I'm very much new to Oracle 10g database and after all my search, I think this forum will help me to solve my puzzle. Installed Oracle 10g database and during installation created a Global database "TestDB". I created an user "user1" in sqlplusw, by logging in as system.
Now I need to know, what privileges and permissions should be given to this "user1", so that I can create new users and create database by logging as "user1". I don't want to Inherit all the sytem privileges of SYSTEM or SYSDBA or SYS or SYSOPER.
Is there a way where I could achieve this by explicitly granting the required privileges and permissions

You may need to know all the views to get the privilege information.

I have created user in Weblogic Server Embdeed LDAP (Console-->SecurityRealm)
however how can I assign another user as Manager of this user and some other user as reportee of this user.
Basically how to create Manager and Reportee of a User in Embedded LDAP in Weblogic 10.3.5
ie I have a user A and user B created in Security Realm.
Now I want user A to be as Manager of User B so that when I use getManager() function in Human Task,I get A as Manager of B.

This is actually pretty easy.
1) open the Unwired Workspace (SDK in eclipse).
2) Bottom right, add a new Database connection with the following details:
           Sybase ASA v12.x,
           host=Your Sup box,
           port=5500,
           user=dba
           password= Your password (default = dba)
3) Once you connect successfully, right click on the connection and choose the "Create database" option.
That should do it for you. It is the same connection as the sampleDB connection so if you already have that defined then its a simple, right click on it once connected and hit create database.

Using triggers like this will record who made an update or delete to the database and record the row before it was changed.
Note that this method might not be suitable for very high transaction rates.
You will need to 'clear' these history tables as part of routine maintenance.

How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset

What I would like to achieve:
A program loads a report in runtime updates list of database fields (possibly includes sample data), open report in "Crystal Reports 2011" (or 2008) where user customizes report and saves it. Later on the program loads the report, fills actualized data and displays it in .net report viewer.
What I do:

DataTable is filled from a database
CrReport.SetDataSource(mResults)
CrReport.SaveAs(NewReportPath, True)
The NewReportPath is opened in the default program.
What are the problems
The report is open in preview mode (not in design).
When the field is added to the report the designer asks for XML datasource on preview.

The short answer is that it is not possible. Here is the steps to creat a JNDI lookup using Datasource for MSSQL Server. Follow this and use necessary oracle parameters (in bold) as gives by me in the help link above.

How can use Oracle Developer2000 Form6 to create user in database (oracle 8i) from Trigger of Form6. I've try to use statement "create user ..... identified by ...." in PL/SQL editor of When-Button-Pressed trigger and it had complilation error with that statement.

Probably best not to create the user directly from Forms.
Create a DB Package with a procedure to create a user. This proc should take, e.g. username & password as parameters (& maybe other things - default tablespace, etc.):

If you need to return info. to the Form, use OUT parameters.
Also, consider the security implications of sending the password in an unencrypted form.

Hi Gurprit,
A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:
In wdDoInit() method:
wdContext.currentNodeAElement.setValueA("");
Context is as follows:
RootNode
|____NodeA
        |_____ValueA
