How to de authorize a broken computers home share
My sons computer has completely died. We my fam and I were all on a home share me my wife nd 3 children I have boughten my son a new Mac book pro nd can't get his new Mac on the network cuz there is already 5 computers on it. How do I get the broken pc of the net so I can put the new one on. The pc will not turn on so can not de authorize from there. Ugh plz help.
This has nothing to do with home sharing.
The issue is that Apple limits a maximum of 5 computers being authorized on any one Apple id.
At this point, the only way around this is to deauthorize all computers and then re-authorize the ones that really need access to the account.
This article will explain how to deauthorize all computers.

You have to wait the full year to de authorize all your computers. The only other way is to find the computer you are authorized on and click on store in the menu bar and click de authorize from there.

I have authorized over the past years a total of 5 computers, two of which bit the dust. Apple will not allow me to authorize any more computers because I've maxed out the limit of 5. According to the instructions, I must deauthorize the two computers that crashed to allo any more computers to share my music, videos, etc. I can't deauthorize the two hard drives that "crashed", so how can I authorize any more computers? Help.
Once per year you can deauthorize all five computers regardless of whether they are still in service or no longer in your possession. You can then reauthorize the computers you still use.
In iTunes Store click on the Account link under Quick Links. -
I have Home Share set up on my laptop as well as my husband's laptop and I have transferred songs in the past from his computer to mine. Currently when I launch Itunes on both computers, Home Share is active and my computer 'sees' the list of his songs and his computer 'sees' the list of my songs; however it won't let me drag/drop from his list into my music? I am not sure what is going wrong here?
I'm not sure if I know what you mean when you say, quote 'my library'. Is that the name of the library on your remote computer?
Some people have found home sharing a little particular about how you drag and drop. E.g., you drag from remote computer to local computer (and not vice versa), and you drop it anywhere in the "LIBRARY" section of your local computer:
Open up the share library by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the shared computer's name in iTunes (and, as mentioned above, the shared library has to have the icon next to it). See my "Living Room Library" in the screen snapshot below.
Select the tracks on the remote computer you want to copy to your local computer (in my case from the "Music" section of the "Living Room Library").
Drag a song from the panel on the right (in this example, Santana's Oye Como Va, on that remote computer) from the shared library into the local library (you'll see the library visually highlight when the dragged music hovers over the library). You don't need to get more precise than that, because when you drop it while the library is highlighted, it will figure out where to put it. -

How can I authorize and access my itunes account on a new computer if I cant access my old computer to enable home sharing
Authorization

Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
To deauthorize a computer you don't have:
De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
