How to deinstall Ora9i in AIX

Hi dear friends,
I have Installed both 10g R1 and 9i R2 oracle db on AIX 5L.
Now, i want to remove/deinstall 9i R2 to save space.
I run the 10gR2 installer and check for product remove options.
I click the home for Ora9i db but the remove button wont highlight.
It said that I cannot deinstall this time coz there might be some
dependencies violated?
How can I deinstall this please ....
Should I just force remove the Oracle9i home directory using "rm -r"?

you MUST use
/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1/oui/bin/runInstaller
where /app/oracle/product/10.2.0.1 is your 10gR2 home

I wondered how to deinstall Oracle Developer 6.0 from Windows 2000. although i tried using Developer 6.0 CD to deinstalled the products, but after i clicked the remove button. whole windows is gone. using Oracle 8 CD doesn't work too.
could i just delete the folder which contains developer 6.0, will it work? should i change some path or some data in the configuration file?

IMO there is just one way that works:
- first step: look for running forms services (forms server or more), stop them
- second step: go to the registry, erase the whole key: hkey_local_machine/software/oracle
-delete the whole directory with forms.
Its brute force, I know; but it works within 5 minutes!!

I have started to uninstall it but where i hanged is where in the command prompt to : Specify all Single Instance listeners that are to be de-configured [LISTENER]:

How to deinstall Oracle Developer 2000 6i and again install properly

My HDD is partitioned as C,D,E and F. Oracle 9i is successfully installed in my system in C:\ drive (C:\oracle)and it's running fine. when i was going to install Oracle Developer 2000 6i in F:\ drive it dint show neither any error message nor message like successfully installed but all icons are there. when i was started the forms buider it's showing " ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name" error. how to run forms builder? i have installed in XP. should i deinstall Oracle Developer 2000 6i? if yes, how to deinstall that and how to install it properly?
should i install oracle 9i database before and then oracle developer 2000 6i or vice versa???

And after that how do I recreate it ....???

Hi Gurus,
Please let me know how to configure domain in AIX environment. I don't have much expertize in AIX.
Scenario is I already installed an BI with EP on AIX 5.3/ Oracle 10.2 system. Now I have to configure icm/_host_name_full(fully qualified host names). But I don't know how to configure my system in the domain .
I know it how to manage @ SAP level but not know how to configure it on OS level.

No, it is not. Filename magic alone will not do the job.
AIX supports NFS (network file system) or you can use samba (implementation of the Microsoft SMB protocol to share resources in Un*x) .

How to deinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE completely

Hi there! As I had a problem with 5.0 LE (there was no reaction after installation), I felt forced to deinstalled it again (unfortunately without using the Photoshop deinstallation tool of Adobe) and during deinstallation I was asked if I surely want to remove some files (I think the files had to do with color values)... I didn't dare to remove them, and clicked on "No to all"... however, if I want to reinstall Photoshop 5.0 LE, do I have to remove those files manually first? If so, HOW can I detect them if I don't know their names, and HOW can I safely remove them?

I tried to install Oracle 9i into my laptop yesterday but its giving me an error and I stopped installation but unfortunatly Oracle created its service in services and also created all folders in programe files and Oracle home. When I tried to deinstall through Oracle universal installer its not showing blank in install products but I physically can see the files and oracle service.
When I try to install again from the begining its giving me an error saying Oracle 9i service cannot be created. Service already exists.
So what Do I do now. How can I deinsatll all the Oracle products and clear my PC registry as well.

How to deinstall OMS10g binaries after OMS11g upgrade

I've upgraded Grid Control from 10.2.0.5 -> 11.1.0 on our RHEL5 server.
I now want to deinstall OMS10g, but when I run the installer, I don't see an OMS10g home in the list of homes available (I only see my 11g database, and OMS11g homes).
The 10.2 Grid Control docs say I can run the $ORACLE_HOME/install/deinstall/Deinstall.pl command, but it indicates it will deinstall the database as well, so that isn't an option.
If I must do this manually, I presume I can remove the OMS10g home and subdirectories, and any linux startup scripts.
Can someone explain what step(s) need to be done to cleanly remove it from the Oracle Inventory?
If there is some other preferred way to deinstall, please also advise.

Yes, I could rm -rf my OMS10g home, but how do I remove the Oracle Inventory entries cleanly? Is there a doc somewhere which outlines this?,... or don't I need to be concerned about the Oracle Inventory?

Not possible since the iTunes 5 Music Library is not compatible with iTunes 4.9. You may be able to find the older version of the iTunes music library and restore it, however.
