How to cut a single track into seperate songs

I am very new to Garage band and home recording in general. I recorded my band practice and want to pick the best songs into separate tracks to make a cd for everyone to practice with. I just used the computer mic and recorded a 2 hour practice as one track. Any help would be much appreciated!

skim down through the tute on recording LPs, you'll see how to do it:

  • How to make a single recording into multiple songs garageband

I recorded my band's gig the other night using my Zoom H2 recorder.  I want to take the single 1.5 hour recording (12songs) and make it into a CD with 12 individual tracks.  I would like to use garageband so i can edit out the deadtime between songs but I don't know how to make a CD.

  • I have a DAQ Assistant configured to read multiple channels at the same time. When I wire a graph indicator to the output, I see all of my signals jumbled together. How do I split them up into seperate signals?

I have a DAQ Assistant configured to read 2 channels at the same
time. When I wire a graph indicator to the output, I see the 2
signals jumbled together. How do I split them up into seperate signals?
When I wire any type of indicator it is showing just one output of a single channel.
I want 2 indicators showing 2 different signals as expected from the 2 channels configured. How to do this?
I have tried using split signal but it end up showing only 1 output from 1 signal in both the indicators.
    thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes you are right. I tried that but I did not get the result.
I just found the way. When we launch split signal, we should expand it (split signal icon) from above and not from below. It took me a while to figure out this.
    thanks

  • How do i combine single pages into documents with Adobe?

How do i combine single pages into documents with Adobe?

    Hi zebideeplus,
Using Reader, you need to purchase subscription for Adobe PDF Pack  to combine PDF files into single document.
Refer: Acrobat.com Help | Adobe PDF Pack FAQ
But, if you need to combine single pages, then it can be done with Adobe Acrobat only.
Let me know if you have further queries.

  • How do i convert multiple tracks into one large mp3?

how do i convert multiple tracks into one large mp3?

    Hi,
You can use an app such as Audacity or Join Together to create one larger file. If AAC file used instead of mp3, you could use GarageBand.
If you have the original CD, you can join the tracks whilst re importing disc.

  • How can I merge 2 tracks into one track with iTunes 11?  I used to do it with iTunes/Advanced/Join Tracks, but iTunes 11 does not have an "Advanced" button.

How can I merge 2 tracks into one track with iTunes 11?

Thanks for your reply, Jim.  I imported a CD that I had burned previously with the 2 tracks of sound effects that I had downloaded from the internet (MP3 files), but I did not see an option to join the tracks when I imported the CD.  In the upper right corner there were three buttons: Options, CD Info, and Import CD.  When I click on Options, the drop-down menu has two choices: "Get Track Names"  and "Submit CD Track Names".   I cannot find an option to Join Tracks.  Help!

  • How to export multiple separate tracks as one song from Logic to iTunes?

I know how to export the separate tracks that i have recorded, but i want to be able to save all of the tracks into one song, in other words, i want to be able to take my recording from logic 8 and export the entire thing, not just separate tracks, into a file that iTunes can read. Any help/suggestions?

Select "Bounce" (upper right part of Logic arrange window) and make sure MP3 is check under "Destination". This will cause all tracks to be written to a single MP3 stereo file. However, if you have any tracks muted they will not be included in the bounce. Also, make sure no track is "Solo" else you will only get THAT track.
I am assuming that you have mixed all the tracks and done any "mastering".
Once the MP3 file is generated just drag it into iTunes, right click on the song, and then select Get Info and the "Info" tab to assign Artist/Album/etc.
    It is very easy......

  • How to make 48 mono tracks into 24 stereo tracks

When I opened a Final Cut Pro project in Audition 5.5 the Final Cut Pro project had 24 stereo pairs.  The Audition project has 48 mono tracks.  How do I convert every pair of mono tracks into a stereo track?

The FinalCut XML format that is used to send this only accomodates mono clips on mono tracks (just like FinalCut itself). If it supported Stereo clips on Stereo tracks like most DAWs or PremierePro, then it wouldn't really be an issue.
That being said, the linking between two adjacent clips in a stereo pairs in FinalCut doesn't transfer over because this version of Audition CS5.5 doesn't have the ability to group clips.   If the source audio files are originally stereo, you could save the session as a SESX, and then perhaps make a script to modify the XML to change all the tracks to stereo, and find and combine 2 mono clips referencing a stereo file, and just make a single stereo clip.  I'm not sure if that explanation helps (or even makes sense).
Perhaps you could post the session, and I could give more direct advice.

  • How can I break one track into several tracks

    Hello all,
Im new to Mac and garageband, My problem is when i spin a full set of lets say 2 hours into garage band as 1 track, how can I go back and break that 1 track into several tracks so when I make a cd people can change from track to track instead of listening to one track all the way through.
    Thanks in Advance

Ok now that I chose the region how would I export it?
    Just select "export".
And Also Do I have to export each track one by one to itunes?
Since you want to burn a CD, you need several sound files, and GB only exports one file at a time.

  • How to put two mono tracks into the usual stereo view in Edit view of Audition 3 ?

    Hi guys,
Previously I have had no issues simply using Adobe Audition 3 for simple stereo recording and editing of a stereo feed taken from a mixer... well nearly no issues....  :-)
Today, I'm having a bad day or else it's because I'm getting used to being retired.. :-)  ......
Query :    How do I put two mono tracks into the usual stereo view in Edit view so they both display correctly there?
Put simply I have two mono wav files. Let's call them Left_wav and Right_wav.
I cannot seem to get them imported into a new clean Edit view (Normal stereo track layout) so that Left_wav is on the top half and Right_wav is on the bottom half.
Whenever I try, I just get either Left_wav or Right_wav taking up the whole of the edit view. i.e. it just shows one track.
Can anyone familiar with Audition 3 kindly help? I'd appreciate a simple step by step... I just can't see where I've been going wrong, and it's driving me bananas :-).
    Thanks

There are various ways to do this in Audition 3. here's one.
Open both mono files separately in Edit view. Then convert Left_wav to Stereo by going to Edit/Convert Sample Type and under Channels select Stereo with Left Mix at 100% and Right Mix at 0%. This will give you a new stereo file with Left_wav on the top channel. Next go to the Right_wav and copy to the clipboard using Edit/Copy. Return to your new stereo file and enable Edit Right channel only in Edit/Edit Channel/Edit Right Channel. Then make sure that the cursor is at start of the stereo file and Paste Right_wav into the bottom channel of the new stereo file. Finally Save As.

  • How to convert inported cd tracks into mp3 tracks

Is it possible to convert imported cd tracks into mp3 tracks in itunes?
If it can be done, can someone explain the procedure?
    Thanks

It’s worth mentioning that this results in a loss of sound quality. If you’re listening on the earbuds that came with your iPod, or on a car stereo, you probably won’t hear any difference, but if you're using really good headphones or speakers, it is likely that you will.
Depending on your listening situation and the number of tracks you need to convert, you may decide that you prefer to simply re-import the CDs in question as MP3s.

  • HOw to cut up a video into separate tracks?

It's been a while since i used iMovie, so I can't remember what term I would need to look up in the help section. I have a hour long home movie that I want to cut up and use only certain portions in my final video. Each portion will then become a new track on the DVD that can be accessed via the DVD menu. How would I go about this?
    Thanks

There are two ways to do this in iMovie 09
    1) Use Chapter Markers
    2) In the Project Library View, select the project and then click FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT. Do this as for as many copies as you need. Then to create a shorter portion, delete the clips you do not need for that portion.
If you are open to using another application, you can Share your movie in iMovie. Then use QuickTime Pro ($30) or MPEG Streamclip (free) to split the movie.

  • How do I pass single quotes into a string variable?

    Thanks for any help?
    Example
    Select xdat, yday
    from foo
    where
    xdat = to_char(sysdate, 'mm/dd/yyyy')
How do I pass the single quoted stuff above into a string variable?

Thank you but that is not the same thing. I am building a dynamic sql statement and need to pass the quoted material into a statement that is quoted Is that not what my example above shows?
My example above has a quoted string inside a string. I think this is exactly what you were asking for.

  • How do I make separate tracks into takes in one track?

I want to know how to use quick swipe comping on separate tracks. If not possible, how do I merge those separate tracks as takes in one track so I can use quick swipe?
I am using logic pro X and finding comping very slow when trying to comp multi tracks.

Lasso-select (in one swoop) and/or cmd-select (one by one) all regions you want to include into the take folder, then control-click any of them and choose Pack Take Folder from the contextual menu.

  • How do I put single pictures into one folder and then give a name to folder

I have imported some pictures from a memory stick.  They are in a single format and I want to make them into a folder and add a title to the folder.  What do I do to add it to my events?

In iPhoto menu under "Events" then "Create Event."
Once you have created and named the new Event you can drag and drop from "Last Import" under "Recents" in the pane on the left to the new event.
