JDBC user...
    thank you very much.
