How to deinstall my oracle

sir, I have installed oracle 8i personal in my pc. now I want to deinstall it,
how can I remove completely , it is not showing the oracle if I open add/remove programs. If I remove physically from the folder, the registry it shows the
intalled oracle.
how can I remove , please help me out in this regard.

I have the same problem - I installed 8.1.7 on my laptop to go on a business trip for my last client... now I no longer work at the same place, I don't have the Oracle disk and I need to remove Oracle as I need the space (1.5GB) on my laptop.
Anyone got any idea how I can do this? Is there a stand-alone Oracle uninstaller available to download anywhere? (I couldn't find it and I'd be surprised if there was!)
Why on earth Oracle can't allow uninstalling to happen from the Control Panel like practically all other windows software I just don't know!!
If anyone has some tips or can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful!

I wondered how to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0 from Windows 2000. although i tried using Developer 6.0 CD to deinstalled the products, but after i clicked the remove button. whole windows is gone. using Oracle 8 CD doesn't work too.
could i just delete the folder which contains developer 6.0, will it work? should i change some path or some data in the configuration file?

IMO there is just one way that works:
- first step: look for running forms services (forms server or more), stop them
- second step: go to the registry, erase the whole key: hkey_local_machine/software/oracle
-delete the whole directory with forms.
Its brute force, I know; but it works within 5 minutes!!

How to Deinstall Oracle 9i

Hi all,
I tried to install Oracle 9i into my laptop yesterday but its giving me an error and I stopped installation but unfortunatly Oracle created its service in services and also created all folders in programe files and Oracle home. When I tried to deinstall through Oracle universal installer its not showing blank in install products but I physically can see the files and oracle service.
When I try to install again from the begining its giving me an error saying Oracle 9i service cannot be created. Service already exists.
So what Do I do now. How can I deinsatll all the Oracle products and clear my PC registry as well.

How to deinstall Oracle Developer 2000 6i and again install properly

My HDD is partitioned as C,D,E and F. Oracle 9i is successfully installed in my system in C:\ drive (C:\oracle)and it's running fine. when i was going to install Oracle Developer 2000 6i in F:\ drive it dint show neither any error message nor message like successfully installed but all icons are there. when i was started the forms buider it's showing " ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name" error. how to run forms builder? i have installed in XP. should i deinstall Oracle Developer 2000 6i? if yes, how to deinstall that and how to install it properly?
should i install oracle 9i database before and then oracle developer 2000 6i or vice versa???

How to upgrade the Oracle Client silently ?

Hi all,
I have to upgrade the Oracle Client from 8.1.6.0.0 to 9.2.0.1.0.
I use the -record option for creating the destination file or edit the response file manually for being able to install the new client. But I have no idea, how to remove the old client.
The following command doesn't work:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\oui\install\setup.exe" -deinstall DEINSTALL_LIST={"oracle.client","8.1.6.0.0"}
What am I doing wrong? How to remove the Oracle Client silently?

You still have to manually update/remove the PATH & TNS_ADMIN environment variables and the file system directories.

Without RAC, you can only have one instance manage the database. One instance = one set of processes communicating via IPC.
Unless you know of a way to have processes use memory-based IPC across nodes, you need to pick a node and install & run the database software on that node.

It sounds like you are not properly connecting to the back end Oracle instance when Lite attempts to install the Mobile Server Repository.
Before attempting a re-install, why don't you try connecting to the same instance using SQL/Plus with the a connect string specifying hostname:1521:SID. If you are not able to connect you need to determine why.

The only way you can get 9iR1 release software is by asking it to your Oracle representative. The oldest 9i release available for public download is 9iR2.
You could try the administrative 9iR2 client, it can work with 9iR1 releases.
