How to default printing to details view

I upgraded to 10.8 and now every time I print, it defaults to the small window whereas I want the Details view of the print menus by default. 10.6 used to be in Details mode all the time; how do I make it use the Details view of printing options?

If I click on the Show Details button in the print window on my system (10.8.4), it shows the details view in the print window. Once I do that, the next time I print from that same application, it defaults to the details view.
It doesn't default to that if I try printing in a new application that I have not clicked that on though.
When you click on Show Details in the print window and then print again from that same application, does it open with the details view?

Thanks for your help. I did just that and was able to get a much better view with OmniDiskSweeper. I was shocked to find that my MobileSync files were 125 GB of about 270 being used! Guess I shouldn't be surprised with 4 iPhones and 4 iPads syncing to the same iMac at one time or another -- just kind of surprised Apple/iTunes doesn't make it any clearer that this can turn into a big problem if you don't initially create the appropriate backup settings for your devices. You've probably got your stroke and fill both set to none or to.... enable at least one of them... in a colour other than white

After selecting "Print...," you should have an option to select a range of Months:
Next, depending upon your printer options, you may be able to choose "Pages per Sheet."
...and then "Paper Handling."

Screen magnification is a bit different from print magnification. To print an image larger than the original dimensions, you need to set the scaling option in the Print dialog box (provided that your printer supports scaling).

After a support call, I've lowered the brightness on my imac OS 10.6.8 but the prints are darker than ever.
I've calibrated. The printer is an Epson 4900. Photoshop is managing the colors. I did not download the no color management app.

Generally speaking, you may want to learn all about color-management, calibrate and profile your equipment, and make sure you set and use color-management preferences and settings appropriate for your needs for your display and printer.
Most color matching problems are rooted in the fact that the display monitor is not set to display your colors accurately. There is equipment you can use, but a really rough, poor-person's way to get started (or for use in the interim) can be to print an image, then adjust your monitor to make it look as close as possible to your print. Then when you edit your images you'll be preparing them for proper printing. This may involve changing settings on the monitor itself or in the display driver. But I caution you that you many never get things consistent and right without getting your head around what good color-management is all about.
Unfortunately, because of the complexity of the realm, it's proven near impossible to teach color-management one post at a time on a forum, but there are some good references out there. One of our members here, Gary Ballard, has published some good "getting started" info.

I'm trying the trial version of formscentral and have made a form. In this form I used the text (multiline) option. I saved the form as a pdf and filled it out to test it. When I go to print the form the only text that appears is what's visible on the screen. How do I print the form so that all of the information is depicted?

This is something we are working on fixing but in the mean time what you can do is one of two things :
1) make the multiline fields taller so that it would fit all the text in the responses.
      You can do that by going to the Desing Tab and dragging the bottom right corner of a multiline text fields to make them bigger.
2) print the Detail View instead.
      From the View Responses Tab go to View > Detail View.
      Select the response you want to print
      Press on the printer icon at the bottom of the Detail View.
      This will print the data in a name/value pair format.

"Details View" in JFileChooser

When I load my JFileChooser, I want the file listing inside it to default to the "Details View" rather than the "List View".
How do I do that? I know that I have to approach this using the FileChooserUI class...but I couldn't find any methods that let me access the "Details View" and the "List View" buttons.
So how do I do it?

And, finally, I found this forum thread that has all kinds of cute changes to JFileChooser that can be made. In particular, there is a method added to get the Details button. Author says it is "yucky" - I think it is clever.

How to enable detail view interactive report as default for public user?

I'm currently developing a search results page.
I'm trying to do a nice view instead of a default table like view from the interactive reports. So in this case i enabled the detail view so i could make fancy designs.
all worked well and looked neat but however when i pass value from my search page using IR_ROWFILTER and clear the results page using page_no,RIR, it brings me to the interactive reports result page with the default table like view.
i have to press the detail view to get it. i tried saving it as default but it wont work. this issue is for public user.
if i make the page requires authentication, and save the detail view as default i would not have any problem. i could search and it will straightly bring to the detail view of the search page.
of course the other reason i found is because im using the IR_ROWFILTER and clearing page using page_no,RIR..without it,it works well but i need it coz im doing a a search result. i need to send search text from another page and put it in the filter in the search page. i would need to use RIR to clear it for searching again.
is this a limitation for public user? it doesnt happened for authenticated user though..

Do you really need this to be an IR? Other than the detail layout, do you require any of the interactive features? If not, try using a standard report with a custom report template.

The app selects printer for the job as m_Report->PrintOptions->PrinterName = ss_Device;
This works nicely for printouts to the printer, but is ignored by the viewer. There, the machine default printer is always selected when I hit the print button.

All of that above can be changed at runtime, but you'd somehow need to figure out what the default printer driver is on each machine and then assign it to the report.
Yes,but that is exactly what I do. The app normally uses the Windows default printer just as any C++/MFC app will do. On the file menu there is an option to select printer which calls CWinApp::OnFilePrintSetup(); which sets the application default printer setup.
In the app there is a function to retrieve the default printer:

Floater is simply a dialog that holds the Viewer control.
For some reason does the Viewer not obey the printer selection done in the report

Is there a way to set a page template for the detailed view of the news module?
I have a page template setup and added the {module_announcement,,,,,} to the page. When the news item is clicked it always opens the default template - is this how it is designed to work or is there a way I can specify it to use a different page template?

Web Dynpro by default does not provide the option of printing the view content.
However still you have a round about way of doing it. Create the an html page similar to the Web Dynpro page. Store the code into a String variable.
