You need to create a "Parameter Transaction".
What this means is that you will have a transaction (let's call it "ZMAINT") which calls "SM30" and passes in your table name.
Go to transaction SE93 and enter your new transaction code. Enter in the Tcode description and choose "Transaction with Parameters" (it shouldbe the last radio button).
Enter in the default transaction "SM30" and tick the "Skip Initial Screen" check box. Hit Enter.
Now scroll to the bottom of the screen and you will see a Table Control where you will need to enter in the values to the SM30 selection screen.
Because you hit ENTER, the program will have loaded in the Selection Screen parameters into it's memory. Hit the drop down for "Name of Screen Field" and select "VIEWNAME" and then enter in your Z Table in the "Value" column.
Now go to the next line and hit the drop down and select "UPDATE" in the "Name of Screen Field". Enter in a "X" in the value column.
Now save the transaction and there you have it.

While posting document in FB01, we are entering cost centre in line itme. Businee area is picking from cost centre master.
Example : Cost centre 11310 and businee area Y020.
Businee area Y020 is picking from cost centre 11310 while posting document.
I want to assign different business area for this cost centre.
For that I want to define substitution rule.
I have defined substitution rule and activated in comapany code but it is not working. Please guide me how to define Substitution rule for the same.
I have defined prerequisit as Comapny code = 2053 and Cost centre =11310 and transaction code = FB01 then
Substitute business area with Y045.
It is not working .
Please guide me where I did mistake and how to rectify the same.

Why can't we use Substitition for the above issue.

The AP invoice approval used AME rules for finding the approver. You can base you AME rules on virutally anything.
In this particular case, you can base your AME rules on one of the followings:
1. If any of the Distribution Accounts contain Fixed Assets natural account
2. You can define a separate document category which should be used with invoices for FA Purchase and use the category in AME rules to find approver
3. You can have a DFF at the Invoice Header level to indicate that this is a fixed asset purchase invoice and have this DFF to be used in AME rules.

If you want to use user defined colors in the builder, then you need to create a new color palette and use it.
I personally haven't tried it, but there is a section in the online help that describes how to do this.

Fire outbound plug of interface view controller?
Hello Experts-
In my WD project I have two apps A and B.
I need to navigate from app A to app B.
In the interface view controller of app A, I have created an outbound plug called GotoB.
I determine the URL of app B using the WDURLGenerator and store that value in a string.
In a view of the app A I have the code:

For some reason nothing seems to be happening when the event triggers in the view of app A that runs the above code. The view of app A just seems to refresh. The one thing that does happen is that on the refreshed view of app A if I click on the button to trigger this event again I get an 'app A has expired' WAS error.
What am I missing here? How can I make the navigation from app A to app B work?

3) Create application "App1" (package="com.sap.sdn", Web Dynpro component="Component2", the rest - by default)
4) In Component1CWInterfaceView create outbound plug "GoToComp2"
5) In Conponent1CV add Component1CWInterfaceView as required controller
6) In Conponent1CV add button and in action handler put following:

How do I save settings for a View?

Anyone who can help me, it'll be great...
I have created a view in eclipse. When the user opens the eclipse workspace that view is also opened. The user can use the view to search for code. When the workspace is closed the view is saved because the program calls saveState when the workspace closes.
However, when the user has the view open and does a search and then just closes that view (without exiting the workspace) the search criteria that the user previously enters does not save... so when the user opens the view again all the default search criterias are loaded.
What do I use to save the view state?

All I can tell you (I'm just starting out fiddling with this myself) is that FAQ 204 in The official Eclipse FAQ 3.0 is "How does a view persist its state between sessions". It says that you can use the JFace IDialogSettings facility for persisting view state in the case where your view is closed but not the workspace. Is that something you are familiar with? -

Fireing outbound plug of interface view from within component
Hi all,
is there a better way of firing an outbound plug of an wd component interface view than from within the interface view controller itself?
The problem is, that you easly get a cyclic reference if you evaluate inbound component plugs in the interface controller (usage from int view ctrl --> int ctrl needed) and then try to fire an outbound plug from this interface controller (usage comp int --> comp int view usage needed).
One workaround is to use some custom controller with usage of the interface view, but this doesn't seem to be a nice solution.
So is it possible to fire outbound comp plugs from, lets say the component controller - without any usage releation to the comp int view - instead, maybe via wdComponentAPI? If yes, could you provide a code snippet?

this is not possible by using the public API only, i'm afraid. It is of course possible, if you decide to forget about the possible drawbacks of using methods and classes reserved for internal use. But you have to use it at your own risk. I hacked this together some weeks ago, don't know whether it still works
