How to customize eBusiness Suite?

I am interested to know how eBusiness Suite supports customization. I have the following queries?
1. Are eBusiness Suite developed using Forms and Reports?
2. Are source code provided for customization?
3. How does eBusinees Suite integrate with another ERP systems? What types of integration mechanisms are available?

Oracle does not support any customization of Oracle Application Object Library tables or modules, and you must work outside of Applications in order for the customization to work as support does not debug custom code.

How to Stage EBusiness Suite 11i (media) DVDs to linux server

I've just recevied the media for Oracle Ebusiness Suite 11i in DVD format. I do not have a DVD reader on the VM paravirtual server which is where I need to install Oracle EBusiness Suite. As such I need a way to copy the entire DVD media to a file and then place that file into its own directory and unpack it so that I can install via rapidwiz.
What are some options for staging the EBusiness Suite media DVDs? . I have to mount each DVD and then is there a way to copy the contents of the DVD to one file so that I can then copy it to the desired server directory and then install?

How to generate XML from EBusiness suite ARXSGPO

Could someone tell me how I can generate XML from the EBusiness Suite Accounts Receivable report ARXSGPO.rdf I understand this report is called by a C program. I have tried changing the concurrent request to output format to XML the result does not resemble XML. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can generate XML from the ARXSGPO report?

the next release of XMLP will have last page only support. The problem is that at the template layer you do not know how many lines are going to fit on the page, so you never know what is going to be the last page. The only way around it for now is to specify the number of lines to a page and then check when all the lines have been rendered and then render the remit portion.
I have a sample invoice that does the same, drop me a mail, you can work out the email from my name and the fact I work for XMLP Im sure.

How do you change the window size for Ebusiness Suite after you log in. Currently it displays at 100% of the screen. I want to set it smaller, at some %

I don't know if there is a way to set this. Some user's may prefer different sizes of window, depending on their job duties. For example, we have 170 Systems document management integrated with purchasing and payables so users shrink the Oracle window to fill about 60% of the screen while 170 uses the remaining 40% to display the scanned document.

How to integrating APEX with the Oracle eBusiness suite release 11i

I need to integrate Apex with Oracle eBusiness Suite Release11. APEX need to use ERP authentication (user name/password) and oracle APEX pages will be called from oracle eBusiness Relese 11i menu.
I have followed metalink doc. 373604.1 and also looked into http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/pdf/Extend_Oracle_Applications_11i.pdf
I have setup DAD on Apache server, oracle Apps functions/menu and created apex_authorise function and added to my APEX application. I have followed the all the steps from above pdf file.
Here is my issues:
1. When I try to launch a APEX page again it asking me for the user name password
2. If I remove login page from APEX application then I can launch my APEX application but I cannot see any images
3. I need to pass oracle ERP 11i user and responsibility information to APEX. How should I do this?

Many customers want this and would have hoped that Oracle would have included this as an option. Unfortunately, the left hand(Oracle Apps product managers) don't talk to the right hand(Apex product managers). They totally missed this great opportunity to make life much easier for Oracle Apps customers who have been waiting for this capability that Apex provides. At the present time this is somewhat a black hole. There are people who have figured it out but no one has provided the recipe for everyone else. It's very unfortunate and a complete oversight by Oracle in my opinion. They've got thousands of people developing code but no one had any foresight to see who would use Apex and how they would use it.

How to stop Jinitiator installation for ebusiness suite application

Right now every time I try to log into ebusiness suite, I will be prompted to install Jinitiator for the first time and if I install I will not be prompted from next time onwards, My requirement is to stop prompting even for the firs time.
we are planning to go live with Employee self service and we do not want employees to be dealing with any installations since self service application does not need jinitiator.
which configuration file/profile I have to change?
we are on 11.5.10.2 apps version.IE 7.

     you made a good point , I should not stop this but in my case 95% self service users and 5% forms users , so we are going other direction until we figure out a way to stop Jinitiator installation launch based on what responsibilities a user have (self sevice or self service+ forms...).
I tryed to cancel the installation multiple times it comes back again and again.

     its custom SS resp. I have setup user who just have one self service resp. but still launches Jinitiator installation.

     no thats not how it is working, I have tested this (logged in as a user who just have custom self service responsibilities, still the Jinitiator installation starts up on log in and as I click on any link inside the responsibility).Even if I cancel first time it comes back again and again.

How can i publish a developed application to eBusiness Suite?

I have had much luck with jdeveloper and the OAFramework. Now that i have a web page with some interesting content on it, I need to deploy it to my eBusiness Suite applcation. Can anyone point me on how to do this? What steps are involved? Manual copy of files? recompilation?
My eBusiness is running on a Unix machine, does that involve some extra steps?

How WebCenter integrates with eBusiness Suite

I have just gone through the flash demo at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/fusion.html.
From a user & developer point of view WebCenter looks like a gr8 technology.
Is it going to replace OA Framework?
How does it integrate with eBusiness Suite?
Are there any eBusiness Suite pages being developed at Oracle using WebCenter?

Oracle WebCenter is part of the foundation technology that Oracle's new Fusion Applications are being built with. Oracle eBusiness Suite uses OA Framework today and is not being rebuilt, but will be enhanced over time. For instance eBusiness Suite R12 will use OA Framework. Existing eBusiness Suite customers may stay with eBusiness Suite or move to Fusion Applications as they see fit.
WebCenter Applications will be able to integrate with eBusiness Suite applications as soon as it is released using the existing PDK portlets.
As soon as WebCenter is released it will be made available as a download from OTN.

I found the return_value is true and the CookieName is not null.

For example, in 10G, when you double click on an Actor, you get a really useful set of fields to fill in. In 11G, you get xml boilerplate that I don't know how to use, and has none of the fields on the 10G properties panel.

How to customize JSP page in iSupport

I have worked on OA framework. But I have got a requirement to customize iSupport page in oracle apps. There is a Next button on page, I want to call one DB function by passing 2 parameters to this function. Get the result from that function and show the error message to user based in result of function.
This page is JSP page. I got the JSP page name from URL in browser. I view the source of that page and found following statement..

Hi Paraq,
if you want to extend a seeded Oracle E-Business suite page you should use the personalization framework combined with a custom controller. Personalisations are done via the ebusiness suite user interface and involve no coding and allow you to intergate custom components into the app.
Controller extensions are not recomended in E-Business suite however they are commonly implemented. You can personalise the page/region/table controller etc... to call your custom controller when they are invoked. See the OAF Personalization/Development guide for details on how to do this.
One problem you will have here is that if you want to modify an existing controller you will need the source code which would probably mean getting an Oracle consultant or you could decompile the class files, failing that if you can bypass the existing controller by personalizing a different aspect of the page i.e. a region or table that doesnt already have a controller then you might get away with it.
