How to deactivate Kerberos for Network connections?

Hello!
How can I deactivate Kerberos for Network connections?
Greetings

I am not sure why you would want to do that?
The problem is as following:
When I connect to my iMac I type in my username and password and can access the sharepoints.
When I click on Disconnect it seems to disconnect but when I close the Finder window and open it again and click on my iMac icon I am connected although I clicked disconnect!
And I read on a German Mac Forum that this isn't a bug but a feature called Kerberos, so Kerberos is responsible for this.
And when I click disconnect I expect that the system is really disconnecting me and is not holding some kind of secret card in the background.
Thank you

  • How to deactivate asking for age while downloading app

    Hello,
I'm frustrated as each time I download an app, iTunes ask me to confirm that I am 17 y.o.
I already give my age when I install the iPhone, and I don't activate the parental control...
Well... What else ?!!! (as somebody well knowne say's;-)
My problem is, that I am reinstalling ALL MY APP(a lot!!!) and I don't want to stay
in front of my screen all night waiting to clic on ''OK'' ! Wich bloc ALL the downloading until
it's done by the way !
How to deactivate asking for age while downloading app PLEASE ?!
    Thank you

There is no way to deactivate the functionality.  It is specific to certain apps that are being installed.  If you do not like it, do not install those apps or find a different device.

  • Is there a way to test for network connectivity (and a way to simulate it)

Is there a way to test for network connectivity, which API to look into? Also, is there a way to test that code in the simulator, that is, to turn off the network in the simulator.
    Thanks

A peek in the docs would help- there is a TON of information there.

  • How do i maintain a network connection between 2 computers

From time to time I can share my network connection between my iMac and my MacBook Air but frequently the connection is lost. How do I reconnect once the connection is lost?
Is the only choice to restart each computer?
Is it necessary that both computers remain active (not go into sleep mode)?
    Any help?

If you are really sure that you want to map a network drive using Labview then the easiest way to achieve it is probably to use the System Exec.vi.
    Use the NET USE command
    e.g.
    NET USE K: \\server\sharename password /USER:mydomain\username
    Command syntax
    "NET USE
    [devicename | *] [\\computername\sharename[\volume] [password | *]]
            [/USER:[domainname\]username]
            [/USER:[dotted domain name\]username]
            [/USER:[username@dotted domain name]
            [/SMARTCARD]
            [/SAVECRED]
            [[/DELETE] | [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]]
    NET USE {devicename | *} [password | *] /HOME
    NET USE [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]"
Using this command you can then map a network drive using a username and password of your choice to map a drive as you require.
Note also that the user profile used to access the share can be an alternate to the local account (I am thinking domain / cross domain usage here) which is also very handy as you can use, for example, an increased security level for your LabVIEW accessing account!
There is a Microsoft knowledgebase article on the subject here:-

  • How do i fix the network connection??

Every time i try  and sync my ipad to my laptop it comes up the i need to authorise it. I try and authorise it and then it comes up 'Itunes could not connect to the iTunes store. Network connection has timed out. How do i fix this???

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • How to monitor my shared network connection

    Hi,
I have a mac mini server which I'm using (among other things) to share my internet network connection (from the ethernet adapter) with other wireless clients through the wireless adapter. This works fine.
My question is: how do I monitor how many clients are attached to the wireless network?
    Thanks!

The answer to your question also depends on whether you want to monitor which of your friends etc. is online, or whether you want to monitor for malicious users/attackers.
In the first case the DHCP client list ist quite ok, in the second case it wouldn't help you: An attacker would probably not query your DHCP server, he would just listen to some traffic and could then (a) choose a seemingly free IP from the network, (b) hijack an existing IP and MAC address (or of course (c) decide to use the DHCP server after all).
You can use tools like TCPDUMP, ETHEREAL or KISMAC to scan the traffic on your WLAN, but since an attacker that has cracked the WEP key could change his MAC address to that of one of the other computers, intrusion detection is difficult. With respect to protection the best advice probably is the one about using more secure methods than WEP...

  • How can I stop the network connections popup?

In our house we have 4 macs...two of them are new and I set them up by restoring from TimeMachine rather than with the migration tool as I have done in the past. This was recommended to me as a "cleaner" way to set up new machines (at least on an alternating basis).
On these two new machines I get a popup "Do you the application "microsoft word.app" to accept incoming network connections (this is also for excel or any office product). I'm still using Office for Mac 2008.
The only way I can find to stop these annoying popups is to turn off the fire wall, which I do not want to do (and which I have not done on the 2 mac books and they work fine).
Is there some setting or script I can run to fix this?
    thanks,
    tom

    Linc-
I'm taking your advice because I've seen many other great answers from you...but not without some trepidation :-)
This is so weird ... I've set the mac books next to the iMacs and looked at every setting on them...all the same, yet one gets the popup and the other doesn't. I found that it doesn't matter whether I set the firewall to allow or not-allow, the popup is there in both cases.
Do you have any advice on airport settings that I should be changing the defaults to? (other than a good WPA2personal password which I have)?
    thanks again,
    tom

  • How to set proxy for 3G connection?

Can anyone tell me where to set proxy for 3G connection?
I think I've checked every section in Settings but failed to find anything.
    Thanks for your info.

It's part of the cellular settings, and is usually set up by your 3G provider. You can't choose your own proxy server

  • How can I view the Network Connection Log on MacBook?

    Hello everyone!
I want to view the Network Connection Log on my MacBook. I know the Console.app is the app to view the system log but I do not have any idea where is exactly showing when I connect to the network by using the Wi-Fi networking or the Ethernet.
    Anyone get some idea?

You probably won't be able to make sense of it but .. . .
    In terminal use command.

  • How to disable Versions for network shares?

AFP share points with network shares works great, but Versions will lock a file that one user saves, and wont allow another user to overwrite the file because of it. Is there a way to disable Versions for networked files?

Or perhaps even just disable file locking? Lion Server will work great for my organization, but only if I can allow more than one person open and save a file!

  • How do I delete old network connections?

I'm adding some new computers to my network and have discovered a mess of old connections in the network preferences. I'd like to delete the old ones in order to keep things a neat and tidy as I can.
However, I can't seem to find a way to delete them individually.
Is there some way to see all your network connections in a list or something and delete those outdated or no longer needed? I can find them individually using network preferences, but even then there does not seem to be a delete feature.
    G5 Dual 1.8   Mac OS X (10.4)

    Hi--
You can delete locations in the Network Preferences. From the "Location" menu, choose "Edit Locations..." and you'll get a little box with your locations. There's a "Delete" button there. If the "Edit Locations..." menu item is greyed out, just click the little lock in the lower left of the pane to open it, supply your password, and you should be in business.
