How to deactivate Internet Explorer's REFRESH Functionality ?

Hello All,
I want to deactivate the REFRESH Functionality of the Internet Explorer.
Can we acheive this ?
If yes can anyone guide me ?

As you mentioned in other thread, the problem is because of stateful mode...
What i suggest you is, in your child window after the downloading the files,make your application as stateless dynamically..Anytime you can change it as stateful too..
[SAP allows changing the mode dynamically using program.
* To Change the BSP application to Stateless mode use the below syntax,the application is executed statelessly.
runtime->keep_context = 0.
* To Change the BSP application to Stateful mode use the below syntax,the application is executed statefully.
runtime->keep_context = 1.
Make it as stateless & clear the variables
FREE: gv_event,display_url. "OR
Clear: gv_event,display_url.

Internet Explorer Page Refresh in Stateful BSP ?

Hello All,
 I created a BSP Application with "Page-with-Flow-Logic" not MVC Model and the output page of this BSP conatins the Push Buttons which will handle the Download to XLS,XML,HTML and PDF along with the output Table view.
This particular output page is stateful.
The Output is displayed in the Tableview as per the selection and now if I use the Buttons to Download the Tableview content to any of the above mentioned options(XLS,XML,HTML,PDF) It gets downloaded perfectly depending on the choosed option and shows the Downloaded Content in a new window.
Now after seeing the downloaded content in the respective format in the new window the User closes the window manually.This closing of window is not done thru the code.
After closing the Download content window manually and now If I press REFRESH Button on the INTERNET EXPLORER PAGE a pop-up is raised saying :-
The page cannot be refreshed without resending the information.Click RETRY to send the informmation again or click CANCEL to return to the page that you were trying to view.
Now If I choose either RETRY or CANCEL Button I'm again getting the window of the Downloaded Content along with the Output page.
I debugged the BSP to know the actual reason after pressing the REFRESH Button of the Internet Explorer.
The Events are not getting cleared and so since the last event was " to download the content to a format and to open a new window ". The window is again getting opened with all the data which was there previously as there is no code to close it.
1, How to avoid this ?
Atleast I want to close the new window (DOWNLOAD Content) thru the codeafter the USER closes it manually. Can this be acheived ?

2, When Internet Explorer's REFRESH Button is pressed I want to clear everything on the particular output page.
Is it possible to do this when my page is stateful ?
If yes can anyone help me out......

Dear All,
How to stop Internet Explorer upgrade to IE 10 & IE 11
In our environment we have around 300 workstations.I need to stop all of the machine users from manually downloading and installing IE.Also how do it stop the IE from updating using Group policy on windows server 2008 & windows server 2003.
All users machine are on windows 7.
Basically i want all users to get restricted to IE9.

Internet Explorer 10 will be available as an “Important” update through the Automatic Update feature of Windows Update. Users of Windows 7 Service Pack 1, who have opted to
download and install updates automatically through Windows Update (recommended setting), will automatically be upgraded to Internet Explorer 10.
However, we can prevent users from upgrading to IE 10 via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
Regarding how to prevent users from upgrading to IE10 or IE11, the following two articles can be referred to for more information.

Internet Explorer 8 is not compatible to install in Windows 8/8.1 PC.
As Rob suggested, we could use Internet Explorer 10 (In Windows 8) or Internet Explorer 11 (In Windows 8.1) developer tools to emulate IE8,
Using the F12 developer tools; Or build a Virtual Machine.

Probably because there's a ton of website that require IE to run properly.
That said, unfortunately all you can do is run Windows in a VM environment like Parallels or VMWare Fusion to get your IE fix on. Sorry.

How to close Internet Explorer and other programs running on Windows?

In order for Flash Player to be installed or updated, any programs that use Flash Player must be closed. This includes Internet Explorer or other browsers, instant messengers, Skype, etc.
These programs may be running in the background, not as visible windows, but need to be closed anyway.
To close such programs use the Windows Task Manager. To start Task Manager, take any of the following actions:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
Right-click an empty area of the taskbar, and then click Task Manager.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process.

Do you want to install IE on a Bootcamp/Windows or OSX? OSX does not have IE anymore. The last IE was v4.0 for native OSX.

my system : up to date computer, W7 familial premium (64 bit), Internet Explorer 11 (32 bit)
I use this computer on the web to visit just one website, always the same and several hours a day ; this site advocate the use of Internet Explorer 64 bits for more efficiency.
How can I get to install, or switch to the 64 bit version of Internet Explorer, as presently when I try to install a downloaded version, I get as an answer something like "installation not possible because the more up to date version of Internet Explorer

On a 64-bit version of Windows, please click system drive, there should be a “Program Files” and “program Files x86”,
the "Program Files" folder is for 64-bit programs and the "Program Files (x86)" folder is for 32-bit programs, you will find IE11 64 bit has already installed in you system in “Program Files”>”Internet explorer”.

How to open Internet Explorer files?

I have a bunch of Internet Explorer files that I transferred from my old OS 9 iMac. Now, it seems, I can't open any of them. These are web pages I saved for research purposes, and I would really like to open them if at all possible. It was suggested that Opera 9 could open Internet Explorer files; but, I tried that and it didn't work. Does anyone know how I might do that?

Archives that you saved with Internet Explorer can only be opened by Internet Explorer.
These are essentially a single file that contains the entire site.
Other browsers save files, pictures, and supporting information in a folder for each page you save.
But, Internet Explorer wraps all that into a single file (a web archive). This format is naturally only compatible with Internet Explorer.
You need to get the latest version of Internet Explorer for Mac OS X.
Microsoft has officially abandoned this browser. So, they are not offering it or supporting it anymore.
But, you can still locate a copy for downloading at:
http://web.nickshanks.com/browsers/ie/macosx

You misunderstood; selecting an IE variation in Safari causes Safari to represent itself to websites as IE. It's nothing to do with making websites.
However, your problem is different, and I wish you'd stated exactly what the problem was in the first place.
Download the manual. It will likely be a folder inside which is an Autorun file which indeed will only work with IE and probably IE on Windows at that. However, there should also be an Index file, which is an HTML file.
Drag the index file onto Safari or Firefox (or use the Open With dialogue to navigate to it) and you'll most likely find it will open in a readable form, even if not exactly as its intended to render.
As you can see, I have a car manual in this form, and it works OK in Firefox.

How to get Internet Explorer to ask for Open/Save

For most binary file types, Internet Explorer asks whether you want to open or save the file, and gives you a further choice of skipping that prompt in the future. Nothing I do gives me access to this prompt for PDFs and Adobe Reader. On a computer out of the box, with a fresh installed of Adobe Reader set not to open PDFs in a browser window, a click on a link to a PDF will open automatically in Adobe Reader. It will not prompt me whether I want to open or save the file.
I can edit this choice in the registry for any other type of file. For instance, if I set MP3s to open automatically in Windows Media Player when clicked, and then I change my mind, I can delete a certain key in the registry and I'll be prompted once again. This is not true for PDFs associated with Adobe Reader.
So my question is, how can I get Internet Explorer to prompt me whether I want to open or save the PDF?
I'm using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.
