Resolution
If you experienced the symptoms above, your cellular phone number might still be registered with iMessage. When you turn iMessage on with your iPhone, iMessage registers your cellular telephone number.
To deregister your phone number, tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
If you can't access your iPhone, you no longer have it, or you can't deactivate iMessage after you try the above steps, please contact Apple Support.

i traded in my iphone at ATT for a Samsung phone and now i cannot receive text messages from my contacts that have iphones. talked with att said that i had to delete my number off the cloud/iphone/imessaging?? how do i do this without buying the 19.99 service support package. also my iphone was set to factory settings when i traded it in.

If you registered your device with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it. Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

Just recently changed mobile number but dont know how to change my number on imessage or facetime

so i have recently changed my mobile number but i have no idea on how to change my number so it works with imessage and facetime rather then them using my email address it should let you do it threw the imessage settings someone please help me

How to deactivate serial number if unable to open Adobe

I bought a new computer and wanted to transfer Adobe CS4 Creative Suite on it (I have unlimited installation for it).
I didn't deactivate correctly the serial number and now that I have unistalled the whole Suite, I cannot install it on my new device.
NOTE: I did try to re-install Adobe but I am now unable to Re-Install it, so I can't do "Adobe > Help > Deactivate"
Is there any way to deactivate serial number other than going into the Help bar inside Adobe software?

HT1495 How to erase another number off of an account

I let my friend use my itunes account awhile ago, but now I dont want her using it. I am trying to figure out how to delete her number so she cannot access it anymore. Also, she did something to the account so everytime I unlock my phone, I have to type the account password in like 5 times. It never used to do that. How do I fix that too?

Try changing you Apple password.

i use my iphone5 - factory unlocked between two countries with two different sim card. When i am in the USA i can use both my both number and email address to send imessage.
I notice when i am in jamaica i can use only my email address to send imessage.
I tried just about everything i see in these forum.
I signed out of my apple ID and started to reactive my imessage. I notice when i am setting up it displayed my local phone number and email address as method person can contact via imessage. however aster clicking ok, i noticed it is still displaying my att phone number. the phone number area is grayed out.
I even update the local number to my apple id.
added the local number also to my contact in the phone.
I tried everything possible
also it s saying "waiting for activation" some time now.

How to merge phone number with imessage on 10.8.2

i updated to 10.8.2 and i had already been using imessage on 10.8.1 and before. i went to imessage and there is no option or alert or anything to add my phone number to it. i use the same apple id on my iphone and receive imessages at both my apple id email address and phone number. i have tried signing out, deleting all my messages, ive tried signing out restarting my macbook pro and signing back in, still nothing. any way to manually set it up or refresh the account?
update: i guess everyone says i need to update my iphone to ios6 first. i'm just going to wait for my iphone5 on friday to set this up as im not yet going to update to ios6 on my 4S

Well, try as I might, and despite the publicity and hype around this and 'It just works' for me it just doesn't. I updated the phone and ipad to IOS 6, MacBook to 10.8.2 and no matter what I do, how many log ins and outs the ipad and the Macbook ONLY give me the option to use one of two email addresses. No phone number option is anywhere to be seen. I did rather expect that I would just actvate imessage on the iphone and then do so on the ipad and macbook, merely having to select the number as the methof of contact, or even having it there as the default. Too much to ask I suppose!! I find I spend far more time trying to get Apple innovation to work than I ever did with Windows to be honest! I also tried entering the phone number many times and go many 'verification sent' only to receive squat.
Sick and tired of trying to fathom this now so I gues I'll just leave it off rather than find myself back in the days of imessage confusion where some would go to a phone, some to an email, messages only being visible on certain devices depending on where they were sent - all the things that made imessage a complete PITA and far more trouble than it was worth.
I hoped that maybe this would fix those problems. Maybe it will, when I can invest the time in digging around the internet trying to get it to 'just work'!

You can disable a "Receive At" item which will in turn remove it from the "Start new conversation from" drop down in the Messages app across Mountain Lion and Mavericks.
You can remove it from the iPhone or other iOS device.
However this will not remove it on either Messages 7.x.x (Mountain Lion) or Messages 8 (Mavericks)
In Mavericks you have to delete the .plist involved to remove the Aliases you don't want (and tend to have to re-enter the Apple ID as well)
With a Finder window Open, use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that now appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
Find com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist and drag it to the Trash
Restart the Messages app

How to remove a number on iMessage?

I recently bought myself a new iPhone 6 on contract from EE here in the UK, this was an upgrade from my iPhone 4s on o2.
I set up my new iPhone 6 using my current apple id, using the sim card and mobile number EE supplied me with when buying the phone. Soon after this I got my PAC code from o2 to transfer my phone number I used on the iPhone 4S to my new phone. By doing this it has deactivated the number I was provided with by EE.
Since this has happened my iMessage is playing up... text messages, although sent from iPhone 6 with my old number, still come up under the temporary number i used on EE. I have tried going onto the iMessage settings and removing this number but it just appears to be greyed out. Any ideas on what I need to do?
I've tried using the apple deregister page but It sends a code to the number i want to deregister which is the EE number which is no longer active or I have access to therefore it will not work?
Any help would be great.

Couple of options:
See if EE can temporarily re activate the old number so that you can complete the de register process
Contact Apple via chat and see if they can help

Simply sign out of iMessage and sign back in using a different ID.
