How to de-activate lightroom

I have installed Lightroom in Windows 10 Technical Preview. It works very well but I will need to re-install Lightroom in Windows 10 proper when it comes out and have no more activations. I therefore would like to know how to get an activation back when the Technical Preview stops working.

There is no deactivation for Lightroom you will just need to have your license key / keys original and upgrade if applicable.
You can install / uninstall as many times that is necessary once you adhere to two active installations with one in use at any point in time. The keys are cross platform Mac &/or Win

There are two LR’s, the standalone one that uses a serial number for licensing and the CC one that uses a CC login for licensing.
If you purchased the Photographers Program for $9.99/month or some other CC option that includes LR, then you have a license for the CC version. However, only one LR can be installed at a time and since the non-CC version is installed CC won’t offer its version for install.
What you should do is uninstall the standalone serial number LR, and reboot or at least restart the CC Cloud App, which will tell it to rescan what is installed locally and see that LR is no longer installed, and offer it in the CC Apps list with an Install button next to it. Click that..
The CC version of LR will pick up where the non-CC version left off so your catalog and preferences and photos will be the same as before.

There is no activation mechanism in Lightroom. Hence no Help > Deactivate.
Only need to uninstall. Or leave it installed since the license allows two installations.

A short desciption of my problem
History
        Installed Lightroom on my Zbook and activated my serial number
        Windows crashed and reciovery failed
        Format harddrive & re-install windows
        Downloaded Lightroom via free abode cloud interface (Dec/Jan)
        Could use lightroom until February
        Lightroom develop is inactivated ( I can see all my pictures in the Library mode)
        When I punch in my serial nr for lightroom I get the message that it is already active
I presume that the issue is that it seems that I am trying to active my license again ?

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

The same way you did the first time. Download the trial version, install it, activate it with the serial number that you have now. The license entitles you to two installations, but for your own personal use.

When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.

In the Develop Mode I have every option exept "lens corrections" - where is it hidden? (see picture - sorry it's in German)

How do I remove Lightroom 4 Trial to install Lightroom 5 EDU edition?

I currently have an expired trial of Lightroom 4 on my laptop. I just purchased Lightroom 5 Student and Teacher edition. How do I remove the Lightroom 4 trial but still keep the catolog to import to Lightroom 5? And do I just do a normal install of Lightroom 5 after that?

You can either uninstall Lightroom 4 before or after you install Lightroom 5. Uninstalling will not remove the Lightroom 4 catalog. The catalog is a user file and will remain. When you decide to uninstall Lightroom 4 you will use the standard procedure for what ever operating system you are using. You install Lightroom 5 like you would install any other program; by running the installer. Take note that since you have a student version you need to follow the instructions on the card within the box in order to get the serial number that will activate Lightroom on your computer.

I dont know which operating system you are working on so i am giving you some steps windows and MAC OS:
Windows:
In windows 7 navigate to following location:
/windows/system32/drivers/etc
1. look out for "Hosts" file
2. Open it with notepad
3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CS6
On Windows XP navigate to following location:
\windows\system32\drivers\etc
1. look out for "Hosts" file
2. Open it with notepad
3. Check if you have any entry for Adobe
4. Remove the entries and try again launching any product from CS6
Mac:
1. Please click on "Go" and navigate to /private/etc
2. Open "hosts" file and check out for any entries for Adobe.com
3. Remove the entries and save the file
4. try again launching any product from CS6

There is no "activation" process. If you purchased the standalone version then you need to enter the 24-digit serial number. If you have subscribed to the creative cloud then you need to sign into the creative cloud manager application with your Adobe ID and password. The programs for the standalone version and the creative cloud version are precisely the same Lightroom program. There are no differences in the functionality. The only difference is in the licensing. If you download the wrong one then you will have difficulty making it work. Please explain what it is that is happening that you need help with.

If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate. The actiovation is tied to your CPU.
