Hi,
It is not possible to create the variables on Key figures directly. But we can create a formula variable with processing type 'User Entry' ,SO that the user entered value can be used in the calculations of the query.

How to create variables for offsets?

Hi BW Experts.
I have a tricky one that has been posted before, but I couldn't get my head around a feasible answer just yet.
My customer wants to be able to display his ageing AR report with different buckets, depending on the month.
For example, if it's January he wants to see buckets for 1-30 days, 31-60 days, 61-90 days and 91 to 120 days.
If it's February, he wants to see buckets for 1-28 days, 29-58 days, 59-88 days and 89-118 days.
If it's March, he wants to see buckets for 1-30 days, 31-58 days, 59-88 days and 89-118 days,
and so on.
We have create a structure in the query, filtering the key figure 0DEB_CRE_LC by 0NETDUEDATE. We have a variable for 0NETDUEDATE as a starting date and use different offsets to get the buckets. However, the offsets need to be hard coded, preventing us the flexibility of choosing the days in the buckets.
Is it possible to create variables for the offsets, so the user can choose the days for the buckets at the report run time?

Hi Aline,
as user is entering 0NETDUEDATE & he needs different buket for different months, which are more or less decided well in advance, I believe it cane be handled by User Exit varaibles which will draw value from the variable value you have entered & go backward.
you will need to write the ABAP code with your logic to drive the correct user exit values.

i have to create badi for virtual key figure in BIW for dat i m creating Badi in BI development but its asking for Access Key.
Badi name is RSR_OLAP_BADI
i want to know while creating classic Badi with Implementation Name do developer need access key or thr any othr way to develop Badi for Virtual Key Figure.
Tell me for creating virtual key figure in biw we use Badi and for dat we have to create the Badi in BIW Dev. or in R/3 Dev.
it first time dat i m creating BAdi.

You you need to be registered as developer (you have to have dev.key) to do the coding.

You can create F4 values for a field in a standard Transaction .
1. First search for a standard search help meeting your requirement .
2. If you don't find one, create your own custom (z) serach help .
( 1 is preferable )
After that, include that serch help to the standard field in the transaction .
For this u need to go to the screen
( F1->F9-> screen-> Field )
Click on the property of the field and include the search help .
You ll require the access key from the basisi guys as u r changing standard .

Hi Azael,
In the How to Papers, you will find a Guide on how to take a Sanpshot view of the Stocks(How To Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW). Basically if you implement the Guide, you will have another cube called ICSNAP1, which will contain stock quantities /values at the end of each month. You will therefore have to take stock at the end of the last month from that cube and add up the relevant receipts and issues to arrive at the current Stock or Stock as on a particular date.

I have a requirement to generate reports in SharePoint based on InfoPath form data which is submitted into form library. Do I need to store each InfoPath form data into SQL Database/MS Access Database. if yes, can any one help me on this how
to save InfoPath form data into DB while submitting into "Form Library". based on the data stored in DB how to create and view the report in SharePoint?.

Thank you for asking the questions for clarification, my requirement is like below
1. Need to insert all infopath form fields data into Access Database when i am submitting to the Form library
2. Create Access Reports like based on time period, based on submitter name, based on state, city, and combination of these etc.
3. Sync Access Database every time i am updating the form
4. View Access Reports in share point site
PS: I worked on this like below approch
1. Written Web Service to Sync Access Database for the Infopath form
2. Create Access Reports
3. Publish using "Publish to Access Services" by providing site URL it will create a subsite there i can able to see reports, tables, macros etc. but that is not an user friendly like i am not able to apply my branding because it is pointing to /_Layouts/accsrv/Modifyapplication.aspx.
could any one suggest me on this.

If you are talking about processes launched from a JVM (running outside), Process is available.

My requirement is we have key figures Supply Elements(SE) like purchase order,production order,planned order etc and Demand Elements(DE) like Deliveries,Sales order etc. All these Key figures are dragged and available in Rows.
Now my clients wants variables on SE and DE.
For SE & DE = Variable type is OPTIONAL and Variable input value =LIST VALUES.
Can any one help me on this.

These are the Keyfigures with Data type QUAN with unit:0BASE_UOM.
Under :
SE - Purchase Req (ZSEOOPR),Purchase Order(ZSEOOPO),Production Order(ZSEOOPRQ) Etc..
DE-Safety Stock(ZDESS),Sales Order(ZDESRSO),Deliveries(ZDESRD) Etc..
In column it has structure which displays the month of Jan-Dec.

I am making a COPA report for Current year comparison with previous year from KE31. For 1st column I have created the Variable for current year (which works perfectly) now in 2nd column i need the actual data pertaining to previous. So can any one please guide me how to create the variable for previous year.

Actually my problem will be solved if I am able to create variables in either Rows/Columns area of BeX.
Variables are getting created easily in Filter section of BeX (but in COPA , it will not serve any purpose COPA retraction does not recognise contents of Filter/variables contained in the filter).
In fact variables are getting created in Rows/Colums of Bex, but they are in the form of structures. (Again multiple structures (more than 1) are not recognised in COPA retraction.

How to create aliases for the terminal

I have set up an alias I frequently use when working on the command line and I'd like to change it now but I can't find the file where I set it up.
I googled a bit and found some people saying it must be in either .bash_profile or ~/.bashrc but I don't have either of those files in my home directory.
So basically how do I go about finding out where I have initially set up this alias so that I can modify it?

Solved my own question. It turns out you can also use .profile to define aliases :-)

Hi, depending on the way you set this up (it is not entirely clear if you are talking bex variables or report drop down filters), use the following;
For BEX variables, the choice will be in the
UserResponse("prompt message")
this you can display in the message format you want.
For drop down filters the choice will be in the DrillFilters(), this one will show all selections in one string.
However, if you want to format this to a certain message, you need to use the Formula
DrillFilters([object from drill bar])
This will give you the result of just that one selection. If the user did not select (yet), the value will be "".
