How to delet songs

how to delet songs on the i touch ?!?!

You unsync them from the iPod except for iTunes purchased music in localities that have iCloud.  For the latter you go to Music app>Playlist>Purchased and highlight and delete

Our daughter figured out on her own how to delete songs and apps from her IPAD2. Drives us crazy since we continually have to reload these files. Her parents would like to know
    1. how she did it (delete files) and
    2. how to prevent her from deleting files in the future.

I know you already solved this but for future reference, there is also another setting to only keep songs downloaded to your device visible in music.
Go to Settings --> Music --> Show All Music and make sure it is turned off

how you delete song in icloud?

Im not sure what I swipe.  There were songs on my iPhone and iPod that I wanted to delete.  I deleted them out of my computer and then Sync it with the Ipod and Iphone.  There was one song that I downloaded for Free on ITunes and it will not delete out on my iPhone,  Its driving me craaaazzzy.  I figured that the song was backed up in my iCloud account and that is why it was still appearing on my Iphone.  Life is not simple.

  • Please someone tell me how to delete songs from the newest/latest verison of Itunes! You can't just right click anymore... :(

So I have the latest version of Itunes and I can't figure out how to delete songs from Itunes when my IPad mini is connected; it's not like it was before when all you had to do was right click and select the delete option...

  • I see how to delete songs from iPad, but there are some that won't give me the option to delete when I swipe it. Why won't it let me?

I see how to delete songs from iPad, but there are some songs that don't give me the option to delete when I swipe them. Why can't I get rid of these songs?

Do they have a cloud icon next to them? If they do, they aren't on the iPad so you can't delete them. They are in iCloud ready for you to download them if you want to and they are visible in the music app for this purpose.
If you don't want to see these songs that are in iCloud, go to Settings> iTunes & App Store>Show all>Music>Off.

How to delete songs on my Ipod nano

Launch iTunes.  Remove the songs you do not want from the list of music you will sync.  When you get only the songs you want selected in iTunes, re-sync your iPod nano with your iTunes and the song will go away.
If you need to post back for more help, also tell us which generation of iPod nano, what computer and OS, and which iTunes version you are using

    what do i do?

You must have a counterfeit iPod since that latest model sold by Apple is the 5G.
Assuming y have a 5G with iOS 7, that means those songs are available for download via iCloud. To download just tap on the song/icon when an internet connection is availalbe.
Of yo do not want those to show, go to Settings>iTunes and App Store>SOW ALL and turn off Music.

  • How to delete songs from iPod touch 5th generation

How do I delete songs from an iPod Touch 5th genration. We tried many other forums with the swiping method, but when we tried it, a picture of a cloud with a red arrow appeared after tapping the delete button appeared and the song remained.

Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and turn off Show All. That way only downloaded songs will show in the Music app.

  • How to delete songs from iPod?

I just got my replacement iPod today after my other one went kaputt. Everything works nicely and iTunes FINALLY recognizes my new Nano but..
...how do I go about deleting songs and adding more to my iPod? When I plugged it in, the iTunes program automatically downloaded ALL the files I had in iTunes to my iPod but I don't want all that stuff in there.
I tried to delete and add stuff to the Nano but for some reason, my music database thingy is "lightly shaded gray" and I can't click on anything.
Normally, i'd right-click on something and clear it but that's not working with my Nano. Any help?

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. Managing Your Songs Manually
One thing to remember about manually updating though is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • How to delete songs (purchased from wifi itunes store) finally?

    Hello,
i have recently purchased some songs from the wifi itunes store on my iPod touch, but i don't want them on my iPod and in my iTunes anymore. I already deleted them from my iTunes, but every time i sync it, the songs keep coming back to my iTunes instead of deleting it from my iPod.
My iTunes settings are set to not automatically download any purchases as well as the store settings on my iPod for automatic downloads are off.
If I sync my iPod with my iTunes library, I get the question whether I want to transfer the purchases to my library and if not, they'll be deleted from my iPod. As this is exactly what i want, I ticked "don't transfer purchases".
But these songs still keep coming back to my itunes library!
Can anyone please help how to delete these songs? Thanks a lot in advance!
    iTunes for Windows 7: 10.5.1.
    iPod touch 4G 8GB iOS 5.0.1.

I think you have to remove the same song manually from any device this is transferred to before the next sync.
I know this is annoying and makes things complicated. Apple should look into this and find a "simple" and "elegant" solution about this (and other similar syncing issues) cause if you have more than 2 devices is hard to manage them and Apple was supposed to make things "simple" and not complicated and harder to manage.

  • How to delete songs using ios 7

How do I delete songs on both my iPhone5c using IOS 7 and on my iTunes account?

To delete tracks in the Music app, navigate to any view that shows you a list of songs, swipe to  the left, tap Delete.
You can't remove purchases completely from your itunes account (music or apps), but youcan hide them using itunes installed on a computer. On teh iPhone, if you do not wish to see purchased track in the Music app view: Settings app > Music > Show All Music (turn OFF).

  • How to delete songs with ios 7

I don't know how to delete my songs that I want to delete on my  music

    Everyone,
In order to delete some of the songs that are not delete(able?) you have to first re-download them from the cloud. There just seems to be some confusion with the itunes match having songs show up that are not actually on your machine therefore, you aren't able to delte them.
-'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
-delete all the songs you are able to download.
-make a note of all teh songs you can't and then,
-'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-go back to iTunes on your device and re-download (click on the cloud icon) all the songs you noted in the last step
-Once they're all downloaded on to your device,
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
and the songs you donwloaded should be the only ones showing up.
-Delete those and you should have a "media on deivce" or something
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-and you should have a clean iTunes Match library.
