How to delete a Database view?

HI Everyone,
Created a Database in ECC to get the bank details from two tables BNKA and BKPF,
but now I wanted to delete this View. Can someone tell me how to delete the Database view?

Goto SE11 > select radio button for view > type view name > press delete icon in top menu (where you have icons for activate, check etc).

How to delete unwanted databases that keep coming back?

Hi,
Besides the usual Google mail database I have somehow acquired 2 other databases that I want to get rid off because I don't trust them.
The first is the one a lot of other people seem to have as well RLDGUID and the other one is from a blog I visited. It's called sql-evercookie.
I know how to delete the databases but when i do that they just pop back up. I have tried a lot of things, there isn't much you can do, I delete all my cookies, cache and history, rebooted the iPad. Nothing works. There must be a way to get rid of them right?
I especially upset about the sql one. It's from a friend's blog who hired a company to design her a ' professional' blog. Why that has to include putiing databases on people's devices I don't know but I sure will ask. In the mean time I want it gone.
Anyone has any ideas?

So you never received a response to this? Did you ever get an answer. I just found some on my original...not ipad2.

How to delete a database record by using EJB entity beans

Hi, All,
Does anyone know how to use entity bean to delete a database record? I have all the EJB entity beans created, including access beans to each. I can successfully create records, find and update records, however, I haven't find a way to delete records yet.

how to create database view with example.

Hi,
1. Go to se11
2. click the view radio button and give the new object name
3. Then you will be prompted to select one among 4 more views
4. Select database view then enter.
5.Give short description
6. Click the Table/Join conditions tab then give the table names which are going to be joined.
note: we can have only inner join with the database view.
7. Give the table names as mara,marc,makt under tables
8. Then in the adjacent area that is in Join conditions just give
mara-matnr = marc-matnr
marc-matnr = makt-matnr
9. Then click the tab View flds, give the field names whichever you want to fetch from the tables as just like the ineer join in the select query as like follows.
matnr -> mara -> matnr
werks -> marc -> werks
maktx -> makt -> maktx
10. Then save and activate.

How to Delete a Database on ASM

I am trying to delete a database which seems to be on ASM but I get the errors below. I have limited exposure on ASM so not sure how to proceed. Can someone help?

Cause: An error occurred while trying to identify a file.
Action: Check the error stack for detailed information.
issue (Metalink Note 390591.1). We encountered similar issue in Linux RAC cluster and has been resoled by following this note.
Cause
=====
Installing the 10.2.0.2 patchset in a RAC installation on any Unix platform does not correctly update the libknlopt.a file on all nodes. The local node where the installer is run does update libknlopt.a but remote nodes do not get the updated file. This can lead to dumps or internal errors on the remote nodes if Oracle is subsequently relinked.
Solution
========
There are two solutions for this problem:
1) Manual copy of the "libknlopt.a" library to the offending nodes :
- ensure all instances are shut down
- manually copy $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib/libknlopt.a from the local node to all remote nodes
- relink Oracle on all nodes :
make -f ins_rdbms.mk ioracle
2) Install the patchset on every node using the "-local" option:
On Unix:
runInstaller -updateNodeList -local ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME CLUSTER_NODES=node1,node2,...
On Windows:
setup.exe -updateNodeList -local ORACLE_HOME=%ORACLE_HOME% CLUSTER_NODES=node1,node2,...
ORA-10577: Can not invoke test recovery for managed standby database recovery
Cause: Test recovery option is used for managed standby database recovery.
Action: Either remove the test recovery option or invoke manual test standby database recovery

How does one delete bookmark and view in Bi 7?
In old version view could be deleted from bex analyzer and bookmarks from reporting agent.But the new version analyzer does not provide view functionality.

In order to remove the old bookmarks from the open/save prompt, you have to login to your portal and go to:
Content Admin -> KM Content -> KM Content
To delete bookmarks in the BEx Portfolio tab: (These are bookmarks accesible by all users)
Root -> documents -> Public Documents
Tick the boomarks you want to delete the go Selection -> Delete
To delete bookmarks in the Favorites Portfolio tab: (These bookmarks are user specific)
Root -> userhome -> Select username -> Favorites
Tick the bookmarks you want to delete the go Selection -> Delete

Generaly messages are stuck in the queue and get a status called "HOLD" if we are using a EOIO (Exactly Once In Order) message processing manner.
For processing of these messages they use a unique queue and all the messages use this queue.
If a message in this queue fails to process then the rest of the messages those are sequentialy under this failed message get a status HOLD.
Steps:- You need to find out the message in that queue that is in the "system error"   status during a long time interval.
            If possible cancel the message (we need to cancel the message) in "system error".
            after this the entire queue will be cleared and the messages those are in the HOLD status will be cleared also.
you need to find out the system error message using the "conversation ID" ( it refers the queue name for the EOIO processng) and the "sequential number" ( it is the sequence of messages in the queue ) in the Message Monitoring of RWB (Adapter Engine).

Universes versus database views

why would we use universes versus database views to store sql/formulas/calculations (other than the fact WEBI has to use it)? this is assuming crystal reports only

I am a big supporter of using Crystal Reports. I've been using Crystal for a while.
However, there is a difference between using universes and database views. I tend to use stored procedures more than I would a database view just because it is using the compiled code. However, if you use a database view and need to add a command, you will get a plain dialog box asking for SQL and parameters.
If you are using a universe and add a command, you are going to get the Business Objects query panel. With this query panel, you can add a combined query, add a sub query, look at the SQL, add fields, set whether you want to see unique values and designate how many rows are returned.
All this can be done using SQL. However, the difference is for those that can't access the database when they want. They would have to have permissions (and the know how) to modify the database view as they want or create a new one. If a universe has been set up for them, they can manipulate the universe as they want.
If order to use a database view and add a command, you would have to know the SQL pretty well to do the same things. Not a pretty GUI to use.

Actually i want to delete the jobs from the Url below
http://xyz:7778/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=testreport which gives all the jobs when u click on anyone job it open the pdf file which is stored in cache i want this job to be deleted including the file.
I think there is a target.xml file which show the job in IAS OEM for a report server if the report server is added in target.xml from oem we can delete the jobid and file.
where should i go to see the report server in oem?

You cannot create the Database view with namespace M_Z any custom objects should be created with Y/Z/ if you want to create the Objects using other than these namespace..you need have access key from SAP.
You need to buy the Namespace from SAP to create the custom object M_Z*

Delete material master view

The work scheduling view was created due to the BDC program. This view is not required. Can anyone suggest how to delete this particular view keeping the rest as-it-is.

Hi!
It's completely up to you how you delete a database. You may do it with OS rm command without any problems. Another way that is as safe as the rm command is the database configuration assistant that is also able to delete your DB. It is also possible to delete your DB with the DROP DATABASE commando from SQL*Plus. As I know there is no big difference in all three ways. My favorite way to drop a database is the DBCA because it is easy to use.
