How to create Speech Commands in Aperture?

I'm having trouble figuring this out, so hopefully someone out there has an answer . . .
I'm trying to add speech commands to use in Aperture. I'm using the program and mousing (and tableting) so much that my wrists are starting to complain. I would like to start some of my most frequent tasks by using Speech Commands and Speech Recognitions.
So, to start, if someone can explain to me how to . . .
• create a command to white balance a photo (click eye dropper)
• create a command to go to Monochrome Mixer
That would be a great start, and should start me on the road to less mousing!

This is a pretty old thread (I know I came across this while searching for something similar recently), but I figured I'd throw this out there in case other people might find this useful. As I write this, JavaFX's latest version is 1.3... which may have added the needed functionality since the last post.
You can now create a multi-line text area using a TextBox and by specifying the nubmer of lines and setting the "multiline" value to true. It may not offer all of the same functionality as JTextArea, but it did the job for what I needed... newlines by pressing enter, scrollbar if text surpasses height, etc.
Here's a simple example:

How to create interactive overlays in Aperture?

Is there any plugin or method in Apeture that allows overlays or annotations to be created on existing images?
For example, flickr allows a box to be drawn selectively on any parts of an image to add notes and data etc.. iPhoto does this to an extent using "Add a face" by it's only supposed to be used as tagging people.
The difference with this method versus using Preview or Photoshop is that the annotations are not permanently "burned" into each photo, with the overlays showing during mouse-over.

Does anyone know how to create a watermark using aperture 2.1.1? I know how to select it when exporting the picture, but I don't know how to create an actual watermark. thanks.

How to add new folder in Aperture thats been created on hard drive?

This is probably a simple answer, but here it goes.
I manage all my photos in directories such as this:
2007
01 - January
02 - February
03 - March
etc..... however I just added the 2007 foler and all its subfolders to my drive tonight, however I can't sem to figure out how to easily add it to Aperture in order to read from those folders?

also, you can decide to ignore the import panel entirely, and import the folders by dragging and dropping them in your project list. if you drag multiple folders at once, they will be imported as multiple projects.
holding the Command and Option keys while doing this will result in a "referenced files" import. By default (without modifiers) the images get "managed" (i.e. copied into database).
my structure on HD is similar to yours. What I do in AP is that I create a blue folder first, name it 2007, and then drag folders from the mac os finder on that blue folder.
experiment with this and you'll find that it is much faster, gives more flexibility, and involves less repetitive actions than using the import folder.
one last thing: this action sees AP generating an error message, but the image that is said "not imported" still is, and all should function properly...

I'd like to establish my own speech commands, but not sure how to do that. There is a command called "make this speakable", but I don't know how to apply it.

Where are the instructions for this, and who here is good at doing it? (I'm assuming 'your own commands' means a command you associate with an 'event', so there are likely some limitations.)

Also, you never know what bumps will happen during the night. Even when I used my computer to receive phone calls & video chats from Europe, I had it automatically shutdown when I wanted to sleep; then automatically startup and check my mail before I left the house.

Running 'anacron' checks whether your daily, weekly, & monthly housekeeping has been done; then it does it if not. So, your computer need not be on during wee hours. Also, MacOSX (unlike OS/2) appears to do 'housekeeping' (IBM) or 'garbage collection' (Unix) of memory; but I still like to restart my computer after many modifications of icons, folder, & files.
In short, it's good to shutdown your computer at night. This, of course, has nothing to do with your question. Sorry.

What you have done is perfectly right. The password file doesn't have anything else apart from the password
for example in your case
$echo password > /tmp/password.txt
However I remember that in windows install, the Application server used to wait for a user's input when a deploy was to be done for the first time. So Can you read the Release notes or the Readme file which has come with windows.
The solution was,
manually use asadmin command of application server to deploy some war (any webapp will do), at this time, a question will be prompted to accept a certificate. once this is done, deploy portlet should work fine!!!

You can add more images to your book, by dragging them from the browser to your book album. Switch to the Library Inspector, select the album or project with the images in the source list, and then drag these images onto the book icon. That will add them to the book album, and then double click the book album again to continue working with the book.

I would like to know how to create an alias (for a file, not a command) from the command line. I don't want to use the ln command, as an alias has more interesting features than soft/hard links... Is there an Apple specific tool to do this?

The only straightforward way that I am aware of for creating a "Finder" alias from the command line is using AppleScript via 'osascript'. Of course, it's not really a command line solution since the "Finder" has to be running. Anyway, something along the lines of:

If you aren't able to figure out how to call a C++ DLL in .net then there may be another option. Unfortunately I don't know how to do this off the top of my head and I don't have an example.

How to creat pdf documents with printing restrictions in Aperture

Hi,
I wondered if it is possible to create a pdf document made up of 9-12 image per page contact sheets, to send to clients that restricts the client to open and view only i.e no printing allowed.
Photoshop allows this, however i would like to create /correct versions in aperture and then create a pdf [with the above printing restrictions applied, simply to save time.
the way i work in photoshop is to export approx a 500 to 1000 jpegs [ per client] in aperture to a folder which I then open with Bridge- create the contact sheets and then create the pdf document with printing restrictions applied.
is there any way for me to make this simpler, especially just using Aperture?

I tried it but Had a problem when trying to type in my Password... It would not let me type anything....So I canceled the proceedure. This needs to be run as admin.
Can anybody tell me how to create script that will login as admin and run that command in terminal?
