What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? For now, assumed Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Typically, if you increase the length of a video clip, you will create slow motion. If you decrease the length of a video clip, you will create fast motion effect.
You can right click the clip on the Timeline, select Time Stretch, and use the Time Stretch dialog's settings to change the video duration.
See the Adobe document/section on Set Duration of Clip

Add On...As an aside, if you have not done so already, please update 12 to 12.1 Update, using an open project's Help Menu/Update.

  • How can timelapse images be merged to create a video clip in elements premiere 12

Can not find directions to complete this task

Always good to give the computer operating system involved in case any computer specific details needed to be included. But here is your
generalized yet specific answer for Premiere Elements 12 and increasing the volume of a video clip.
If you are in the Expert workspace...
    a. click and drag upward the orange band that runs horizontally through the middle of the audio clip.
    or
    b. go to Adjust Tab/Adjustments Palette/ Volume Panel expanded on move the volume slide toward +6 dB.
0 db does not represent no sound. It represents the volume of the sound when it was recorded. 0 to +6 dB increases the sound above the recording level; 0 to infinity symbol decreases the sound below the recording level, finally to muted sound.
Please let us know if you are OK with the details above. My blog post on PE12: Audio Features may be useful to you.

  • How can I speed up loading of video clips in Elements 9.0?

    Hi,
I upgraded from 7.0 to 8.0 and was unhappy with the product, so upgraded again to 9.0 (Elements and Premiere). Right now the problem is that it takes 20-25 seconds to load a short video clip, i.e. to play it.
I am running with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 2.20 Ghz/2.20+GHz with 3 GB of ram.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

As a practical example it originally took 3 min to load a 1 hour 29 minute wedding & reception I shot in ACVHD 1080x1900. This was using one disk for all PE9 functions.
I defraged my drives and arranged the program and pagefile on one disk (C:), the project on another and recaptured the media onto the third drive
The same project then  took 1 minute to load or if I do it seperately, 20 seconds loading the program and 40 seconds the media
I can move up and down the full length of the long timeline quite quickly.
I have 2.4g core duo and 2mb ram
This is discussed to in many posts in this forum
So you know what to do!

  • How to fix speck of dust on video clip; Premiere Elements 9

    Hello
I have a shot in a video which has a spec of dust on the camera lens.  It's only a short clip but it would be really good if I could clean up the spot.  I've looked across this forum and found a few discussions but as I am new to Premiere Elements and video editing language in general I found them hard to understand!  Have had a go at working it out but a few hours later of tearing my hair out I thought I'd pose my own question and see if someone can help!  I can fix the smear in a still in Photoshop using the 'spot heal' tool, just wish there was some similar way of doing it to video in Premiere Elements.
If someone can help I would be very grateful, I had lots of problems trying to put a photo here so I've put it on a blog link here:
    http://stellasims.wordpress.com/2014/09/01/still-image-from-pe-9/
You can see the spot just below his collar.
    Thank you!

    Stellastar80
    Is this the spot
If so, let us do this....Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 assumed on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
Highlight the clip on the Timeline.
    Go to Clip Menu/Effects Mask/Apply
You should then see a bounding box on screen - position that bounding box so that the spot is inside it. Resize the bounding box using one of its
handles so that it is just large enough to house the spot...no excess.
Go to Edit Header/Effects/Presets/Blurs/Fast Blur In, select it and then click Apply.
In Edit Effects, adjust the blur. It can be tricky - often more than a tiny amount does not work.
Please give it a look and let us know the outcome.
The following blog post was done with Premiere Elements 11, not 9.0/9.0.1 on Windows 7 64 bit. Probably more than you want, but just in case....

  • How to keep video clips separate in sceneline?

I have just started using Premiere Elements 7 which came bundled with my new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. I have successfully put video clips into the Organizer. I want to move several clips into sceneline, and add transition effects between them. These are AVCHD movies that are stored on my hard drive (.mts files). I drag the first clip into the first box in Sceneline, then a new box opens to the right. I drag a second clip to it, and it just appends to the back of teh first clip in the first box. It doesn't matter how many clips I try to add, I end up with them all appended together in the first box. I can't edit them, can't add transition effects, can't delete just one clip. I have also tried this with MPEG movies I have previously taken and stored on my hard drive.
I have read the help files, and bought two books on Premiere Elements, and this is not acting like anything I see in the instructions. Is there a setting I should be looking for to allow the video clips to show up individually in boxes so that I can move them around, insert clips, delete clips, etc?

    Thanks Hunt. I found
the correct pre-set. I can see this will have a bit of a learning curve, but I'm on my way!

  • How to display video thumbnails in Elements Organizer 8?

I have a basic problem with Elements Organizer 8 and I'm really hoping someone can help me...
I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate on an Alienware Dimension AURORA_ALX (i7 975 @ 3.33Ghz) with 9Gb RAM.  I've installed Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 8.  I've then transferred video clips from my Sony HDR-SR12E and now want to manage them effectively using Premiere Elements 8.  The problem I'm having is that Elements Organizer 8 isn't showing any thumbnails for the video clips I've imported (I don't have the same problem with photo files - the thumbnails for these display correctly).  Windows 7 has no difficulty with showing the thumbnails when I open the folder containing the video clips, so this appears to be an issue with the Adobe software I'm using.
I've looked through the manual and other online resources - no joy.
I've attached a file (Capture.jpg) that hopefully illustrates my problem.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi guys
I have to confess that I'm completely new to Premiere Elements.
Thank you very much for your technical input everyone - this is much appreciated.
Barb__O, I tried to follow your suggestion, and I'm pretty sure I got the steps right, but I still didn't have any luck.  Perhaps I went wrong somewhere?
Also, based on the decent hardware specs I listed above, should I be expecting my computer to chomp through the auto-analyse stage?  I know it's AVCHD footage but the process still seems to take forever.

  • How-to add video clip to presentation?

How do I add a video clip to a Keynote '08 presentation? i drag and drop it and only get a black square on the page. Even though it's only a small square, when I view it in full screen mode the whole screen is black.
How do I add a video clip?

Well, it worked for me. I, however, used the Media browser. I don't know if you just grab a file from Finder and drop it in there. Although it should work, but I don't know why it doesn't. Also, what kind of file is it. Keynote supports a lot of video files but not every kind that exist. For me, I dropped a video that I made with friends from iMovie so its a QuickTime file. And I use the Media browser. Then I placed it at the centre. Then I pressed optionP to play the slideshow.

  • How to combine video clips into one video clip using FCPX

I typed this into the search engine but could not come up with anything. How do you combine Video clips into one Video clip using FCPX? Thanks in advance.
    Gar

The simple answer is to put the clips together in a project in the desired order and export (oops, the new word is share [YUK!]) a master file.
But maybe you should say a little more about the clips to determine whether the answer I've given is relevant to yor situation.

  • How to archive video clips to bluray

Just curious, is there a way to archive video clips from HDV and AVCHD camcorder onto bluray disc for long term storage/archival process?
    My reasons:
    1. HDV is being phase out, so in the future, even if minDV is a good long term archival media but I may not be able to retrieve clips when all HDV camcorders have bee phased out - say 5 to 10 years from now.
    2. AVCHD, in trying to reuse my HCSD cards for other projects, and also save disc spaces on my external hard drive AND avoid data loss due to hard drive crahses, I would like to be able to off load video clips I have in my SD cards onto bluray for future editing, can this be done easily or must I use fcp X to import them onto a Mac then somehow (I don't know how) export them onto a bluray disc then reimport them back into Mac for editing in some future time.
    thanks.

Long term? No one knows. But yes, you can make a camera archive, occupy it onto the disc, and burn a data DVD or Blu-ray disc assuming they have enough space.

  • Problem with video clips in Elements

Video clips that I've taken with my Canon DSLR cannot be opened in my organizer.  If I try to open them the system crashes.  I have a Win 7 - 64 bit op sys with enough memory to choke a horse.  I fairly familar with how this stuff works but this one has got me stumped. I have opened them before but something has changed and I don't know what.  Even when I opened them before they played poorly ... start and stop motion.  I went through all the prodceedures to correct (updated V card drivers and such) but nothing helped.  Anyone got any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I have reached an impasse.  If I touch a video clip (in organizer) the system crashes.  I mean locked up cold. I'm not sure what has caused this but I do know that I will not be able to communicate correctly or sufficiently with you in order for you to help me out.
I've found PS and Premier to be very difficult to work with.  Very, very frustrating.  Photography, both still and video, is not as enjoyable as it once was.
Again, I very much appreciate your initial help and if I get to a point where I've improved my situation ... I'll reach out again.  Thanks

  • How to crop video using ROI

    Hello,
Would some one please help me?
I have a loop which continuously aquire images from a camera and saves it to a video . I would like to crop a region of this video by passing the co-ordinates of a rectangle. After I have the cropped video, I would like to do a intensity profile of the whole video and display it using a single graph ( intesnity changes for diffferent frames in the y axis and the the number of the frame in x - axis.
    Joyce Joy

    Hi,
You can implement image cropping following the example:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11222
You would have to programmatically generate the ROI rectangle if you do not wish to have user interaction in the code.
I am not quite sure what kind of intensity profile you want, but here is a good example that performs it along a line, so you could just build an array of those and plot it.
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-20840
    Hope this helps!

  • How to blur video clips?

Is there an app on the app store that will blur parts of a video that i recorded?

... I would like to email the video to a client, rather than make a dvd. What is the best way to email video clips to a client?
    *best practice* :
    • 'share' your Project to YouTube
    • mail the URL to that YT-video to client
=> you avoid problems with size (=video is huge)/Bandwidth probs, and 'formats' (=YT is by sheer popularity 'standard'). You can set your Video at YT to 'Private', so only your client is able to watch it. meanwhile, YT allows superb quality ..-
    not-so-good practice:
under Share, Export using Quicktime and the following Option-dialogs allow tons of options to convert and 'shrunk' the video. depending on, what your IP allows about mail-attachement's sizes, you can play with the 'knobs' format/codec, frame-rate, size, to make the video small enough - for the price of quality and compatibility. ex, Windows users often have problems with h264.mov ...
