How to customize size of "Swatches" Panel in Photoshop CS 4/5?

Hello,
1) Using the edge of the bottom right hand corner you can drag a swatches panel to a smaller or larger size.
The picture above was taken when the swatch panel's dimensions counld not be further dragged down into a smaller size. I want to reduce the swatches panel's dimensions to only show one row of small colour thumbnails to increase space of my workplace within Photoshop CS5.
2) Also, I would be eternally thankful if any one of you could tell me how to assign shortcut keys for custom colour swatches that I select using the eyerdropper tool and save into the swatches panel.

You can collapse your panels down to icons, arrainge them in a single column, and dock them to the side of the workspace. Clicking on the icon will open the panel, and clicking again will collapse it back.

    color Swatch

You can download a Theme from Adobe Color CC in .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) format. In the Swatches panel in PhotoShop open the panel menu (top-right corner) and select Load Swatches...
Your theme swatches will be added to the bottom of the current ones.

  • How to save Gradient in Swatches Panel

    Hi!
I want to save a gradient in swatches panel. I dont find any option there. What to do?

You cannot save a gradient in the swatches panel. You can save it as a style in the Styles panel, however.

  • How do you open the clone panel in Photoshop Elements 12, it isn't shown in the windows list

I am trying to access the clone panel in Photoshop Elements 12. The tutorials I have seen show a drop down list from the windows button, however on my drop down list there is no clone panel.
I guess my question is does PE12 have a clone panel and if so how do I access it?

I've never heard of a "clone panel" but the clone stamp is in the Enhance section on the right side, below the Healing Brush. If you see the pattern stamp there instead, just click the clone stamp in the tool options at the bottom of the window.

  • How To Auto Hide the Icon Panels in Photoshop CS6?

I did go to the preferences and changed the icon panel to hide but it does not work... I also did what is suggested and exited the program to activate any changes and it still does  not work.  I've seen folks who produce tuts with this feature so I know its possible.
    Thanks....

So you saying if you have the preference Auto-Collapse Iconic Panels checked and have a panel expanded from the collasped panels that
clicking somewhere in the document area doesn't collaspe the panel back to an icon?

  • Photoshop CS6 Swatches Panel Problem

    Hello,
I appologize if this or a similar question has been answered previously, but after some searching I haven't been able to find a solution to my issue. So I run PS CS6 with the default swatches working in the painting workspace on WIndows 7. The swatches usually looked like this:
However when I opened my file to work on today the panel suddenly looked as follows:
I am not sure how or why this changed happened, I didn't make any changes to my preferences at all. Yesterday when I had the file open the swatches were as above and today they look like the second image. I tried resetting the swatches to default replacing the current panel, but it just resets to this order. I have even deleted the swatches.psp file in users/appdata/roaming/adobe/etc... and photoshop still opens to this order of colors. I've even gone as far as resetting all photoshop preferences to no avail. I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it back to the way it was originally. It's not a huge deal but I find it extremely annoying as I've gotten used to working with the default swatches panel order.
So if anyone knows how I can reset my swatches panel so they look as they originally did above I would be extremely grateful.
    Thanks in advance.

Nothing really changed other than the width of the swatches palette because it is grouped with other palettes that are wider than it's minimum size.  All the colors are still there, in the same order.

  • Chance swatch panel to match illustrators

Is there a way to chance the Swatches Panel in Photoshop so it looks and works like Illustrators?

As far as I can tell: No.
And due to the differences between vector and pixel oriented graphics/image editing it may not be sensible in several regards anyway.
But what exactly are you after?

  • How to customize a javafx.ext.swing.Panel

    Seid gegrüsst
I want to customize a javafx.ext.Panel for a little testapplication. It's not possible to use something else, because the customized Panel should be in a ScrollPane.
How ever, in ordinary java I simply override the public void paint(Graphics g) method and place my drawing routine into it.
Is there a similar way in javafx to customize a Panel?

    Hi.
    To answer your question: No.
When you look into the sources of javafx.ext.swing:
AbstractPanel (the base class for Panel) does not extend JPanel.
Instead, it has an attribute of type JPanelImpl (basically a javax.swing.JPanel).
So there is no chance to influence the paint method's behaviour in the Panel class.
The only possibility would be to extend the original JPanelImpl (overriding its paint method) and to rewrite AbstractPanel and Panel.
    Regards,
    Jens

  • How to: Customize Panel End Marks in Photoshop Lightroom 2 and 3

    Hello everyone,
I thought I would share with you this video showing how to customize Panel End Marks in Lightroom 2 and 3.
I hope you enjoy. Here is the link:
    http://photoshoplightroombridge.co.uk/?p=428

"Show your designs" via panel end marks??? Maybe that's a linguistic error and you mean "branding". If not, it's drivel. Panel end marks can be handy for reminders - for example what your ratings mean - but even that's a stretch.
Anyway, this forum is not for advertising one's tutorials, even if they are on a near-useless feature that's about as newsworthy as Stonehenge.

  • Increase the size of swatches?

How can I increase the size of swatches [ the ones in palette] in InDesign? maybe a registry hack?

Check the panel flyout menu. You have four choices: Name, which is the default view, Small Name, which crams in even more, or large or small swatces without names, a la Illustrator, and that's it.

  • Swatches panel won't resize to fit colors in gradient order in Photoshop CC?

I just upgraded to Creative Cloud and one problem I encountered was having my colors displayed in the gradient order when the swatches panel is attached to other panels and gathered on the right. You can tell this in the following screenshot of the panels here:
When separated from the rest, having the panel floating the colors are able to be displayed correctly. As seen here:
Is there no way I can have this configuration and still have it attached to the other panels? I've noticed that the panel that prohibits it to be resized to the proper size is the layers panel. How can I fix this?

When panels are docked together, they can only be resized down to the greatest  minimum width in the bunch, in this case, the Layers panel. What I do is set the panel to use Large Thumbnails, and then increase the width so that the colors line up.
However, if the Swatches panel is docked with the Brush panel (which is v e r y  w I d e), Large Thumbnails aren't large enough, and you can line the colors up.
Another thing you can do is stick some extra swatches (can be any color you like) on the right side of the panel, probably two for every row.

  • My Illustrator does not allow me to change colors using swatches panel. Help pleas.

Few days ago I started having strange problems with my Illustrator CS5 application. I am using MacBook Pro with Intel Processor.  After major update on the Mac OS  few days ago  I noticed I can not change colors in my drawings using swatches panel. The function on my Illustrator CS5 stopped working.  When I select object and try to change its fill or stroke color using fill and stroke from the options bar above work space,  none of the swatches would work.  The are there how ever nothing hapends when I select them, the color remains the same. The same thing happens if I try to use the swatch panel, I select the object then I try to select new color from swatch but the fill or stroke does not change. I can only change color on my drawings using the color panel but that is not useful for me since I need to get precise colors using approved color swatches ether from pantone library or approved by client.
The other strange thing is my selection tool does not deselect when I click outside on or of the artboard, the object remains selected until I reselect another object or use the keyboard short cut to deselect it.
I have tried various options to resolve the issue from deleting and reseting preference to completely uninstalling and  reinstalling Illustrator CS5. I even installed back my old CS4 version because I had to complete a project  and the same issue is happens there as well. I also reset the application using Time Machine from few months ago when it was working correctly. What happens when I reset or reinstall the app, it works for  about 10 min correctly as it should and and then it reverts to the same problem. I am out of options and do not know what else I could  do to fix this. Right now I am working on my old Mac tower G5 and CS4 where everything works as it is suppose to, but I really need to get this fixed. Can any one help or has solution for my problem? Please.
