How to define source value for filtered recordset (ASP)
Hi,
I'm using ASP & CS4. I have a search page which upon submission sends form parameters to a results page. The results page matches the search parameters to a recordset and returns the appropriate record/s.
How can I take one of the values from the returned filtered recordset (which wasn't one of the original variables/parameters), and use it as a value to filter another recordset from another table? Do I have to create a parameter from that value, or can it be done in a SQL statement?

How many results are returned from the first recordset? Where is the second recordset to be displayed?
If the first RS returns a single row and the second RS is displayed on the same page, you don't need to create anything. Just use the value of the column you want in the SQL statement. If you need to pass the value to another page, you can either set a session variable or pass the value in the querystring.

Data source value for data source reportData was null
hi i'm using struts 2 and jasperreports my problem is
it generate a pdf file with labels but no data in it..
and when i try to look at the logs of my sun application server
it says Data source value for datasource reportData was null.
reportData is an ArrayList of Personnel object.

Looking at the code, it seems you are compiling a JRXML and that is all.
Instead, you should fill it with data and then export the result to PDF.
No wonder you don't see any result.
You need to learn more about how JasperReports work. For a start, I can tell you that you could compile JRXML files as part of the application build process using an Ant task, and not dynamically, like you did. But no matter how you compile the report template, you actually need to fill it with data, using the JasperFillManager and then export it to PDF using the JasperExportManager.
You can see all this in our samples in the /demo/samples folder that is part of our project distribution package. There is even a sample Web application in the /demo/samples/webapp folder.

Yes, to simplify, I left out some of the additional XML data, which is typically present, sorry for any confusion. I should have removed those references to that data in my example which was failing to retrieve the NCESCode data which was denoted by that namespace.
Thank you very much! Your correction worked. I was not understanding until your correction how to properly reference in the XPATH for that namespace value. I'm a newbie at this, and this is my second post. But I've been able to populate quite a few relational tables and that was the first of several namespace tags I will have to deal with next, and with that help, I should be good with that syntax now.

Using customizing for text schema, it is possible to define fixed values for texts from SRM document.
Nevertheless, when you define fixed values for a transaction type, field "Fixed Value for a Text" is a CHAR30 data type.
Is there a way to add a customer field in order to use it in the drop-down list instead of the standard one ?
Our aim is to have at header PO level a specific document text and to transmit it to R/3, but those texts can go to CHAR80.
Previously, i tried to add my specific document text (using a specific search-help) into the text area (in this case, i don't have any fixed values) which is CONTAINER_LONGTEXT.
But this field is an implementation class, and i don't know how to populate this area.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I set a default value of "ME21N" TO "S21" at Define Default Values for Document Type.
But, default document type is not "S21" but "NB" in ME21N
( system ver. 710)

How to set default values for boolean columns
I'm trying to deploy some content types and columns into a site with a feature. All it's ok, except that I'm trying to set a default value for boolean columns with no success.
I've tried to set default value at column level:

also, you are referring to DTS. DTS is legacy solution now..are you using sql 2000, you can use ssis, if you want and it available in sql 2005. as said, there are multiple ways you can do this.. it find the below one a easy solution, since your are

How to calculate acquisition value for specified day

in my z program I have a problem how to calculate acquisition value for my asset for specified day.
Example:
I have asset created 8.7.2008 with TTYPE 104 (External asset acquisition) with value 5950.
30.11.2008 there is another TTYPE 272 (Retirement of current-yr acquis., w/o revenue) with value 950.
So BEFORE 30.11.2008 acquisition value is 5950. After is 5000. Is there any function module (or something else) in SAP system where I can send asset number and date a it return to me acquisition value for that day?

I want to assign different business area for this cost centre.
For that I want to define substitution rule.
I have defined substitution rule and activated in comapany code but it is not working. Please guide me how to define Substitution rule for the same.
I have defined prerequisit as Comapny code = 2053 and Cost centre =11310 and transaction code = FB01 then
Substitute business area with Y045.
It is not working .
Please guide me where I did mistake and how to rectify the same.

The AP invoice approval used AME rules for finding the approver. You can base you AME rules on virutally anything.
In this particular case, you can base your AME rules on one of the followings:
1. If any of the Distribution Accounts contain Fixed Assets natural account
2. You can define a separate document category which should be used with invoices for FA Purchase and use the category in AME rules to find approver
3. You can have a DFF at the Invoice Header level to indicate that this is a fixed asset purchase invoice and have this DFF to be used in AME rules.
