How to create Static Record group in Oracle Forms??

Dear All,
I have the following values V1,V2 to be placed in my list item field during DML operations.
I have an example to create the record group based on the table; whereas i have never tried for static value creation.
Could you please guide me how can i acheive this.?

Actually what happens is; when i use the same methodology as you mentioned, it is asking me to set the Initial value.
Whereas in my applications; user has to manually select any of the values i.e eithe V1 or V2 for the first time.
Moreover i have found the query:-
I have created a static record group RG_VERSIONS i.e creating a new record group with the static values mentioning the "Column names " as "Version_label" which i have given the column values as "V1" and "V2" and then another column name as "Version_value" with the column values as "V1" and "V2".
Then i used the below query in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger:-
PROCEDURE p_when_new_form_instance
IS
l_rg_id recordgroup;
l_item_id item;
BEGIN
--Populating value for Version Type based on static record group
l_rg_id := FIND_GROUP ('RG_VERSION');

there exist a Java Bean in teh Forms 6i demos that shows a static HTMl example. Note that the HTML that could be shown is somewhat basic, but it will give you an impression how it can work. The demos are at otn.oracle.com/products/forms --> samples --> 6i demos

How to enable Multi-record select in Oracle Forms

we recently upgraded to R12 -- 12.1.3.
we have a requirement in which I should let the users select multiple records in a tabular Form (custom form).
Currently we have a custom form that displays Open sales orders with credit holds. After selecting the record, the user can release the hold on the order by clicking on a button. The requirement is for enabling selection of multiple records and release.
We have a similary functionality in 'Quick Sales Orders' form. In this form, multiple lines can be selected by pressing 'CTL' and clicking on the records.
I read about using APP_MULTI for this. But I couldnt figure out how to enable the multiple selection.
If someone could throw some light on this, it would be greatly helpful

How to create dynamic 'rack drawings' with Oracle forms

Hallo, I work for a telecom company.
We have used Oracle Forms and Reports from the beginning and we are now on version 10.2 but upgrading til 11.2.
I got a request to make 'dynamic rack drawings' to display what equipment are located in what racks.
The suggestion is to calculate coordinates(position, height) and send it to our GIS-system to do the dynamic drawing bit.
The 'drawing' is just simple boxes with various height with a name in it to mark different types of equipment.
So my question is... How should we draw these boxes dynamically to display our racks including the equipment installed there?
Something like this With a header and a footer.

I wouldn't do the drawing part in Forms. Luckily there are Java Beans available in Webforms which you could use to visualize your data in a more complex way.

You cant clear any record.

How to create a record based on the name of a file in the file-system?

Hi,
With a lot of pictures I want to have a database to gather some information about these pictures.
First question is how to generate a record based on a file in the file system?
e.g. the pictures are "c:\fotos\2009\01\disc_001.jpg" to "c:\foto\2009\01\dis_98.jpg" .
now i want to create records with as one of the attributes the name of the picture (not the picture itself). how to create these records (based on the information of the file-ssytem). i.e. the number of records should be the same as the number of pictures.
any suggestions?

Dynamically creating a Record Group based on Previously entered Record Grou

Hi,
I know how to dynamically create a record group based on a query and putting the code in When new form instance.
My query is. I have a form which has multiple Record Groups and the user wants to dynamically create subsequent groups based on previous groups.
For example
I have a record group with selects a Location,
when the user selects the Location from a list of values
the 2nd record group called 'Cost Centres' will have to filter out only those with the locations selected above.
How can I populate the 2nd record group at run-time when I do not know what site the user will select?
If I simply populate in when new form instance as in location and just select everything, the list of values populates.
CC field is a LIST ITEM and the list style is a POP LIST, it is not required.
I have put the code in the Location field in the when-list-changed trigger.
I am getting this error:

Hi,
Once record status gets change for block you can not populate/repopulate the list item. Keep those list items as non-database item with different names and create different items as database orignal items. Than assign the values in WHEN-LIST-CHANGE trigger to the actual database items.

Hello, Oracle XE can not create more than one instance, the other editions yes, but like other editions XE allows you to create database schemas, schemas logically grouped objects like tables, views, indexes created by a user. By creating an Oracle user is associated with a schema of the same name.
Using SYS or system accounts for creating user accounts.
Syntax to create a user:

IDENTIFIED BY password

grant connect, resources to your_user;

Error message:FRM-12001: Cannot Create the record group(check your query)

Requirement: Need to get employee name and number in the LOV in search criteria.
So I created LOV "full_name" and Record group Query under Employee Name property palette with

I was unable to save and getting error message "FRM-12001: Cannot Create the record group(check your query)".
I cant use PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F.FULL_NAME since full name here is last_name||title||middle_names||firstname.
But my requiremnet is papf.title||' '||papf.last_name||', '||papf.first_name||' '||papf.middle_names emp_full_name .

Static record group and lov problem

hi all,
1)I created a form module
2)created a basic datablock based on empno and ename from emp table.
3) created a static record group ,where i specified the column name as col1,provided the values as 1 ,2,3,4,5 etc
4) created an LOV and assigned the above record group to the LOV
5) then assigned the lov to the emp.empno item in the datablock emp....
when i run the form .....i get the list of values message on the console (bottom end of the window) ....
but I am not able to see the LOV when i press the cntrl L or see it from the edit menu command ?
what must be the problem ?

May be you don't set LOV's "Column Mapping Properties". After setting the properties correctly you will be able to display LOV.

Form Builder Static Record Group

Hi Folks,
I am a part of a development team where we do parallel development where a team in India is working on certain forms and we work on other forms.
We faced a peculiar problem, both the teams use Oracle Forms 6i, but we lose values in the static record group attached to Static LOV.
Have any one of you faced this problem before, please let me know.

Types of record group, either Static or Query:
Static Specifies that the record group is constructed of explicitly defined column names and column values.

When you select this option, enter the SELECT statement in the multi-line field provided, then choose Apply.
