How to deinstall interMedia?

I'm managing an Oracle8i Db where interMedia was installed for an error.
Now the Db instance have many schemas used by interMedia (CTXSYS, MDSYS, ORDPLUGINS and ORDSYS).
I'd like to disinstall/deactivate interMedia option in this instance?
- Do I have to manually drop interMedia schema?
- Do I have to disinstall interMedia Software form Universal Installer?
How should I do???
null

I think your only option is to use remove it with Universal Installer.

  • How to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0

    Dear Pro.
I wondered how to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0 from Windows 2000. although i tried using Developer 6.0 CD to deinstalled the products, but after i clicked the remove button. whole windows is gone. using Oracle 8 CD doesn't work too.
could i just delete the folder which contains developer 6.0, will it work? should i change some path or some data in the configuration file?
thank you for reading the questions.

IMO there is just one way that works:
    - first step: look for running forms services (forms server or more), stop them
    - second step: go to the registry, erase the whole key: hkey_local_machine/software/oracle
-delete the whole directory with forms.
Its brute force, I know; but it works within 5 minutes!!

  • How to Deinstall And Install OEM again

    hi Experts,
Can somebody pls explain me how to deinstall and install OEM. ????
I can not view any options in OEM. it referes a incorret machine name.

    DBMS Direct ,
As u mentioned emca didn't work for me.
when I issued the command it gave me the following ...
Oracle@DB1 $ emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
    Incorrect usage:
    oracle.sysman.emcp.EMConfigAssistant [options] [list of parameters]
    Options:
-a :configure for an ASM database
    -b :configure for automatic backup
    -c :configure a cluster database
-e <node> :remove a node from the cluster
-f <file> :specify the file name that contains parameter values
    -h :help
-m :configure EM for a central agent
-n <node> :add a new node to the cluster
-r :skip creation of repository schema
-s :silent mode (no user prompts
-x <db> :deletion of a SID or DB
-RMI_PORT <port> :specify the RMI port for DB Control
-JMS_PORT <port> :specify the JMS port for DB Control
-AGENT_PORT <port> :specify the EM agent port
-DBCONSOLE_HTTP_PORT <port> :specify the DB Control HTTP port
The script will prompt for any required data that is not specified in a configuration file. The script always prompts for all required passwords. If you use a configuration file, the file may contain any of the following specifications, as shown, with the specified values correctly filled in:
And there is more to this msg.
So I think manually droping sysman would work.
    So issuing only
    drop user sysman cascade;
whould be enough ??? or do I have to do anything else ????
And after that how do I recreate it ....???
    Is it using ,
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos create.
or using some other way ????

  • How to deinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE completely

Hi there! As I had a problem with 5.0 LE (there was no reaction after installation), I felt forced to deinstalled it again (unfortunately without using the Photoshop deinstallation tool of Adobe) and during deinstallation I was asked if I surely want to remove some files (I think the  files had to do with color values)... I didn't dare to remove them, and clicked on "No to all"... however, if I want to reinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE, do I have to remove those files manually first? If so, HOW can I detect them if I don't know their names, and HOW can I safely remove them?
Help would be very appreciated, many thanks!
    C.C.

no, you don't have to remove those files.

  • How to deinstall OMS10g binaries after OMS11g upgrade

    I've upgraded Grid Control from 10.2.0.5 -> 11.1.0 on our RHEL5 server.
I now want to deinstall OMS10g, but when I run the installer, I don't see an OMS10g home in the list of homes available (I only see my 11g database, and OMS11g homes).
The 10.2 Grid Control docs say I can run the $ORACLE_HOME/install/deinstall/Deinstall.pl command, but it indicates it will deinstall the database as well, so that isn't an option.
If I must do this manually, I presume I can remove the OMS10g home and subdirectories, and any linux startup scripts.
Can someone explain what step(s) need to be done to cleanly remove it from the Oracle Inventory?
If there is some other preferred way to deinstall, please also advise.

Well, no,... I'm not going to remove my Oracle db home...
Yes, I could rm -rf my OMS10g home, but how do I remove the Oracle Inventory entries cleanly? Is there a doc somewhere which outlines this?,... or don't I need to be concerned about the Oracle Inventory?

  • How to deinstall itunes 5.0.1(4)

I need to deinstall itunes 5.0.1 (4) and don't know how to do it. I don't like how the program changed and it works muchslower than the old version could anyone can help me and tell how to come back to my previous version. I shouldn't upgraded it. But maybe there is a way to get it back.
    thanx
    stan
it's curious I have to ask abut it again because my previous posts disappeard. I wonder why?

Not possible since the iTunes 5 Music Library is not compatible with iTunes 4.9. You may be able to find the older version of the iTunes music library and restore it, however.

  • How to deinstall AAM Update Notifier

    Hi,
when there is an update published, I have two notifier in my menuebar.
The old aam updater and the new CC updater. I think, I need only the CC Updater.
How can I deinstall the old aam update notifier?
OS 10.8.4, only CC-Apps and Lightroom 5 installed.
    Many thanks in advance!

    Nop.
If I click (or option click) on the non-Creative Cloud one, I have the option to open the Updater. When I do this, the Creative Cloud Updater (on the right) open for a single moment - like a flash ... thats all.

  • How to deinstall dbconsole?

    Hello -
How can I deinstall the dbconsole application and repository, then reinstall it?
    Thanks

From Note 278100.1 "How To Drop, Create And Recreate DB Control In A 10g Database":
(1)Delete DB Control Configuration Files and Repository Objects using EMCA
For DB Control 10.1.x, dropping both the configuration files and the repository objects is a two step process. Run the following two commands:
    <ORACLE_HOME>/bin/emca -x <sid>
    <ORACLE_HOME>/sysman/admin/emdrep/bin/RepManager <hostname> <listener_port> <sid> -action drop
For DB Control 10.2.x, both configuration files and repository objects can be deleted with a single command. Run the command:
<ORACLE_HOME>/bin/emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
(2)Create the DB Control Repository Objects and Configuration Files
For DB Control 10.1.x, run the command: <ORACLE_HOME>/bin/emca

  • How to deinstall Ora9i in AIX

    Hi dear friends,
    I have Installed both 10g R1 and 9i R2 oracle db on AIX 5L.
Now, i want to remove/deinstall 9i R2 to save space.
I run the 10gR2 installer and check for product remove options.
I click the home for Ora9i db but the remove button wont highlight.
It said that I cannot deinstall this time coz there might be some
    dependencies violated?
How can I deinstall this please ....
Should I just force remove the Oracle9i home directory using "rm -r"?
    Pls help,
Thanks a lot in advance and Merry Christmas to All

    you MUST use
    /app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1/oui/bin/runInstaller
where /app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1 is your 10gR2 home
