How to define Interfaces in SAP PI

HI Experts,
I am kind of very new to SAP PI topic and hear we doing an new SAP implementation project where the existing infrastructure is transformed to SAP.
So , in this process we have analyze the different existing interfaces like which one should pass through PI and which doesn't.
hear my question is how exactly we define the PI interfaces and differentiate them with regular user interfaces and database interfaces.

I am writing a Cocoa-Python application but I couldn't find a way to define outlets in Python code that I can use in the Interface Builder. Of course I know how to do that in Objective-C and this doc http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/RubyPythonCocoa/Articl es/BuildingRubyCocoaAppl.html explains how to create outlets in Ruby, but what about Python?

This is a pretty broad question. You must use inspection plans and have workcenter set up for use. The workcenter must have a QDR system defined for it.
The QR systems are configured in SPRO. QM>Quality inspection>Subsystems-->Process Quality Inspection using QM-IDI interface.
You might need some help from your BASIS people to complete the config.
You should ask your WinLIMS vendor for assistance. They've done it before and should be able to help you.

Am writing a custom PERFORM in a standard SAP include-RVCOMFZZ by using modification assistant, like below,
RVCOMFZZ:
PERFORM my_routine IN PROGRAM my_report USING com_vbapvb.
(here com_vbapvb is a TABLES parameter with STRUCTURE of vbapvb in the std. sap FM).
my_report:
FORM my_routine USING here_I_want_to_know_the_data_object

Here pls. let me know How to define the FORMAL parameters of my_routine? I tried with different options, but did not worked out. Preferable let me know in OOPS concepts (not using TABLES)

FORM my_routine USING here_I_want_to_know_the_data_object.

    assign COMPONENT sy-index of structure ls_VBAPVB to <field>.

But at the end when I am creating the application for the DC, I am not able to figure it out how to define the application parameter 'sap.xss.BaseConfigurationID' for the application. Pick a representative file.
Get info. (Command-i)
There you will see a place "Open with" where you can select the application for that file.
Hit the "Change all..." button to do this for all files of this type.

How to configure SolMan for interfacing with SAP Quality Center

Hello everyone,
Our company has only recently acquired and activated the permanent license for SAP Quality Center by HP. We would like QC to interface with SAP Solution Manager. My question is how to perform the configuration steps to make the interface work with Quality Center? I need to set up the IMG addon SM_QC_AD, which can be found under the transaction SPRO, but I need documentation on which steps to take and why.
I am often referred to SAP note 1059350 and/or the configuration guide, but these only say that I should configure the IMG but not how.
There is a SAP tutor available on the service marketplace, but I think it's rather uninformative.
Can I find better documentation elsewhere?

for ex. IF you add the UDF in Marketing Document(Sales/Purchase)
1. Goto the UDF (or) any Default(Original) Field and Click ShiftAltF2.
2. Select the SEARCH BY SAVED QUERY.
3. Assign the FMS Query.
4. Select the AUTO REFRESH WHEN FIELD CHENGES.
5. Select the require Auto refresh field
6. Check the Refresh Regularly (or) Display Saved Values.

I need an interface code to make an interface between barcode printer with SAP B1. i got a scenario from the barcode people. that they are using EPL coding only for Barcode printer print, there they need to run this EPL code in Dos mode, for that .bat file is needed. hope you might got some idea that how a barcode printer is working. now how to make an interface of SAP B1 with Barcode printer.
how to generate a code which will put the bar code and price with the AP invoice of the item in EPL code which is in a text format. so that by .bat format txt file should be run in dos mode.
if you have any other process to run the EPL code, kindly send me the details as soon as possible....its very urgent.

I think what you may be more concerned about, rather than the printer "language" (ZPL, EPL, etc...) is the symbology that you require for barcodes. Like 3of9, code 128, etc.
The standard B1 PLD will input a barcode image for whatever field you specify, but only in a couple of symbologies. The Advanced Layout Designer apparently supports a lot more. I have read that it may be requested from you partner, or if on 2007, it is part of the standard install.
B1 should pass the bar code to the printer, where the printer's language will decode and print it out. Bypass the .bat file, bypass DOS, let B1 do it.

By interface, I assume you mean the connection between the ABAP and the Java stacks in a double stack system.
The connection from Java to ABAP is through JCo connections defined in the WebDynpro section of the J2EE start page. So Java to ABAP requests are processed through JCo.
The connection from ABAP to Java is through RFC connections defined in TA SM59. The ABAP to Java requests are processed through RFC.

The UME can be maintained in either ABAP or in JAVA depending on the persistence.

You can use XI as a connector instead of ALE to connect mySAP ERP to SAP Business One. The DI API is the connector for SAP Business One.
The DI API or Data Interface API is part of Business One and the Business One SDK. B1i exists to easily connect mySAP and SAP Business One without typical coding that would be required simply by using XI to connect with SAP Business One and mySAP. B1i contains all of the connections, pre-defined content, message handling and error correction for common business scenarios to connect these to systems. Without B1i, you have to hand code everything. If you are not connecting with SAP Business One, then you may not have a need or requirement to use B1i. There are more detailed whitepapers here from the SAP Business One main page on SDN. You should have a look at those.
