How to customize homepage role-based?

Hi,
I want to customize the homepage in crm2007 by role. I customized the menu entries but cant find the right place for the homepage. I checked the component workbench but couldnt find what I was looking for.
Can anybody help?

ADF UIX Role Based Access Control Implementation

Hi,
Can anybody suggest a detailed example or tutorials of how to implement a role based access control for my ADF UIX application.
The application users can be dymanically added to specific roles (admin, Secretary, Guest). Based on the roles, they should be allowed to access only certain links or ADF entity/view operations. Can this be implemented in a centralized way.
Can this be done using JAZN or JAAS. If so, Please provide me references to simple tutorial on how to do this.

I think you are following a valid approach. The default security in J2EE and JAAS (JAZN) is to configure roles and users in either static files (jazn-data.xml) or the Oracle Internet Directory and then use either jazn admin APIs or the OID APIs to programmatically access users, groups and Permissions (your role_functions are Permissions in a JAAS context).
If you modelled your security infrastructure in OID than the database, an administrator would be able to use the Delegated Administration Service (DAS), as web based console in Oracle Application Server. To configure security this way, you would have two options:
1. Use J2EE declarative security and configure all you .do access points in web.xml and constrain it by a role name (which is a user group name in OID). The benefit of this approach is that you can get Struts actions working dirctly with it because Struts actions have a roles attribute.
The disadvantage is that you can't dynamically create new roles because they have to be mapped in web.xml
2. Use JAAS and check Permissions on individual URLs. This allows you to perform finer grained and flexible access control, but also requires changes to Struts. Unlike the approach of subclassing the DataActionForward class, I would subclass the Struts RequestProcessor and change the processRoles method to evaluate JAAS permissions.
The disadvantage of this approach is that it requires coding that should be done carefully not to lock you in to your own implementation of Struts so that you couldn't easily upgrade to newer versions.
1 - 2 have the benefit of that the policies can be used by all applications in an enterprise that use Oracle Application Server and e.g. SSO.
Your approach - as said - is valid and I think many customers will look for the database first when looking at implementing security (so would I).

OIM 11.1.1.5 provisioning role based objectclasses and attributes

TL;DR You can't provision some attributes in our LDAP directory without the objectclass and I can't figure out the best way to inject the dynamic objectclasses into the create user process without the user being created already.
Some background:
I have configured our oim 11.1.1.5 instance and LDAP connector to provision ODSEE. At another's recommendation, I put all possible LDAP attributes in a single form regardless of which objectclass was needed for them. In ODSEE, sets of attributes are allowed through objectclasses for each 'Role'. ie. Student, Employee, Guest, etc objectclasses. I have all of the roles identified in OIM and can map them to an objectclass in LDAP
My question is, how can I provision role based objectclasses along with the common ones that are configured in the lookup so that when the associated attributes are provisioned, I don't get objectclass violations?
Can I append objectclasses to the list stored in the Configuration lookup in ldapUserObjectClass?
Should I create a child form containing the objectclasses and try to provision them?
Can/should I create a child form for each set of attributes by role? Common attribs in the LDAP_USR form and role based attribs in UD_LDAP_STU, UD_LDAP_EMP, UD_LDAP_GST, etc. Would prepop and the rest of the main form functions work the same?
Anything else I'm not thinking of? I am still a novice with some of these topics and may be way off base.

It is definitely doable if you use a custom LDAP connection implementation and just add objectclass update calls as needed as precursor tasks for the Update tasks.

There may be a smarter and more out of the box way to do it but this will work.

Hi,
You need to have Back End support to achieve this. In Back End you need to create two groups . You need to know what joins has to be made for which group (which is more important) and also make session variable for the userrole (with SQL supporting it). In the BMM layer, we need to put the security join conditions in the 'where clause'.
And make a common report. User loggin in with the respective userid will have userrole and joins assigned in the Back end. And they will be viewing the report according to their access.

How to customize flash-based web galleries?

Has anyone here figured out how to customize the CS4 Bridge flash-based web galleries? Specifically, I'd like to be able to add the "description" line from the metadata to an image, without having to add ALL the metadata (as a couple of the galleries allow).
Seems like such a simple thing. Can't imagine why Adobe didn't add it. It is standard in the older HTML gallery templates.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

I am new to Robo Help. I have created a Robo help for my Java Web Applicaion. My application is role base i.e some user's will not see some of the pages of the application. So I want to hide those pages in Robo help as well. I tried creating multiple TOC for different Roles.
My Question is
How to call robo Help from my application?(I will be calling using java script. If it is with RoboHelp_CSH.js where can I get that and How to implement it in my project)

I answered that. My point in asking whether it matters was that if it does, then you cannot use content categories and point different users to different categories and not allow them to see the others.
The alternative, as I said, would be to produce different outputs for each role.
As it does matter, then using webhelp you will have to use your RoboHelp project to produce a number of outputs, one for each category. Your app would install each webhelp into different folders and when your app determines the user role, you will link to the appropriate help.
There is another thread running where it has been explained by Willam van Weelden that you can achieve what you want using browser based AIR help. If that form of help can be considered, then the thread is at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4914753?tstart=0#4914753
Browser based AIR help must be run from a web server. It cannot be installed locally.

Try this:
Have 2 iViews, 2 pages, 2 worksets, 2 usergroups (ug1 & ug2 (say))..
Also, you have to separate your news links in 2 folders (folder1 & folder2):
iView1 --> links from folder1 (for user of ug1)
iView2 --> links from folder2 (for user of ug2)

Use FM: HR_GETEMPLOYEEDATA_FROMUSER
This will give you all info related to User ID.
In parameter EMPLOYEESUBGROUP , you will get position of this employee.

Would like to know how to customize the Application Express Home Page that user goes to when they login to APEX. Specifically, I'd like to present a SQL Workshop only Home Page by disabling the "Application Builder" and "Utilities" icons/tabs. So the idea is to have another class of user "SQL Developer" that has access to the SQL Workshop only functionality. Any suggestions on how to do this is appreciated. Thanks.

Role based session service setup on AM 7.1 with separate conf/user ldap

AM 7.1 is installed with two separate LDAP instances used for AM config store and user repository.
I want to setup different active session quota based on role assignment.
The session service cos only existed on the AM config LDAP store.
If I create the role and assigned and customize the session service to the role on the AM config LDAP store, the role cannot be assigned to user profile only existed on the user repository.
If the role is created on the user repository, then the session service cannot assigned to the role on the user repository.
I try created roles on both repository, assign session service to the role on AM config ldap and assign role of same name on the user repository to the user. The role based session is not effective.
Would appreciate if any one can shed some light on how to setup role based session service on an AM installation with the AM config ldap and user repository being on 2 separate ldap instances.
